The phone buzzed on her bedside table and Hyein groaned as she pulled the soft warm sheets away from her face. Who dares wake her up from her sleep this evening? Hyein was going to give an earful. Her fumbling fingers finally found the phone and she held it up, squinting at the light as she groggily rubbed her eyes. It was past 12:30 and Hyein being a sleep lover had slept early that night but that didn't mean she liked her sleep getting disturbed. There was a single text message from none other than Kim Taehyung.

This guy-
"Who does he think he is?" Hyein mumbled to herself, as she dragged herself out of bed, cursing and muttering. It was Sunday night and he wouldn't even let her have a day of her weekend. Yesterday he spoiled her meeting with Hoseok now, he was here disturbing her sleep? The heck was this guy's problem.
Should I just ignore it?
Tsk, Curse you for being nice, Hyein.
Still grumbling she dragged herself out of the room.
------------
The sweet chirps of morning birds woke Taehyung up from his sleep. Though Taehyung was awake, he didn't want to open his eyes. They felt too heavy and there was constant pounding in his head and his throat felt dry and scratchy. The sunshine was warm on his face and it felt nice though the migraine was annoying. Strangely, the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Taehyung hugged his pillow tightly. The pillow felt smooth and warm and it smelled like flowers and fruits. Taehyung couldn't ever remember spraying his bed with floral perfume. He sniffed again. He was sure, it smelt like perfume. Slowly, Taehyung forced his eyes open against the sun. It was a gargantuan task as they felt so heavy but however, he managed to do so. Gradually his eyes gained its focus.
It was then that he had realized that the pillow he was holding wasn't a pillow. It was a human hand. Taehyung screamed as he flung the hand away from himself. His scream had triggered another terrified scream a few octaves higher. Taheyung winced at the sound but strangely it felt familiar. Eerily familiar.

Taehyung's eyes widened as his brain finally registered what was happening. He was lying on his sofa in the living room and the familiar figure sat on the floor near his Sofa. The girl shot him a poisonous glare as she sat on the ground rubbing her hand as she gritted her teeth. Taehyung noticed that she was in her casual clothes than the usual formal attire he had mostly seen her and that made a huge difference in her vibe. She almost felt gentler, more approachable but the vibe was soon gone as Taehyung caught her cold fiery eyes and in the morning sun they shined electric blue.
"W-what are you doing here?" Taehyung asked, surprised.
The glare momentarily turned into utmost surprise then it was soon back on.
"You mean you don't remember anything?" She cried. Taehyung couldn't remember anything from the previous night. All he could remember were hazy silhouettes of people but when he forced himself to remember more, it just intensified his headache.
"No, what happened?" He asked softly massaging his temples to ease his headache.
Hyein sighed dramatically.
This is going to take a while.
-------
Turns out the location he sent her was that of a part club part restaurant place. Hyein hesitated in front of the building but soon she stomped inside, annoyed. Searching through the huge throng of crowds, her eyes fell on a figure sitting alone in one of the wide cubicle tables. Hyein strode up to the table.
"Why did you call me?" The slumped down figure was in a casual suit that emphasized his body frames at the right place, making his look more attractive in the low club light, a glass of glistening liquid in his one hand, his head bowed down. In conclusion, he was a mess. Hyein tutted, shaking her head.
Taehyung looked up and a slow grin spread across his face upon seeing her, the corners of his lips twitching far and wide in a boxy grin. The grin was usually childish and cute but in his drunken state and heavily lidded eyes somehow it ended up being more captivating.

"Aaah.. you're heeeere?" So he was drunk. Wow, just wow.
He patted the seat beside him, the smile still on his face. "Sit." Hyein hesitated but eventually gave in.
"Now tell me, why did you call?" Taehyung giggled, head lolling to the sides. "Hyein-ah...."
"The hell? Hyein? How dare you! Are we close?" Hyein asked furiously, as Taehyung frowned.
"We are not cloose...?" Taehyung asked, the legendary puppy eyes making an appearance on his face. Hyein did not respond as she fixed him with a glare.
"I guess we're not..." Taehyung pouted but then suddenly his eyes lit up with curiosity as he looked towards her, "If we're cloose, would you call me Tae-Tae?"
"What?"
"You called the- the Starbucks guy, Hobiiii" Taehyung imitated the last part with a squeaky sound and Hyein scrunched up her nose in distaste as she sat there folding her hands.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Taehyung poured another drink and swirled the golden brown liquid in his glass before he downed it in one go.
"I think you shouldn't drink anymore, Sir."
"Heh!" Taehyung scoffed as he watched the glass glistening in the light. "Hyeinah~"
"Yes, Si- Stop calling me that!"
"You have beautiful eyes."
Hyein blinked. What did he say? Kim Taehyung just did not freaking say that. Taehyung looked with a lazy smile and he slowly slid towards her from his seat.
"Nonono! Just stay there! Stay!" Hyein ordered, flailing her hands in front of her. Taehyung pouted. "But I want your glasses."
Hyein was wearing glasses instead of her contacts that day. She had grabbed it on her way when she ran out of her bedroom. Contacts took way too long to put in and glasses were more comfortable for her. Taehyung made a whining noise at her delayed response and Hyein took off her glasses.
"Okay, Okay. You can have it." She said as she handed the glasses to him. Taehyung took it with a satisfied grin and placed it upside down on his face as he said, "You are nice."
He was really drunk, huh? Kim Taehyung's mood goes all flirty when he is drunk. Because there was no way in hell he would have said that in his sober state. That gave her an idea. Hyein's hand slowly inched into her pockets. She smiled, the dimples making an appearance on her cheeks as her eyes glinted mischievously.
"Aha, is it? I am nice? What else?" Hyein encouraged Taehyung as he played with her glasses.
"Ummm, your eyes are beautiful," Taehyung replied after a moment of contemplation.
"You already said that." Hyein indicated as she inched closer to him, the object in her hands carefully placed towards his side.
"Uhhh...ah!" Taehyung smiled, "You look cool when you're serious. Like when you completely focus on something, wow..." Hyein could literally see the star-struck eyes shining with admiration as he spoke.
"Uhh, okay... and then?" She laughed a bit awkwardly as she urged him.
"And... I want to-" Taehyung paused, blinking and he looked around.
"You want to?"
Taehyung blinked again before he trained his gaze on hers and all the hint of a childish smile gone from his face. "I want to..."
"Hmm, go on."
"I want to k-"
Taehyung paused. Suddenly his eyes widened and his face had become an awful shade of green. Hyein realized what was happening, too late and before she could slide away from him, it had happened. All within a matter of seconds.
"Bleaaarghhh!"

The Rowan Fox, Tail 1: The Missing Children
Deep in the Maple Woods sits a mountain of old. Humans have claimed it and today a city called Redlog covers it from peak to foot. Meet Josei, one of many medicine makers living in the city of red roofs. Hers is the start of many tales, home to a very special fox. Like foxes often do, this one finds himself plenty of trouble. (Thought I would be gone forever did you? I'm back again! This time with a book that actually has an ending. I know because I've written it. I will be editing each chapter then releasing it here as they're done, probably once or twice a week. It's a shorter tale than what I've written before but that was the goal from the start. I really need to learn how to finish a story so this was a big accomplishment for me. I'll be writing The Rowan Fox in several parts instead, short but hopefully sweet.) (This story is a combination of some of my favorite things: folktales, foxes, ancient forests, and feel good slice of life. I hope you like it!)
