Josie is not the kind of person to just forget about the world and get lost. She's very responsible, she always informs me if she's going to be late. Her cellphone is powered off. Liam said Josie left with her car, in which she always keeps a spare charger so no possibility of battery dead.

Something's wrong. And when there's a suspicion, there's Hans Nicholas Anderson. So I grabbed a baseball bat and made my way to his house. I would've beaten him to his death if Josie was in trouble because of him.

And now, I'm in his car sitting right beside him. We are headed to Peoria, almost three hours away from Chicago. My phone vibrates in my jeans pocket, and as I pull it out, it reads Mr. Lemonade.

Shit! I forgot to tell Liam that we have found her location.

“ I've searched for her in all the places she usually go. She's nowhere. I'm the worst boyfriend ever! It was all my faul--” he belts and I cut him off, “ Listen listen I found her location. Wait I'm putting the call on speaker. ”

“ What you found her? Where is she? Is she fine? ”

“ Yeah, wait I'm texting you the location. ” I tell him while minimising the call to text him the location. “ She's at a hospital? Oh my God!” he blurts as soon as the text turns seen.

“ I-I'm coming right away. ”, he stutters while sounding panicked. My mouth fails to form words to tell him to be strong. How can one be strong?Knowing that their loved one is in hospital.

“ Don't overthink, maybe she's there only as a doctor. ”, Hans finally breaks the silence. “ Man, I don't know who're you but if that turns out to be true, I'll kiss you. ”

Liam is really not in his senses.

“ What? Wh-what? No, no you don't have to! I'm good without it. ” Hans blabs being totally confused what to say, while my lips slightly curls upward.

“ Really? That's your choice? ” Hans mouths in my direction with a disgusted face. “ Wait did I say I'll kiss you? No, no I meant I'll kiss Josie. ” Liam says.

Where the hell this conversation going?

“ Now what the hell do you mean, you'll kiss Josie? How can you say that in front of your girlfriend? ”, Hans presses the brakes and snaps out loud with his eyes as wide as a globe.

“ What does that supposed to mean? ” Liam responds from the other side to which Hans reacts before I could,“ I meant how can you say that when you know Noriana can hear you? ”

“ Excuse me, of course I can say that. We're very frank with each- ”

“ Hey hey, I think we all should be focusing on Josie right now. I'm hanging up the call. ” I butt in before anything else happens.

“ Oh yeah yeah, I'll text you as I reach there. ”

“ Yeah. And hey listen, she'll be fine okay. ” I mumble calmly ignoring my own heartbeat rate. “ I don't know, Nora. I won't forgive myself if anything bad happens to her. ” he professes and hangs up the call.

Me neither, buddy.

“ So you're fine with your boyfriend kissing your best friend? ” Hans asks shockingly. “ Can you please focus on the tracks? ”

He looks ahead and accelerates the car. He stays quiet for a minute or two before starting to talk rubbish, again. “ So when we were together, was I also allowed to kiss other girls or it's exclusively for him? ”

Hans you better don't start again!

I rather not say anything or I'd end up saying something very lousy. And right now, my priority is Josie. I'll mess with him someday later.

We get out of the car as we reach the Hospital. She literally runs to the reception, “ Where's Josie? Josie Taylor. She's my friend and she's a doctor too. She's here and I'm-”

Silly Nerd!

“ Excuse me, I'm Hans Nicholas Anderson. ” I can feel her staring at me with furious eyes. My team has already informed the hospital about the whole thing.

“ Yes sir. We got a call from your office. Your patient is in room 345, third floor.” the receptionist tells and Noriana just stands there for a second. She wouldn't have expected this advancement.

Come on, I'm a CEO of a bloody company.

“ Nora! ” someone calls out Noriana's name and we both turn around to see the face of the voice. It's her bloody boyfriend, who's got enough guts to kiss any other girl in front of his girlfriend.

“ She's in room 345.” she apprises.

As we reach the destination floor, our eyes look for room 345. “ Doctor, I'm...” that man slash Noriana's new boyfriend go aside as he talks with a doctor who just came out of the subject room.

Noriana and I wait on the other side of the corridor. Finally her Mr. Lemonade comes back and tells, “ She's fine. But we'll have to wait until she becomes conscious. ”

I don't really know about Josie Taylor. But after hearing that she's fine, a strange feeling of calmness reaches my body.

After waiting for 30-45 minutes, a nurse tells us that we can finally meet Josie Taylor. Usually three persons are not allowed together inside the room but I think this man is a doctor himself so no one dares to stop us.

Speaking of him, his face looks kind of familiar. I don't think I've ever met him. But still.

We three walk inside the room without making any noise trying to avoid any disturbance. Josie Taylor is lying on the patient bed, with her forehead covered with bandages.

“ Josie, sweetheart. ” that man puts his hand on her cheeks to which she gives a slight flinch. She slowly opens her eyes, she sees us but doesn't reply for a few seconds.

After I don't know, maybe thinking or what, she makes an effort to sit and that man helps her. What the bloody hell. Is he really Noriana boyfriend?

Oh wait, he's a doctor too. Maybe he and Josie Taylor work together and probably that's how Noriana met him, through Josie.

“ How did you get here? ” Noriana asks. Seriously, what an appropriate first thing to ask someone who's just woken from a deep sleep.

“ Yes, I'm fine. thanks for asking. ” Josie Taylor mumbles and I can see the happiness in Noriana's smile which I was trying to find from past few hours. My heart was sinking every second she was crying.

“ I was returning from the St. Joseph church, here in Peoria. I saw a kitten appeared right in front of my car from nowhere, and I lost the balance. ” Josie Taylor says in her weak tone, while that man still holding her in his embrace.

“ There're a lot of churches there in Chicago too, why would you come this far? ” that man finally asks. “ It's the same church my Dad used to bring me, when I was a kid.”

The moment I hear the Dad word, I shift my focus to Noriana to see her expressions. She still holds a brave smile but eyes don't lie. But if she really loved her father, why didn't she come to his funeral?

“ Well, you know how worried we were for you. I can't even explain the things I did to find you. ” Noriana says to bring back the strong and bricky Noriana 2.0, while looking at me from the corner of her eyes.

You almost tossed my head with a baseball bat, girl.

“ Really? ”

“ Yeah, I would've done anything for you. ” Wow, am I watching fifty shades of Noriana? So now she cringes and cliches too. She indeed have changed a lot.

“ Then, you would even let me read that secret diary of yours. ” Josie Taylor mumbles to which she slightly squints eyes at her.

What Diary? Oh yes, I remember she used to write some stupid diary.

“ Um hey Doctor, we don't know this girl, we want our money back. ” Noriana mocks and everyone starts laughing, and to my surprise, a grin appears on my face as well.

That man hugs Josie. A small sparkling tear twinkles at his eye inner corner. Oh Dear Lord, is he going to cry? He is really very close to Josie Taylor, I guess.

“ And you know what Joe, Mr. Lemonade was thinking, it was all his fault. And he was even ready to use roses instead of orchids. ” Noriana intervenes to change the sad atmosphere.

Orchids and Roses?

“ Oh my bad, actually yes there was no kitten. I was really upset with him and I deliberately hurt myself. So roses final? ” Josie Taylor blurts with a brightened tone while everyone giggles.

Whatever, these people are fun!

“ Final! ” That man says, and crosses all the limits. He freaking kisses Josie Taylor on her lips. I can't help but look at Noriana who's still looking at them with a smile.

What the bloody hell is wrong with her?

He pulls away and gets up from Josie Taylor's side and moves in my direction,“ I really wanted to thank you, man. We couldn't have found her without you. So thank you. ”

I pass him a fake smile and slightly nod my head in a so called welcoming gesture. “ We haven't formally introduced yet, Myself Dr. Liam. ” he puts his hand forward for a handshake.

“ Would've been more delighted if it was Hemsworth or Payne. ” I put a strong essence of sarcasm in my tone. I don't know why the hell Noriana is afraid of him but Hans Nicholas Anderson is afraid of no one. However, I reluctantly shake my hand with his.

“ Ahaha, but it's Harrington. Dr. Liam Harrington. ” he still replies with an awkward smile.

Wait what! Liam what? Oh Lord, Liam Harrington!

How could I forget this man? He is Liam Harrington, Josie Taylor's boyfriend. I once blackmailed Noriana for him. I should've seen his photos more clearly before blackmailing her.

Does that mean Noriana doesn't have a boyfriend?

“ Oh Liam Harrington, now it was really nice meeting you, mate. And it was a pleasure to help you to find your girlfriend Josie Taylor. If you ever need any more help with your girlfriend Josie Taylor, I'm just one call away. ” saying this, I tightly hug him.

Noriana hasn't moved on!

So Mr. Male Bitch has finally realised, Liam is Josie's boyfriend, not mine. Look at the glow on his damn face.

Josie pokes my shoulder and mouths, “ Who's this guy? ” Again not a good place and situation to tell her that he's my ex-husband. “ Well, he's my boss, Mr. Anderson. ” I tell, loud enough so that Liam could also hear.

“ I'm boss for her, but you can call me Hans. ” Hans says in an excited tone. “ In fact, Liam, boyfriend of Josie Taylor, I think we can be very good friends, ain't we mate? ”

Is he having menstruation? What's up with his mood swings?
