《Little More Love || Completed》Chapter 25 : Half Story

❁ Don't judge people for the choices they made when you don't know the options they had. ❁

I'm a Goddamn biased man. I had so many ways to kick her out of my bed and what did I do? I was going to kiss her on the lips, Jesus Christ! What the hell is wrong with me?

Why do I end up doing all those things that make me curse myself even more. I helped her, fed her soup with my own soft hands. I've never done that for any of my girlfriends, and then sneaked inside her quilt.

However, I don't really regret any of this even if I want to. In fact, I liked being close to her, holding her tight in my embrace, smelling the scent of her skin. The way she was looking in my eyes, so vulnerable, it was impossible to not fall for her again.

I guess, I can never understand this woman, she's selfish, never think twice before making a decision, don't give a damn about anyone else but when I look in her eyes, she's the same Noriana who used to be my best friend, my tennis buddy, my silly nerd.

It's better to open my laptop and do some work because sleep is nowhere near me and it won't even be until I keep thinking about her.

Happy sleepless night Hans Nicholas Anderson.

Ouch my neck!

I put my hand beside my neck which is hurting badly. Damn I slept while working, and now my body is stiffed. I better quickly have a hot shower because I need to reach the venue and sign the contract papers with that Asian Company.

After completing my morning businesses, I blow dry my hairs and then step downstairs adjusting my watch on my wrist, to find a neatly folded blanket on the sofa with a pillow on top of it.

Oh, I totally forgot about my enemy spending night at my home.

I look around to find the person who folded the blanket when my eyes fall upon a note on the center table.

She has really got a thing for writing leaving notes.

" Thank you, for helping me last night. I'm going home. As a nice assistant that I am, I should reach office before my boss, Nora xoxo. " a scoff escapes my mouth as I read the last sentence.

My driver pulls over in the front 400 N Michigan Ave, from where I'll have to take a short walk to the cruise. I step out of the car buttoning my Grey jacket. I'm so excited and a little bit nervous too because I've never dealt with an asian brand until now.

I shake hands with Mr. Henry Young, CEO of the company. After some re-discussion and confirmation of the Terms and Conditions, we sign the contract. One of the biggest and most important contracts of my life.

" It would be a pleasure to work with you, Mr. Anderson. " Mr Young says as we shake our hands as gesture a of contract confirmation. " Sir, the pleasure is all mine. "

They make their way out.

" You did it! " Andrew who was standing beside me the whole time, silently screams making me chuckle with excitement and joy, " We did it! " I blurt with enthusiasm while giving him a brotherly hug.

Andrew, on records he's my The senior HR manager but he's like my brother from another mother. I would have never been able to do all of this without him. He's a genius, his advices are always the most helpful and thoughtful.

" There has to be a celebration. Hey why don't you ask your family to come here and we all will celebrate together. " he says being excited, however, making me lose my joy and giving a reality check of my loneliness. I don't have a family.

" Of course there will be a celebration. And this office is my family, you all are my family. " I state trying my best to cut off the topic while moving a steps away from him.

" Come on Man, I know we're your family but I'm talking about, you know, I mean, there has to be someone you love deeply. " he again presses the aching nerve.

Why is he suddenly asking about my family?

" Andrew, love is bullshit, I don't believe in it. " Again trying to close the topic I pick a random file from the table in the center and pretend to focus on it.

" And who's the person behind this disbelieve of yours? ", he snaps like he's asking all this deliberately. I look up at him just to find him already looking at me.

" I mean, only if you wanna share. " he raises his hands in a surrendering manner making me scoff inside my head, should I tell him? I have never spoken about it to anyone.

Maybe.

" There's no one. It's just a silly long story. " I beat around the bush still struggling to collect the strength to share the burden I'm holding from past two years.

" I'm listening. " he looks at me with supportive eyes. I look back at the files drifting again into the debate to tell him or not.

" There was a man lived in my neighborhood, I knew him. He was like my friend. He belonged to a middle class family. His expections from life were not too high, he wanted a simple and peaceful life-- "

" -while his father wanted money. He used to harass him for being the only child in the family, it was his responsibility to support them financially. " I again look at him with thief eyes to find him getting curious.

" His father had made a deal with a rich businessman in the greed of millions of quid. According to the deal, the son was to marry the rich business's daughter--"

" Basically, the rich man wanted to buy his son-in-law with his money and wealth. That greedy man, he blackmailed his son to marry the country's richest businessman's only daughter or else he'd cut his own wrist and commit suicide "

" That was cruel! "

" The son already had a girlfriend whom he had fancied heartly. However, choosing the obvious option he broke up with her and tried to become friends with that rich businessman's daughter-- "

" -she didn't like to talk much, always confused, no courage to stand for herself. From her looks no one could've guessed she was the only daughter of such a famous businessman. While he fancied girls who were out spoken, had nice sense of humor, and definitely not a bibliophile-- "

" --it was like selling his life in exchange of some quid. " I bite my lower lip as my heart starts throbbing inside my ribcage while he's getting more interested convincing me to continue with the story.

So taking a deep breath, I continue," After spending months together they, the son and the rich daughter, became good friends. Eventually they both got married. His father became a 40% share holder in her father's company-- "

" -all the work pressure came on the son's shoulder but that work load was nothing compared to the pressure his father used to make on him. Everything was going fine, his life was on the right track until that morning... "

" What happened? "

" That morning, when he, the son, returned from work after working all night, he saw a note on his bed. He found out that his wife was pregnant but she aborted the baby and left him. " my knuckles become more pale as I scrunch it into a tight fist while all those moments become crystal clear and feel like yesterday.

" She must have found about the whole reason why that guy married her! " Andrew blurts cutting me off.

" That's your opinion, if she had really found out about the deal. Shouldn't she have questioned her father. But instead, she took abortion pills like a coward and ran away! " I grunt and clench my jaws as my face becomes dark shade of red. I'm on the edge to lose control over my anger.

He averts his eyes away from my face, being completely horrified. He gets up to grab a glass of water from the table on the other side, " Hans, I don't think that's the complete story. I mean her anger on the guy was not wrong but no woman would do that to her child unless there's a strong reason behind it. ", he opines still standing on the same spot.

You're saying this because you don't know her as much as I do!

" Andrew, you don't know anything about her." I scoff while I again glance into the file. This time, really trying to focus on it.

" And neither do you. " He gulps to which I turn my eyes at him in reflex.

" Excuse me? "

He takes another gulp as I glare at him. After a few moments, he brings out a book from his bag. A chicklit? He reads chicklits? He passes me that book.

" I don't read chicklits. "

" It's not chicklit. It's a romance novel by Scarlet Snow. This book goes on from the point of view of a female protagonist. I bought this to impress my girlfriend but ended up falling in love with this book. " he explains and I raise a brow.

" Why are you giving this to me? "

" Because you know nothing about women. I mean, maybe that man told you the half story, like, you know, you can never understand a woman. You can never predict their next move. However, as far as I've understood them, they always have a strong reason behind their every move. ", he states making me a little more offended

How dare he take her side instead of mine? He works for me not her!

" I think we went a little off track, I suggest you should leave, Mr. Walker. "

Hello, dear reader. ٩( ᐛ )و

❁ I honestly don't know what to ask, lol. I'm just... not very satisfied with this chapter. It could've been much better.

❁ And, in my defense, I've been feeling so much exhausted, angry and frustrated over nothing lately.

❁ You can give me some advice, if you have any? Something that can light up my mood.

Too screwed to do any good talks thing, lmao. ╥﹏╥
