《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Six

Though Piper and Emmett were meant to get to know each other, the duo really didn't talk much through school. Piper was worried that Emmett didn't actually want to get to know her, but she wasn't going to shut down too quick since it was for a chance to go without homework for more than a day. Piper hated homework, so she would do anything to keep from getting assigned any.
"You were partnered with Emmett Cullen?" Paige commented, when Piper had met her and Mark at their car.
"Yes, but it's fine. He seemed nice enough to be around in class. Maybe he and I will win the homework pass." Piper replied, and Paige shrugged.
Piper went through most of school without any incidents, other than Bella coming to her and complaining about Edward still not being around for her to bother. Piper figured Edward was sick, but Bella wasn't taking the absence lightly. Bella didn't even know Edward, yet Piper thought her sister already seemed obsessed with the absent male.
When lunch had rolled around, Piper walked into the lunchroom ready to grab whatever crappy food the school had prepared for the day. She placed pizza and string cheese on her plate, before grabbing an apple juice to drink. As she was walking towards her table, she was stopped by a cold hand grabbing her arm. She turned around and was met with Emmett Cullen. He had a smile on his face; one he seemed to wear everyday since she had met him.
"Hey, Emmett." Piper said, letting her own smile grace her face.
"Hey, Piper. I was wondering if you'd come and sit at my table today." He commented, causing the girl to look over at his table.
She seen Alice smiling and waving at her, and Rosalie seemed to be smiling slightly as well, but his one brother, Jasper, didn't seem too happy with the idea. Dylan held a neutral look on his face, but Piper realized Dylan always seemed to be calm and neutral about everything. She's never seen him angry or upset, and she only ever seen him laugh once.

"Are you sure? I don't want to intrude on your family." She murmured, and he nodded.
"Oh, you'll be fine. Everyone is happy to let you join. Even Rosalie seems happy to see you." Emmett replied, and Piper smiled.
"Sure, but I have to tell my friends that I--" She began, but he cut her off.
"We can go to them now. I'll walk you." He said, and she nodded.
Emmett walked the girl over to her table, which caused Paige and Mark to look at her with wide eyes. They had never seen the Cullen family interact with anyone outside of their family unless they absolutely had to. Mark remembered how well Rosalie and Piper were talking to each other in shop, but he never though they'd actually form a friendship enough for her to be invited to their table. The couple also didn't realize that Piper and Emmett had a friendship more than just talking in class.
"It's fine. You have to be free Saturday though, since we're still going to La Push." Paige said, and Piper nodded.
"I'll be free. I promise." She replied, as she sent a smile to her friends.
Emmett frowned at the thought of Piper going to La Push, especially with Mark and Paige. The entire Cullen family didn't go to La Push, and all of the Cullen children believed that Paige and Mark were bad influences. They believed that the couple weren't great company to have around ever, which made them worry about Piper's safety. Honestly, they were worried that the couple would influence Piper in the worst way.
"Hey, Piper. How's your day?" Alice asked, and Piper smiled.
"Pretty good, and yours?" Piper replied, and Alice grinned.
"Just amazing." She answered, as she seemed to stare at Piper and Emmett.

"Piper, this is my boyfriend, Dylan." Rosalie commented, as she motioned towards the dark haired boy next to her.
"Nice to meet you, Piper. Rosalie has talked quite fondly of you." Dylan said, Piper recognized the English accent the boy had almost instantly.
"This is Rosalie's twin brother and my boyfriend, Jasper." Alice added, seeming to bounce happily in her seat.
"Nice to meet you, Piper." Jasper murmured, though he held a small smile on his face.
Piper's blood wasn't as potent and loud to Jasper, so he didn't want to attack her, but all the humans around the school didn't really help either. Piper's blood actually smelled a little calming to him, but he didn't want to take any chances. He actually wanted to get to know her more before he allowed himself to even somewhat let himself be a little relaxed around the girl.
"Nice to meet you both," Piper replied, before turning to Dylan,"I believe you're in my math class." She said, and he nodded.
"Yes, I am. It's not too horrid of a class either." He replied, causing her to laugh slightly.
"Yeah, I guess. I'd rather not be stuck in school, but I can't exactly skip every day. I use to skip all the time in Phoenix, or I'd get into fights, sometimes just to get a week off school. I can't do that here though, since Dad's the chief of police. I'd be shunned for my normal behavior." She murmured, causing the others to laugh slightly as well.
"Fighting isn't always the answer, Piper." Alice commented, and the girl shrugged.
"Seemed to work as a pretty good answer to me. I never lost a fight, and the person or persons I fought never bothered me again." She replied, as Alice rolled her eyes and the others smirked.
"Emmett likes fighting as well, but it's normally one of us, not anyone at school. He's afraid he'd hurt them." Jasper said, which almost surprised Piper, since she wasn't expecting the boy to really talk to her much since he seemed shy around her.
"Well, most people in this school seem wimpy anyway. I could probably fight the captain of the football team and win without him getting a single hit in." Piper replied, and Emmett shook his head as he laughed loudly, throwing his arm over Piper's shoulders as lightly as he could.
The Cullen siblings, other than Edward since he was absent, truly believed Piper was good for Emmett. She seemed to have a similar personality to him, and also seemed quite different from all the humans that were in the school. The siblings hoped Emmett would finally find his happiness in the girl, since she was almost the perfect girl version of him...
