it's been about a week already, you still couldn't sleep. nothing helped. you even tried sleeping pills which made you tired but you couldn't sleep...
you and Hiro checked the house out and he's already moved in, you just decided to move in next year when you were ready.
"y/n? you look tired, are you okay?" satori asked as you sat in Infront of your sewing machine, sketching designs on your iPad.
"yeah yeah, the weather is... rainy..." you responded halfly, not paying attention whilst you focused solely on the sketch.
"you know what, give me this" satori snatched the iPad out of your hand swiftly, chucking it on your bed as you jumped slightly.
"oh satori, hi! when did you get here?" you got up with a smile, giving him a small hug whilst he cocked his head to the side in confusion.
"y/n... I've been here for the last hour and a half..." he explained, patting your back whilst hugging you back.
"have you? I'm sorry, I haven't been that attentive the last couple of days. how are you anyway?"
"are you okay? you look skinnier than usual...?" his voice started to get hazy, your vision blurring up and down making your hands twitch a bit and your eyes blink like 3 times every 2 seconds.
"I'm perfectly fine, don't worry about me! I'm sure it's nothing" you gave a cherry smile, ignoring your shakey hands as your breathing got a bit heavier.
"Whatever you say, did you wanna get something to eat? I'm starvingggg" tendou rubbed his stomach, grabbing your hand and leading you out your bedroom door.
"do you want me to order something?" you asked as his hand let go of yours.
"Nope, it's our last week of holidays! let's make the most of itttt!" he cheered, giving you his signature goofy smile.
a headache started to ponder through your head as you squeeze your eyes shut, the feeling of being hit in the head by something hurt like a bitch.
"Are you sure your okay? we should get you a doctor..." tendou worriedly spoke, rubbing circles on your back.
the sudden churning of your stomach and the feeling of something coming up your throat made you book it to the bathroom, lifting the toilet seat and throwing everything up.

you felt a pair of hands pull your hair back, tying it into a messy bun whilst you puked in the toilet.
"I'm gonna get you a doctor y/n, I'm getting worried" satori patted you on the back whilst you swung your head low in exhaustion.
what was going on with you? you haven't eaten or slept in days, you had a pounding headache whenever somebody tried to talk to you, every time you listen to music your hardly able to hear it and when you do, it's too loud and you feel stuck.
"Sato, I can't handle this anymore... I haven't slept in so long, I can't eat anything and when I do, I start to vomit... my ears are getting sensitive, and I'm getting so much skinnier and skeletal than before. this isn't normal for me" you started to sulk, the taste of vomit overpowering your mouth as you started to cough.
you looked down at the string of saliva coming down from your mouth or what you thought was saliva.
"y/n, you're coughing up blood? I'm gonna get you to the hospital-"
"no, it's fine. I can take care of myself" to stated, spitting into the toilet before getting up and closing the lid, flushing it with a sigh.
you turned the tap on, washing your hands and face while satori just stood there in worry for you.
"I'm fine Sato, really" you gave him a reassuring smile as he just gave you a nervous nod, walking out after you.
"don't tell anyone about this, I'm trusting you with my life right now," you stated, looking up at him.
he looked as though he wanted to say something until he was cut off by the front door opening.
"oh, hey y/n, tendou" kenma gave us a nod, walking past us with a bag in hand.
"i-"
"please?" you whispered up to tendou who was chewing at his lip, looking down at you with arched brows.
"I'm taking you to a doctor. I won't tell anyone the results or what happened I just wanna know what's wrong." he compromised to which you looked to the side in thought.
"deal. now?"
"Can we go now?" he asked, holding his keys up.
you gave a nod in response, holding up a finger for him to wait for a second as you knocked on kenmas door.

"yeah?" he asked, mouth full of pie as he opened the door.
"I'm going out for a bit, will you be alright alone?" you asked him with a small smile, looking up into his gold eyes.
"Yeah, I'm just gonna be streaming, nothing special" he explained, placing the pie down before pulling you into a hug.
"have fun, don't do anything I wouldn't do" he smiled, closing the door as you left.
you and satori were now sitting in the waiting area, waiting for your name to be called out.
"l/n y/n" my name was called by a woman with black rectangular glasses and pretty black hair.
you and satori stood up, following the lady into her room.
----
"you have insomnia and your at the early stages of pneumonia..." the doctor spoke, her leg bouncing with a sympathetic look on her face as your eyes dropped to the ground.
"i- is - wait...can she die... of those?" satori asked, cocking his head to the side a bit.
"there is a high chance of death yes... she must get medical treatment fast...when was the last time you slept miss?" the doctor asked you.
"Uhm... about a week or 2 ago when I came back from Hokkaido... I haven't been able to eat either. breathing gets pretty hard as well..." you explain, picking at the bandages on your hands.
"vomiting, coughing up blood, finding it hard to breathe, rapid or shallow breaths... have you had a fever or shaking chills?" the doctor read down her clipboard, looking up at you.
"I have... I've been feeling nausea, I haven't been hungry, I've had really low energy. I can't sleep though so I just sew and stuff..." you explained, looking up at the doctor who had a worried look on her face.
"and you haven't been able to sleep... pneumonia is the only thing that it's pointing to right now. you'll need to go to the hospital to get it properly checked out but I can give you some melatonin for your sleeping problem..."
she sighed, spinning around in her chair swiftly.
"...I'm scared y/n" satori mumbled, biting at his nails whilst we walked to his car.
"Why?" you responded, not bothered by the whole thing.
"you have a high chance of death... if pneumonia isn't gonna take you out, starvation sure will. you can't even eat that's the problem..." he panicked, his eyes welling up as you just stood there confused.
"I don't understand... everything just came so suddenly. but it all makes sense now if I'm to die. I'll do it in style! let's plan my funeral" you looked up at the boy with a smile to which he gave a shocked blink in return.
"you're not dying, don't say that..." he mumbled, wiping a tear that fell from his eye whilst he puffed his cheeks out in thought.
"satori" you smiled up to him, stopping where you were.
he turned around, giving you a head tilt in response.
"if I'm to die... tell everyone I went away"
"I'm not doing that y/n."
"it'll make them less hurt"
"y/n, you're not dying"
"you have to"
"I'm not doing that"
"why not?"
"because I'm not"
"that's not a reason"
"because I'll be the only one to know you died. there would be nobody to grieve with, nobody to cry with, nobody to tell about it. I'm not doing that, I'm not being alone in this... I don't want you to die y/n, I don't. your the only person who hasn't run away from me yet..." he explained, tears dripping one by one down his cheeks.
"...if death does come, I hope you'll forgive me for saying I've been waiting for it" you smiled up at him, walking past his wide-eyed figure to his car.
satori was quiet the whole time, didn't utter a single word even though the silence was so loud, it was painful at the same time.
"When will you tell them?" he spoke, cutting through the tense silence.
"I don't...Want to..." you spoke, nails scratching at your wrists painfully deep as your breathing began to hurt. a sharp pain making your breath hitch.
"you have to..." he spoke, turning to you with worrisome eyes.
"I know. I'll let them find out... when I'm in hospital" you turned to look at him, flashing the redhead a big grin with a thumbs up, turning back around as your breathing started to hurt more.

"I get the feeling this story might be one of those 'diamonds in the rough'. The premise is quite solid, there's plenty of room to flesh out the characters. It's quite easy to get into and be engaged by at the moment, imo. I don't know where the story will go from here, but it's off to a good start me thinks." - Xenower Attribution: The cave picture in the book cover is made by Stanislav Sedov and is licensed under CC-BY-SA-2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/ This picture was modified from the original with an overlaid moon and sea picture to be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/ssedov/26342569905 The photographer has no affiliation to Tschallacka nor can be held accountable for the use of this picture the way as it is here.
