Back in her cozy old apartment Hyein jumped around in her living room. Her phone lay abandoned on the couch and a message from Hoseok left open.
I'm coming to the city today.
It was the weekend and she could finally catch a break from her secretarial duties and the family drama going on between the Kim brothers. Hoseok was going to come and she was super excited about it. Throwing on a coat that she found on the nearest sofa, Hyein headed out to the bus stop where she would be receiving her best friend. It had been months since they had last met. Hoseok had moved back into his hometown after graduation the only way she could keep in touch with him was through phone calls and text messages. Hyein had missed him. She missed his sunny smiles, graceful dances, and their own quirky little gestures which only they knew the meaning of.
A few minutes later a bus came to halt in front of the Stop and out jumped a laughing, auburn-haired Hoseok from the bus and Hyein quickly ran up to him enveloping him in a hug. Jumping around together, much to the annoyance of the passersby Hyein greeted him with delightful giggles. When the initial excitement of the meeting had died down, Hyein and Hoseok had decided to go to the nearby Starbucks and catch up on some stuff.
At the coffee shop, Hoseok sipped on his Iced-Americano, with a thoughtful look on his face. Hyein had just finished narrating the story of her promotion and he seemed to have taken a peculiar interest in the whereabouts of her boss.
"So he hired you to take revenge? Dude, it almost feels like a kdrama!"
Hyein snorted. "Well, he does annoy me from time to time, but I think, mostly he just wanted to clear up his name in the office. Like be the all-forgiving, kind-hearted future heir, you know what I mean?"
Hoseok whistled as he nodded his head, his auburn locks bouncing up and down, "I understand what you are saying but I don't know man. Hiring you as a secretary, saying that it was for revenge... I don't know, sounds kind of stupid." Hoseok commented.

"He is stupid." Hyein corrected with a small smile that had her dimples playing at the corners of her mouth, as she mischievously quirked a brow. That made Hoseok burst out laughing and soon Hyein joined in. It was nice. She had missed it. It brought back memories of her old carefree days, where she roamed around the university hallways with Hoseok, happily chatting away about their days.
"Secretary Lee?"
A surprised yet familiar voice called out, snapping her back to attention. It must be the instinct that had made her immediately straighten her spine as she masked her face with the normal poker face she wore around him. She slowly turned back dreading the sight that awaited her. Taehyung stood by the door, holding his coffee in his hand.
"M-Mr. Kim? W-why are you here?" Hyein smiled awkwardly, looking in his direction as she prayed to almighty that he hadn't heard the conversation she had with Hoseok.
"I-I came to get a Starbucks and I saw you..." Taehyung tailed off as his eyes trailed past Hyein, to the man that sat beside her taking in on the scene with humored eyes. Hyein fidgeted in her seat, not sure how to handle the situation. It was awfully awkward than she would expect and she didn't know why. But most importantly, Hyein didn't know Taehyung liked Starbucks. As far she knew, he never drank them. It was one of his habits she had picked up on the way. The situation was getting more and more awkward and Hyein felt like she had to do something. Was there a polite way to ask someone if they could go away?
"Would you like to join us?" Hyein whipped her head around to Hoseok, aggressively hinting at him to take back the offer at once. Hoseok ignored her as he fixed Taehyung with a stare, smiling his trademark smile. Before she could do anything, Taehyung had nodded his head and almost immediately taken a seat beside Hyein.
"Um, well this is Hoseok, my friend." She introduced Hoseok and the latter bowed in a polite greeting. "And Hoseok, this is Mr.Kim Taehyung, my. . . employer." Hyein introduced them to each other. They both nodded at each other.

It was as awkward as one could get. Neither Hyein nor Hoseok spoke a word as they just exchanged glances at each other and sipped on their drinks just to do something. Though, Hyein couldn't quite say the same about Hoseok. Hoseok seemed curious and excited for some reason and she gave him a questioning look which he promptly ignored.
"Um, what were you guys talking about?" Taehyung asked, trying to ease the tension as he looked around at Hyein and Hoseok. So he hadn't heard. Thank God.
"Well... just normal stuff."
"Like what?" Taehyung asked genuinely curious about their conversation. Hyein kept smiling as she internally grappled around trying to find a reasonable answer.
"Like the weather and stuff?" She replied, more like a question as she internally hoped that he would buy it. Fortunately, he did as he nodded his head.
"H-how is the weather in Gwangju, Hobi?" Hyein turned to Hoseok.
"It's nice, it's slowly getting cold. Autumn's almost here after all." Hobi replied casually, his smile switched to high beam, as the one sitting beside Hyein uncomfortably fidgeted in his seat.
"Same, the cold here is much severe here though," Hyein said, trying to keep the conversation going.
"Make sure you always wear something warm Hyein-ah. Don't go running around in the snow like you used to do. Remember, the flu season is coming up." Hoseok nagged like he used to do.
"Yeah, yeah. I will." Hyein replied, dismissing his warnings with a casual wave of her hand.
"No, seriously. I will be checking up on you. If I ever catch you outside without a coat in winter, you are dead." A strangled sound emerged from beside Hyein which were soon disguised as coughs.
"Are you okay?" Hyein tentatively asked to which he nodded. Seeing that now the attention was fully on him, Taehyung felt the need to speak. He wasn't sure what to say, and in his moment of haste, he said the first thing that came to his mind.
"I guess, you guys are really close." He mentally face-palmed. Why did he say that?
"Well, yes we are. After all, Hyein practically used to live at my place."
Taehyung's eyes widened for a fraction of a second but it was soon gone as he coughed out an awkward laugh. "Ah, I see."
Taehyung's phone buzzed on the table and he answered the call. After a few exchanges of words, he spoke up. "I'm sorry, there was an important call. I have to go."
Hyein smiled, relieved. "Of course, don't mind us. You should go."
"I guess, I'll see you later then," Taehyung said to Hoseok who had nodded with a knowing smile before he went out of the cafe. As soon as he left the shop, Hyein heaved a deep sigh of relief.
"Hyein-ah! You scored a big one, didn't you? You sly girl..." Hoseok exclaimed at her excitedly.
"What are you talking about Hobi?"
"And dumb." Hoseok dramatically rolled his eyes.
"You were watching Taehyung the whole time, you were up to something, weren't you?" Hoseok didn't reply, instead, he flashed his white teeth at her cheekily.
"It better not be what I am thinking, Hobi," Hyein warned and his smile brightened.
"So you are not dumb." Hyein raised her eyebrows indignantly.
"You are the dumb one Hobi. What you're thinking is a horrible idea. You better not be playing any games behind my back." Hyein warned, pointing her fingers threateningly at the latter as he just smiled back.
"Oh, I don't think you'll need my help with this one." Hyein shot him a questioning look as he held up his hands in mock surrender. The mischievous smile slowly spread across his face, his eyes glinting with a foreign glow much to her bewilderment and Hoseok affirmed.
"Cause it's already begun."

8 147An Invisible Girl
Not all Isekai is Human This is the story of the last survivor of her race, who is offered the option to be reborn in another world to continue the fight against the monsters that consumed her species. The new world is a horrible death world. It is filled with both beauty and horror, strange sentients of various types and perhaps the most dangerous monsters ever conceived. Humans. Two aliens. two violently opposed cultures. Is One little world big enough for both of them? First note: Please don't expect immediate action and slaughter and sex. There's a lot of conversation, drama, and interaction, as she learns about her new world. Second note: This is not 'humans as monsters'. It is more like "There are monsters, but humans can make their own". Technically I guess it qualifies as a system apocalypse, but it never really hits the apocalypse parts. Third note: This IS a Litrpg and the 'classes' provide some superhero-style action, eventually. It isn't strictly superhero, though. a lot of bits are contemporary fantasy, some are pure sci-fi, and some are superhero, depending on how people choose their new abilities. The overall theme is technically sci-fi, but soft like a baby. Fourth note: there is some sexuality (not sex) involving a protagonist in a 17-year-old body. Her mind is over 50 years old, though, and the body was created at that age in order to give her 6 months' leeway to learn to be human. This is not juvenile sex stuff, as the character is fully adult, just not adult as a Human.Plus it's mostly included for humor and alien context.
