Chapter 12: Discovery
You and Jay decided to have a movie night that night, so you both set up the living room by placing blankets on the ground with a load of pillows to get comfortable, and had different foods on the table in front of you.
You decided on having a high school musical movie marathon since Jay had never watched it and you just wanted to watch it for childhood memories.
You were half way through the second movie, with you singing and dancing to all the songs while Jay laughed at you, when you got a phone call.
You look at your phone to see it was from an unknown number. You pause the movie and sit up before answering the call, ignoring the confused look Jay gave you.
"Hello." You greet into the phone.
You heard someone sobbing, "(Y/N)?" A familiar voice questioned.
"Mrs McCall?" You question confused as to why your ex boyfriends mother would be calling you. Mrs McCall was a sweet woman who loved you as her own child, even after you broke up with her son, she continued loving you as her own.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" You ask concerned.
"Oh (Y/N), its Thomas." Mrs McCall cried out.
"Thomas? Is he okay?" You question as you see Jay moving towards you from the corner of your eye.
"(Y/N), he, my son, he's..." Mrs McCall stuttered, "He's dead!" She screams as she bursts into more tears.
You feel yourself freeze, "What?" You whisper confused.
"Me and my husband were coming home from work and when we got into the house we smelt blood. We walked into the living room to see Thomas' body." She cries.
"Thomas.. is.. dead...?" You whisper to yourself as you felt tears rush to your eyes.
"What?" Jay questions as he now stands in front of you, concern floating through his eyes.
You felt the phone slip out of your hand just as you heard the call being ended, you felt yourself shaking as tears crusaded down your cheeks.
Jay immediately pulls you into a hug, whispering into your ears, but you heard nothing, all you could think about was Mrs McCalls sentence, "He's dead!"
Thomas was dead. But how? He was at your house a few hours ago, laughing and joking around, and now he's dead?
You felt bile rising up to your throat, you push Jay away from you and ran towards the bathroom. You flung open the door before proceeding to let out the food you had eaten while watching the movies.

You felt hands grab your hair and move it away from your face as another hand rubbed your back soothingly. After a few minutes of you throwing up, you lean against the bathroom wall, out of breath, tears still falling.
Jay once again pulls you into a hug, telling you to calm down and to breath. Once you were calm, Jay made you explain what had happened, before allowing you to cry on him again.
Jay picked you up from the bathroom floor and carried you to your bed, before gently placing you down. He noticed the bed had no blanket since you used them all downstairs, he quickly pulled himself from you and said he'd be back in a few seconds, before he ran out of the room.
You took this time alone to think about what had happened, the news of Thomas' death shocked you to the max, you never thought that someone would want to kill Thomas. Two of your friends were now dead, both in very brutal ways. You were scared, scared of being alone, but then you remembered that Jay was here. You were thankful for the boy for being with you and comforting you.
But your mind went to what Kevin had told you earlier that day, how you should be careful around Jay. You thought about how both murders had happened after you had invited Jay to your house, and now that you thought of it, Jay had left the house twice, both of which were times before one of your friends were found dead.
You shake your head at your thoughts, 'what are you thinking? Jay wouldn't do that! What motive does he have? He's been comforting me during these times and here I am questioning him.' You scold yourself before Jay entered the room with a blanket.
He wrapped the blanket around you before holding you closer to him, "Are you okay now?" He questions softly.
You nod your head at him, "Thank you Jay, for being here for me." You thank him.
Jay runs his hand through your hair soothingly, "You don't need to thank me (Y/N), I don't like seeing you sad, I just want you to be happy and smiling."
You nod your head at him before leaning into his chest, wanting his comfort from the news you had received. As you lay upon his chest, you felt your eyes droop slowly while you heard Jay say something, but you didn't hear, because you felt yourself falling into the land of dreams.
You woke up the next morning feeling tired and drained, even though you had just woken up. You look around to see that you were in your bed alone, Jay was no longer with you.

You look at your phone to see that it was 10:45am, you had been sleeping for 10 hours. Your phone turned off, leaving the black screen that showed your reflection. You saw your puffy red eyes gaze back at you as your hair was tangled up. You let out a sign, not really caring about your appearance as you went looking for Jay.
You opened your bedroom door and made your way downstairs as you smelt something sweet being made. You walked into the kitchen to see Jay standing with a white apron on as he tossed a pancake into the air.
"Jay?" You question, your voice coming out croaky due to all the crying.
The said boy turned around to look at you with a smile, "Hey (Y/N), good morning."
You greet him back before questioning what he was doing.
"Making breakfast."
"I didn't know you could cook." You say as you walk towards the stools and took a seat.
"Well thats because you never asked, or allowed me into the kitchen to cook." He chuckles.
You smile at him as you watch him stack up the pancakes. He looks through the cupboards trying to find the Nutella but couldn't find any. He asks you where you put it, to which you respond that it was finished and there was none left.
"What? You can't have pancakes without Nutella!" Jay exclaims as he takes his apron off.
"What are you doing?" You ask as you see him putting his coat on.
"I'm gonna run to the store to pick up some Nutella, I'll be back in 10 minutes." He yelled over his shoulder as he ran out the door.
You smile at the boy as you looked at the pancakes that he made. He was taking care of your during these hard days of yours and you were thankful for that.
"Be careful around him."
You furrow your eyebrows as you thought of what Kevin had told you before you shook your head and scolded yourself about thinking about that again.
'But it wouldn't hurt to check his room out, you know see if he has any laundry that he needs to wash. Yeah it'll be fine.' You think to yourself as you made your way to the boys room.
You stood outside the door and held onto the door handle for a few seconds, before letting out a small sign and opening the door.
The room was clean, as if no one was using it, but you figured he kept it clean because he didn't want to mess anything up in your house.
You look around the room, you opened his cupboard to see only 3 items of clothing on it. You made a mental note to take him shopping for more clothes later as you continued looking around the room.
You look through the drawers by the bed to find them empty. There was nothing in his room that was bad or suspicious. Letting out a sigh, you stand up to walk out of his room, but as you take a step forward, you see something from the corner of your eyes, underneath the bed.
Your eyebrows furrow in confusion as you see that its a t-shirt. You bend down to grab it, thinking it was something he would want to have washed.
You grab the edge of the shirt before pulling it out from under the bed, your eyes widening at the sight of it. The shirt had large red stains on it that seemed dry. Your hands shake as you stare at the stains, 'what the hell?' you think to yourself confused as you look under his bed again.
There were so many different things under there, such as one of your pink shirts that you had been looking for, for ages but thought it was just hidden somewhere in your cupboard, and one of your panties that you had also been looking for. 'Why the hell are they here?' You think, confused as your eyes wonder to the other things under the bed, but they stop on one thing that makes your whole body freeze in fear.
Slowly you reach your arm out to grab onto the object and pull it out. You let out a small scream and dropped the item as you stared at the bloody knife in fear. You began to shake as you slowly picked the knife up again and started at the knife.
"Why would he have this?" You ask yourself, fearfully, before your mind wonders to each of your friends deaths, Jay leaving the house before each death, Jay comforting you and Kevin's warning.
You slowly stood up, holding onto the knife as tears glisten your eyes. It all made sense now. You move down to pick the bloody shirt up when you heard a voice that made your blood run cold.
"What are you doing?"
