《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Five

Piper had been nervous about going to school the next day, since she had run into Emmett full-on as she was getting ready to leave the school. She hoped nobody would remember her running into Emmett, but she figured if they did, she could just pretend it didn't happen or just shrug it off like she did most things.
"I'm going to confront Edward for the way he acted yesterday in class." Bella said, when she and Piper were heading to their cars.
"Are you sure that's a good idea, Bells? I mean, he might've just had a bad day yesterday." Piper commented, but her sister quickly disagreed.
"No, Piper. He acted like I smelt bad and kept glaring at me. He was literally holding his nose when I had sat down next to him." Bella replied, causing her sister to scowl.
"Oh, well I guess he is a jackass. Don't worry about him, Bella. If he's rude to you again, tell me and I'll beat his ass. You remember what happened when Eric was mean to you in sixth grade." Piper said, and Bella nodded slowly.
"You beat him up and he was a fifth grader." Bella retorted, and Piper shrugged.
"He deserved it. Besides, you were a fifth grader, too." She replied, and Bella scoffed.
Piper climbed into her own car and drove straight to school. She didn't like how secluded the school was, but she did like how quiet the roads were. Piper hated traffic, though traffic gave her the perfect chance to practice her car karaoke. She and Bella use to laugh for hours when Piper would yell out lyrics to a song while waiting for the traffic to move even an inch.
Pulling into the parking lot, Piper seen the Cullens standing by their vehicles. She discreetly furrowed her eyebrows when she seen that Edward wasn't with the rest of his family. Matter of fact, Edward wasn't even at school. Piper breathed a sigh of relief, realizing Bella couldn't confront Edward like she had wanted to.

"Piper!" Mark exclaimed, causing Piper to turn towards Mark and Paige.
Emmett had heard Mark call for Piper, which made him frown. He knew that Mark and Paige were together, but he had heard rumors that the couple were into polygamy, which meant they could easily pull Piper into their relationship, though he didn't know if Piper was into polygamy.
Piper wasn't into polygamy, but she also didn't knock anyone who was. Piper could jokingly act as though she was into something like that when she was around her friends, but she wasn't actually into all that.
"C'mon, we'll be late for class if we don't hurry up." Paige said, and Piper nodded.
Paige and Mark walked Piper to her first class, deciding that they'd walk their friend to and from classes when they could, even if it was only one of them that could walk her. First class was boring, which anyone would figure, and second class wasn't much better. In second class she was told she had to write a story, which was fine, but it was still a pain in the ass to think of ideas.
When third class had rolled around, Piper's stomach filled with butterflies. She had thought Emmett was rather hot when she met him, so seeing him in class after somewhat embarrassing herself the day prior made her feel a little anxious. She sighed slowly, closing her eyes for a moment to calm herself down. She promised to never make a fool of herself in front of anyone. Walking into the classroom, her eyebrows furrowed when she seen all of the desks were sitting in pairs of two together.
Instead of making a big deal out of it, Piper went to the first desk that was empty and sat down. She didn't know who her partner would be, but she hoped it was someone who would do at least a little work. She hated people who didn't do any work but still expected to have amazing grades. As she was off in her own little world, she felt someone sit down beside her. Looking over, she kept herself from reacting too much when she seen that Emmett had sat down beside her.

"Hey, princess. Fancy seeing you here." He commented, causing her to roll her eyes.
"Of course you'd see me here, Emmett, it's class. I can't miss, not on my second day. Teachers might start to think I don't care about their lessons." She retorted, speaking sarcastically as she thought of the teachers.
Piper wasn't one to care about classes most times, even though she was very bright and almost always the teacher's favorite student. Emmett chuckled softly, before turning to the front when the teacher walked into the room.
"As you can see, your desks are in pairs today. After a meeting with other history teachers, I've decided to give each of you a partner for the rest of the year. The person sitting next to you will be your partner. You both will work together on homework, classwork, and bring each other missed notes or homework whenever the other student isnt here." Mr Friend, stated, as he walked around the room.
"Well, partner, seems we'll be spending a lot of time together." Emmett whispered, and Piper smirked.
"Today I want you all to get to know your partner. Matter of fact, take the rest of the week to get to know your partner. The partners with the most facts and opinions on each other will win a homework pass, that will give them a pass from a week's worth of homework that can be used at any time of the year." Mr Friend said, causing Piper and Emmett to look at each other with grins on their faces.
Emmett and Piper were sure they were going to win the homework pass, even if that meant they had to spend every moment together. Though Emmett was a vampire and knew quite a bit, he still liked skipping homework. It was just a plus that he'd be able to spend the entire time with Piper. He wanted nothing more than to be around the girl and make her happy. He wanted her to want to be around him. She was something special to him, his whole family knew it, and he was sure he'd be something special to her soon too...
