《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Ten

Though she went to La Push with Paige and Mark, she did not plan to be anywhere near the water. The days were too cold to be by the water. Mark and Paige surfed for a bit, while Piper laid on the hood of the couple's car and listened to her music. She loved being outdoors, as long as she wasn't too cold or too hot. Normally she really didn't feel the cold, but she could easily get hot. She often wore hoodies and such to give people the illusion that she wasn't a psycho who liked cold weather.
As she was laying on the car with her eyes on the cloudy sky, she felt a tap on her leg, causing her to jump to sitting position with her fists raised to fight. She shook her head and laughed when she seen Jacob Black and two of his friends staying by the car. She quickly pulled her earbuds from her ears and shoved her mp3 player into her hoodie pocket.
"Hey, Jake. Who's your friends?" She asked, as she crossed her legs.
"Oh, that's Embry Call, and that's Sam Uley." He replied, pointing at his friends as he said their names.
"Hello boys, and what do I owe the pleasure of your interruption for?" She commented, a smirk playing on her lips.
"We were playing soccer when Sam noticed you were by yourself." Embry said, as Jacob nodded in agreement.
"I figured I could introduce my friends to the older Swan sister. The girl who bullied me when we were younger." Jacob commented, causing the girl to shove him playfully.
"I can still beat your ass if you want." She retorted, and he scoffed.
"As if." He murmured, making her quickly jump off the car.

"Wanna bet?" She asked, but he quickly shook his head.
"No, I'd rather not embarrass you in front of them, and you're wearing white, so--" He began, before she cut him off.
"You mean you don't want to embarrass yourself in front of your friends." She said, causing his friends to laugh.
Piper smirked, before she grabbed Jacob's arm and in one quick movement, she had his arm twisted and behind his back. His eyes widened, as she applied more pressure and actually made it hurt a little. He winced, as he tried to get her to let him go.
"Tap, or I'm going to make you eat dirt." She said, causing him to groan when she tightened her grip again.
He quickly tapped, getting her to let him go. His friends laughed again, as they pushed the boy teasingly for losing to a girl.
"I've got to go, but feel free to come back as long as you're not bullying me again." Jacob said, before he quickly ran off.
"You scared him away." Embry commented, as he laughed.
"Don't worry, he always comes back for more." Piper replied, and the boys smirked.
"We should probably follow him so he doesn't think we befriended his bully." Sam joked, before he and Embry ran off.
"Who were they?" Mark asked, causing the girl to turn towards the couple.
"They were good looking." Paige commented, and Piper laughed.
"Those were a few boys from the rez. I've known them for a while." She somewhat lied, so Paige and Mark didn't think she was making even more friends without them.
"Did you like any of them?" Paige asked, her eyebrow lifted and a smirk was on her face.
"Not like that." Piper answered, causing the other girl to groan in annoyance.

"Paige, I think she has a thing for the muscly Cullen. I believe his name is Emmett." Mark said, and Paige grinned mischievously.
The couple turned towards Piper with suggestive smiles on their faces, causing the girl's face to turn red slightly with a blush. She never really thought about how she felt about Emmett Cullen, but as Paige and Mark seemed to interrogate and tease her, she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. She never really felt embarrassed about anything, but as they teased her, she began to wonder about how she felt about Emmett.
"So, do you like him?" Paige asked, causing the other girl to furrow her eyebrows.
"Who?" The girl asked, flashing an innocent smile.
"Emmett! Do you like Emmett?!" Mark exclaimed, making Piper shush him.
"I don't know, but if you get any louder the entire reservation with think I do." Piper retorted, causing Mark to laugh.
"How do you not know if you have feelings for Emmett?" Paige asked, which forced a sigh from Piper.
"I haven't thought about it. I've been so caught up with day to day life, that I haven't really thought about my feelings." Piper replied, causing her friends to nod.
Mark and Paige decided it was time to leave when they seen that Paige's sister was arriving. Piper climbed into the backseat of the car, before Mark drove her home. As soon as she was home, the girl went to her room and threw herself down on her bed. She kicked off her shoes, since she hated when anyone would wear shoes on their bed. Once her shoes were off, she kicked back on her bed and laid staring at the ceiling. She decided to think about everything Mark and Paige had questioned her about, which made her feel a little nervous.
Piper had feelings for someone before, and she had other relationships, but she never felt so flustered when thinking about her feelings before. She didn't want to be disappointed by her feelings not being returned, but she also didn't want to upset anyone if she didn't return feelings either. She closed her eyes, clearing her mind of everything but her feelings. She decided to listen to her heart and finally figure out if she was really feeling something for Emmett, or if it was just a platonic friendship.
"Why is this so hard to figure out?" She asked herself, sighing slightly.
Feelings had never been harder to figure out in her life...

Lost In Translation
If you're one to travel the roads, you may have heard of me. You may have heard my Names in the stories, the songs, and the whispers of the road. Perhaps you've even seen me during my travels, speaking to a bird of blue light, or on a city street, performing small acts for coin and repute. Or perhaps you may know me as the Skystrider, who walked with the wind. Or the Voiceless, a man of song without speech. You may know me as the Tutor, who taught the Lion of Summer how to fight, or the Traveler, who has walked all the roads of the earth. I am all of these things. And people have branded me a myth. But people don't understand what a myth is. They haven't heard the songs lost to our tongues, nor have they seen the things I've seen. They haven't gone to the places I've gone. My feet have walked the plains, the seas, and the clouds. I have spoken languages unspoken; tongues lost to time. I have sung to the earth, held the moon in my arms, and walked the roads that your heroes hesitate to even mention. I have outwitted Demons. I have danced with the Fae. My songs have been heard by lords of wind and ash, and my steps have echoed in the bellies of gargantuan beasts the likes of which you have never seen. These are what real myths are. And me? I'm no legend. I'm just the bard stupid enough to poke the real ones with a stick. Discord link here. [Disclaimer: Book 1 of this story will likely be published in KU by around the start of 2022, so please keep that in mind. Book 2 and onwards will continue here until they are published as well.]

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Am I The Only One Who Is Not Forced to Migrate Across Worlds....?
A random isekai adventure might not be random. Underlying conspiracies, not-so-kind world and most importantly two-faced characters. Only time can reveal the flaws of the so-called Migrators! *** I am rewriting the novel. All this time, I have honing my skills as a writer. As my first novel, this novel served as a self-reflection of how much I improved later on. This doesn't have the most unique of plots but as a first novel, I still have some aspirations and memories.
