Hyein sat in a huge luxurious restaurant, gawking at the interior wide-eyed at a table across Taehyung, who observed her reaction amused. The restaurant was large and fancy, nothing like any of the restaurants she had gone to before. It was luxurious, walls painted and adorned with modern painting and built-in contemporary style architecture. The lights were dim but the restaurant still shined and glittered.
"Who are we meeting today, Mr.Kim?" Hyein asked, not taking her eyes off of a huge painting that hung on the wall.
"No one."
"No one?" She repeated, puzzled as the food arrived. The waitress placed the plates and bowed as Taehyung thanked her before Hyein could do so. She was a little surprised. Taehyung never used to do that.
"Dig in." He said and Hyein looked down at the expensive Steak dish in front of her. It smelled amazing. "Umm, why are we here then?"
"I just had some things to discuss with you."
Oh... Hyein averted her eyes. Though she did accept the job of being his secretary again without much of a fight, she hadn't talked to him. It was tense, but Hyein didn't want to talk. She was still angry with him. He looked towards her.
"How have you been?"
Hyein pursed her lips. "Fine."
"How's your wound?"
"Healing."
Taehyung sighed, exasperated. Hyein didn't respond as she continued silently cutting the meat.
"Hyein.."
"It's Secretary Lee to you." Hyein corrected.
"You are mad."
"Why would I be?" She asked as she rubbed the knife against a particularly stubborn piece of meat and he placed a hand on hers, stopping her.
"I'm sorry."
Hyein scoffed. She placed the knife down on her table and looked at him. "For what?"

"For acting irrationally and for hurting you," Taehyung replied.
"I wasn't hurt." Hyein lied. She didn't want to let him know that he had the power to hurt her.
"Liar."
"What did you call me?" Hyein raised her voice annoyed.
"I called you a liar Hyein," Taehyung replied equally raising his voice.
"No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are."
"I'm NOT!"
"Yes, you ARE!"
By then half the restaurant was watching the exchange taking place with curious eyes. Thankfully the restaurant didn't have any other customers, so that it was just the duo and the restaurant staff, nervously watching, wondering if they should interfere.
"Just shut up and accept it Hyein!" And Hyein shut up. Not because she was intimidated. Mind you.
She huffed, as she took her knife and aggressively began cutting the steak into tiny little pieces.
"Is it because I didn't call you?" Taehyung asked. He hadn't reached out to her after they met at the hospital. He was afraid. And he didn't know what to do...
She breathed out a sarcastic laugh. "Heh, why would I want you to call me?"
"Maybe you didn't." he slumped down in his seat and Hyein looked up.
"...y-yes. I didn't."
Silence. It was awkward. Tension hung in the air. It seemed as if the both of them had lost their appetite as Taehyung stared dejected at the untouched stake and Hyein continued cutting her steak into micro-units. He seemed genuinely upset as he slumped down in his chair, waiting for her, and out of the corner of her eye, Hyein saw the staff subtly watching the drama unfolding in their restaurant. The unwanted attention made her embarrassed. They seemed to have gotten the wrong idea and she felt as if she was the bad guy here. She looked towards Taehyung who had a sad frown on his face. His eyes were downcast and glistening. Don't tell me he's going to cry.

"F-fine. I'll accept your apology or whatever." Hyein stuttered out, embarrassed and half of the restaurant released a heavy sigh of relief. Taehyung instantly perked up from his seat, "Really?"
"Yeah..." Hyein forced out and the smile on his face was so bright Hyein felt as if it could almost rival Hobi's. Almost.
"Oh, but don't be relieved yet. There's still something you've to apologize for.."
Taehyung froze. What else was there?
Hyein picked up the knife and ran a finger along its edge as she began, "Some genius decided to install a Couple's tracker on my phone and hide it among the hidden apps with a lock." She said watching the knife as it glistened against dim light and he swallowed nervously.
"Guess what the password was? One. . . one. . .one," Hyein turned the knife around so that she was holding the knife now ready to stab, "One." She finished.
"I don't like when people touch my phone," She stabbed the knife forcefully into the largest piece of meat that survived, making Taehyung flinch. "Without my permission."
"I-I..." Taehyung paused looking around for an excuse, "It s-saved your life, didn't it?"
Hyein scowled. "That's not the point."
She slammed the knife onto the table and Taehyung flinched again. "How long have you been stalking me through that app?"
Taehyung hesitated, "A f-few months."
Hyein gasped. "Is that how you found out where I lived?" He nodded.
". . . I'm sorry." He apologized cheekily at the glaring secretary, and she sighed.
"I'm only letting you go because it saved both of our lives."
A brilliant rectangular smile graced his lips again and Hyein's stony expression softened considerably. A comfortable silence settled among them and Taehyung seemed to have gained back his appetite as he dug into his food. Hyein merely stared back at the itty bitty pieces that lay chopped on her plate that once used to be her steak. Taehyung seemed to notice her gaze, and when his eyes fell on her plate, he burst into a laugh that upon meeting Hyein's glare, he sloppily disguised it into a fit of awkward coughs. "Do you want me to get you another one?"
"No, It's fine. I don't have much of an appetite anyway." She replied as she reached out for the glass of water beside her plate.
"What did you want to discuss?" Hyein asked, suddenly remembering the reason they were there as she took a sip of her water.
"Oh, that's... "
"Another mission?" There has to be a catch, or else why would he suddenly bring her to an expensive restaurant when all those times she toiled around as his secretary, he did nothing.
"Well, I guess you can say that... Kind of."
"Shoot," Hyein chugged down the glass of water, wanting to discuss business now. It was hella suspicious, why the sudden change? There was certainly some sort of high stakes involved, and from the looks of it, it was something huge. Taehyung paused, building up the suspense. Curiosity was too much that shepaused from drinking.
After a moment of silence, Taehyung said.
"Go out with me."
pichrrt!
Hyein sprayed out the water in shock and dissolved into a coughing fit as some of them got into her esophagus. "Cough! Cough! What?!!"
Taehyung leaned forwards, grinning like a Cheshire cat and he repeated his words in a whisper, one by one.
"Go Out With Me."

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter.
