CHAPTER 13:

"Wish I could freeze this moment in a frame and stay like this. I'll put this day back on replay and keep reliving it." ~Truly, Madly, Deeply, One Direction

DANIELLE'S POV

Oh my god. Today's the day. I'm going on a date with Liam Freaking Hot Payne! Somebody hold me.

Okay. So I'm currently standing in front of my mirror, straightening my crazy curly hair, which I've been doing for the past freaking two and a half hours.

"Do you really think you need to iron your hair Dani? It's taking too long!" Eleanor asked from my bed. Yep, it's the Eleanor that Louis thought he had a crush on. The new sassy girl. Turns out, she's a really nice gal who's really into fashion like me and she loves Starbucks too! So one thing lead to another and now we're pretty good friends! Yay!

Now after spending two more hours over my makeup and outfit and I was finally ready.

"Thanks for the help El. You made me look really good if I do say so," I commented, posing in front of my mirror.

"Oh pssh! It's all you, you gorgeous woman," she grinned. I smiled back.

I placed my phone in my purse and slung it over my shoulders. "OH SHIT! It's seven! Go Dani! Go go go!" Eleanor shoved me outside.

"Whoa, alright, okay!" Checking my hair one last time in the mirror, I threw Eleanor and then my Mum a goodbye a waited at the front door.

And true to his word, Liam pulled up in front of my house at 7.03.

"You're late," I teased, getting into his silver Audi.

"Only three minutes late!" he protested and I laughed and flicked his nose.

"So, you're still not going to tell me where we're going?"

"Nope," Liam smirked and started the car.

"Ooh, I love surprises!" I stated sarcastically.

"Then you're gonna love this date."

"Hmm." I pouted and leaned back in my seat.

"By the way, you look adorable today," he smiled. I smiled back and blushed.

"Thanks."

"Oh my god it's gorgeous!" I gushed, hand over my mouth. The place Liam had brought us for our first date, it was... wow.

It was a boat house slash restaurant with an amazing view of the lake. The restaurant was newly opened, and there weren't many people around. Liam talked to the maître de and he led us to a table that was set up in a gazebo, overlooking the shimmering lake. There were fairy lights hung up almost everywhere, making the place more romantic.

"It's a family friend's place so we got in without a reservation. So, is it okay?" Liam asked, almost nervously when we were seated.

"Okay? It's so... so beautiful! It's... god it's just wow. Thanks for bringing me here Liam," I smiled at him honestly. He smiled back cutely and held my hand across the table. "That's good."

After we ordered our food, we talked and teased and flirted for a while. Then after we were finished with our dinner, Liam announced, "I've got another thing planned for tonight."

I looked at him with a questioning look. He just got out of his chair and held out his hand. Then gesturing to some employee, he steered me to the boat docks. The guy was already there, ready to untie the boat from the dock. We got in and rowed for a while.

"Wow, I feel like we're in Tangled," I sighed dreamily, admiring the reflection of the moon on the water surface.

"Oh wow, yeah! Only the floating lanterns are missing," he laughed.

I raised an eyebrow. "Never took you for a guy who liked Disney films."

Liam put a hand on his heart and faked offense. "I'll have you know, I love Disney films! Especially Toy Story. And I could actually cuddle all day with someone special and watch Disney films," he stated, lookig down shyly.

I looked at him in surprise. Aww! Wow, who would've known? A jock, the captain of the lacrosse team, loved Disney films and was such a big romantic? Those labels are really bullshit.

And it was Liam's soft side that really attracts me to him. His love for animals, his romantic side, his need to make everyone happy and his appreciation for everyone's opinions. I guess that's one of the main reasons why he's the team captain. He cares about everyone's opinions.

We were sitting there in the small boat, on the water, admiring the peaceful sight with a comfortable silence between us.

Liam broke the silence after a while. "I think we should probably go back now. 'Cos I've got a game tomorrow and I think it's past your curfew."

I nodded sadly. Every good date has to come to an end.

LIAM'S POV

"I think we should probably go back now. 'Cos I've got a game tomorrow and I think it's past your curfew." Yep, tomorrow's the first season's playoff. It's basically a warm up game against a nearby school but it's still a big deal to us. And to Coach. He's really grinding us to be the best this year.

"Hey, the date's not over yet," I winked at Dani and she looked up and smiled.

"Now come on, row!" She laughed but complied and we started rowing back to the dock.

"Uh, Liam? I think we're doing it wrong. We're going in circles."

"I guess you're supposed to paddle this way...and...uh?"

Dani laughed. "Okay, let's try again."

We were still going in circle. And I don't know what on earth we just did but the next thing we knew, our boat toppled over and we were in the lake, spluttering out water.

I pulled up to the surface and gasped. "Dani? You okay?" She popped up beside me, holding the turned over boat for support. "I can safely say this is by far the most unusual date Ive been on."

"Er, sorry." I just wanted everything to be perfect today, was that too much to ask?

Dani swam closer to me. "It's okay Li. It's still the best date ever." I grinned.

"That's good." I looped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer.

"You were saying?" I asked, brushing our noses together.

"Uh, th-this is the best date ever!" And then she sneezed lightly and groaned.

"Ugh, mood killer!" She muttered and I chuckled.

"It's okay, love. Now let's get you out before you catch a cold." Staying in the water at 9.30 on an August night wasn't a very good idea.

We toppled the boat back the right way and hopped in. And then finally rowing it the correct way, we got back to the dock.

"Ugh, no! My stupid curly hair is back!" Dani groaned, trying to smooth her drying hair while we were walking back to my car.

I pulled her hands down. "It's quite alright. I like your curly hair way better."

She grinned and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Oh, really?"

"Mmhm, honest."

"Where were we when I interrupted us in the water?" She asked innocently. Without replying, I bent down and kissed her softly, which she returned.

So we had our first kiss under the moonlight, beside the lake.

Oh, I'm such a sappy romantic. But it was amazing.
