It wasn't Hyein's day today.
Considering the manual labor she had done the other night, she should have at least asked for a day off, but here she was, at the office, muttering profanities under her breath as she sorted His Highness's schedules. At least he had the decency to look abashed at his behavior. But that doesn't mean he could avoid her all day and give tenfoldmore workload just to get her out of his sight. That was just plain stupidity and cowardice.
If she helped him yesterday, the least he could do was to give her a pay rise or a few days off, or even a reduced workload. But this absolute ungrateful son of a chairman didn't even say a simple sorry or thank you and ignored her the whole day. One or two times she had caught him watching her through the window but as soon she had seen him, he quickly shut off the blinds. Coward.
Hyein did try to catch him alone, just to give him a piece of her mind but he won't allow her inside the office and if he ever went out, he would run away at the sound of her heels. She was not going to lie, it was kind of entertaining to watch him cower at the mere sound of her footsteps. Let's see how long he's gonna run.
Hyein's face formed into an evil grin at the thought. Oh, he is so dead.
###
That evening, luck was on Hyein's side. Taehyung was usually driven back home by her and he couldn't avoid the inevitable. The whole ride Taehyung had sat in the passenger seat, fidgeting nervously, making sure not to make any eye-contact at all. Hyein smirked as she planned her revenge. She let him enjoy the last few minutes of peace before he had to face the inevitable doom. After all, revenge was a dish best served cold.
As Hyein drove the car smirking much to his horror, the car broke down more than halfway down the road.
"What happened? Why isn't it moving?" Taehyung asked, alarmed.

"It might have run out of battery," Hyein replied, casually pulling open the door. When she looked back, Taehyung was still in his seat contemplating whether or not to get out. She walked up to his side and yanked open the door. "The car's not gonna move, Your Majesty. You have to walk."
He sheepishly got out of the car, looking everywhere except Hyein as he tried to form his words, "What about the car?"
"I'll get it towed for you, don't worry."
Luckily, they had almost reached the residential area where he lived and it was just walking distance from his home. Taehyung had his hands in his pocket, his gaze trained straight forward as he walked towards their home. The sky was gradually darkening. He had called the day off earlier than usual. There was enough light, thanks to that, to walk back home. Meanwhile, Hyein was walking by the side, slowly plotting her revenge as she walked in the front, Taehyung behind her obviously putting in conscious effort to remain there so that he wouldn't have to face her. She was aware of what he was doing, and that was why she was puzzled when he suddenly fell in step with her and leaned towards her side.
Taehyung inched towards her and whispered, "We have a tail. 6 O'clock."
At his command Hyein subtly looked towards her sides, eyes scanning the rear and sure enough, there was a figure clad in black clothes, sneakily darting through the shadows following them.
"Go ahead." Taehyung looked startled at her order.
He pondered over the command, silently eyeing her doubtfully before he gave in. "Don't do anything dangerous." He said, still not convinced at whatever she was planning, his voice grave with an undertone of worry that was almost undetectable but still there. She nodded her head as she mouthed, "Trust me."
Hyein slowly pretended to drop her stuff onto the ground and she called out, loud enough so their pursuer would hear but subtle enough not to be suspicious, "Oops, I dropped the key somewhere, you should go ahead, Mr.Kim."

The latter gave her a final look of disapproval and an obvious warning that just seemed to say, Be careful.
(Turn on the media for an immersive reading experience.)
Hyein crouched down on the ground pretending to look around for the keys that were carefully tucked inside her bag while she sneakily kept an eye on the pursuer. The figure had halted as it moved into the shadows to blend in, not to be seen. That's good. At least he won't be able to follow Taehyung now, right?
Wrong.
The figure decided to take a detour to pursue his target. Oh no. That's not happening.
Ever heard of the expression 'Stalking a stalker'? Me, neither. But that's exactly what I'm gonna do.
Hyein rolled up her sleeves determined, a phone ready to call 911 in one hand and her heavy bag firmly secured in another, just in case she needed a weapon and Hyein walked forward as the guy slipped into the nearest alleyway where he could stalk back to Taehyung.
She was right. He was indeed going towards Taehyung. Now's the time to call the police. She didn't care what Taehyung thought about it. She was about to press the call button when the stalker suddenly turned back and noticed her. The guy had a mask on and a hood covering his head so that it was impossible to tell who he was. The guy momentarily froze, surprised at the sight, but as soon as he had registered what was happening, he took off.
Not so fast.
There was no time to call the police, now. He would escape before they would even arrive at the scene. There was only one option left. Chase him.
"Yah!!!" Hyein cried a battle cry as she took off running towards the guy who had dared stalk them. It was a highly arduous task considering that she was in her heels and the guy was running as if his life depended on it, which it did.
"Don't bother! I've called the police and they are on their way!" Hyein yelled in an attempt to discourage the man or at least make him slow down, but it only made him run faster. Now, Hyein was even more determined to catch him. Huffing puffing, ignoring the pain that was now making its way up her legs, Hyein pushed herself forward, her eyes trained only on the target in the front.
She was a bit too concentrated on the target that she did not spot the car that had come rushing out from the right and almost ran into it. Almost.
The car screeched to a halt and the front door opened, but Hyein didn't care. The guy was almost out of sight. She had to catch him-
"Hey!" She felt a tug on her wrist, stopping her from continuing her pursuit. Hyein tugged back furiously trying to get out of the hold, eyeing the stalker but he was gone. At the momentary diversion, he had escaped. He was now out of sight.
Sh*t!
"THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?" She yelled furiously, turning back at the guy who had dared stop her from her hunt. Her breath hitched as she realized the familiar face, the feline smile plastered on it with a hint of bewilderment. Park Jimin.
"Oops, I didn't know you took Freeze-tag that seriously," Jimin replied, holding a hand up defensively but he did not release the grip on her other hand.
"Freeze Tag?" She parroted dumbstruck at his stupidity.
"Anyways, It's nice to see you again!" Jimin exclaimed, ignoring the scathing look that she sent his way.
"It's not." Hyein retorted through her clenched teeth and Jimin feigned hurt. "Aw, that's a shame. I've been waiting to see you."
Hyein ignored the comment as she tugged on her hand trying to make him let go. Hyein had to struggle a bit but in the end, Jimin gave up, smiling. He was testing her. She just knew it.
And then there was the call of doom.
"SECRETARY LEE!"

He murmured, his lips only inches from my own.I blinked, my lips parting, as his heady scent encircled me. He licked his lower lip, running his teeth over it as his electric blue eyes burned into mine. The heat of his bare chest seeped through my thin cotton shirt, thawing my icy irritation."Even when you're being cross." He added in a low voice. He leaned closer, before I could respond, and ran his teeth along my jaw.I suppressed a moan. "I wouldn't be cross if you weren't so keen on irritating me." I said, unable to hide the smile in my voice.I felt his answering smile against my neck. "How can I make it up to you?" He whispered, planting gentle kisses up and down the column of my throat. He moved to the other side of my neck, flicking his tongue once against the mating mark near my shoulder. My hands slid up his abdomen, exploring the dips and hard lines of his muscles. Heat uncurled deep in my belly, spreading lower, and lower, until I felt my panties dampen.
