His dark hair pushed back in a neat manner with his neatly shaven face. His dark eyes staring into my blue ones, as if he could see through my soul. His lips curved in a smirk and he eyed me up and down.

"Ace", I breathed.

His smirk grew wider and he took a step forward.

I took a step backwards.

He moved closer and I kept on moving away, until I hit the wall.

After closing the distance between us, he pulled me by my waist towards him.

I gasped at the sudden action.

He bought his hand up and brushed my cheek ever so softly. With his fingers under my chin, he made me look up at him.

I looked in his eyes but he stared into my soul.

"Still so beautiful", he whispered as he moved his face closer, our lips inches apart.

Is he going to kiss me?

As if cold water was splashed on me, realization hit me. This is wrong, so fucking wrong.

With all my strength, I pushed him away. He looked startled for a second, as if he did not see that coming.

"What do u want Ace, what are you doing here?", wasn't hurting me enough for you that you're here now?, I wanted to add, but stopped myself just in time.

"Babygirl, is that how you greet someone?", he asked me with that cocky smirk on his face.

"Don't call me that", I said with gritted teeth.

"Aww, did I make you upset?", he remarked sarcastically and continued, "do you really think I would believe the lies that stupid bitch Elena told me?"

"Don't call her a bitch, she was only trying to protect me. At Least she lied for a good reason", the words left my mouth before I could stop them.

His smirk washed away, replaced with a furious expression, mixed with something else that I couldn't tell.

"Don't fucking say that to me little girl. No one, and I mean no fucking one can protect you better than me", he said with anger dripping in his voice.

He twisted my hand behind my back.

"Do you fucking get that?", he asked him with a monster in his eyes. The monster he was.

"Ahh, Ace you're hu-hurting me..", I said as a tear slipped my eye.

He immediately let go of me.

"FUCKKKKK, why do you always have to say things that make me lose my control", he said more to himself with his head in his hands.

I took this opportunity to quietly sneak away. But before I could make a run out of the classroom, his eye caught my movement and within the flash of an eye, he caught me.

"Don't you dare run away from me babygirl. I won't-", before he could finish his sentence, his body was thrown against the ground with a loud thud.

The person kicked him in his balls multiple times with a few punches on his face.

A girl, it was a girl.

Hot pink hair, aquamarine eyes, with a skeleton locket around her neck, she punched Ace with such force that it looked painful even by just looking at it.

The snake tattoo around her neck was a symbol that showed how strong she is.

She wore a black t-shirt with silver trousers.

It was then after a few minutes, when Ace got out of his trance and started hitting her back. He held her neck and punched her stomach hard.

She kicked his balls multiple times, making him groan and hold himself in pain. That's when she somehow got out of his strong hold.

"Run!", she yelled at me and took me by my arm.

We ran through the corridors with such might, as if our life depended on it.

Well, it kinda did.

After some minutes, when I was sure Ace wasn't following, we stopped and gasped for breath.

"Oh my God, that was fun", the girl grinned while trying to catch her breath.

I laughed," Thank you so much".

"Aww it's okay. Don't thank me, I couldn't let that mother fucker hurt you", she said.

"By the way, I'm Zoya", she brought her hand out for a handshake.

"I'm Rose", I said while extending my own hand forward.

"Are you new?", she asked me curiously.

"Um, yea haha".

"Oh, well-", she started saying something but stopped mid sentence.

She looked behind me. "Oh um, I should go now. Nice meeting you", she said and ran away towards the opposite direction before I got the chance to say anything.

Huh?

What just happened?

"Rose!", I heard my name being yelled at. I turned around and saw Alex with a really tired and worried expression.

"Oh my God! I've been looking for you for an hour. Where were you!? And who was that girl? Was that Zoya?", he asked me all at once.

"Oh um, yeah. I'm fine, just looking around the new school. I got lost. And yea, it was her. You knew her?", I asked him.

I decided not to tell him about Ace, he would freak out for sure.

"Fuck, don't talk to her. She's not good company, she's just a troublemaker. Most people avoid her, you should too. And next time when you roam around, take someone with you because you are new and you don't know much about directions here yet. I was so worried", he told me and hugged me.

"It's okay Alex, I'm fine. Don't worry about me", I told him.

"No. We can't lose you again. I don't wanna lose you", he said with his voice muffled as he hugged me.

I chuckled, "okay".

"Omg, how was your first day!", Dean asked me as soon as I entered the house.

"It was okay".

"Rose, I bought you a teddy bear because you went through your first day of school like such a strong girl", Julian walked towards me with a big teddy in his hands as he patted my head as if I was a baby.

"I'm not a baby", I said with an annoyed expression.

"To us you are", Elijah chuckled.

I still kept that annoyed expression on my face but inside I was grinning like an idiot. That teddy was so cute!

I took the teddy from Julian and started walking up to my room.

I was halfway through the stairs when I heard voices from downstairs.

"I think she liked the teddy bear", Rayan said.

"Of course not, she loved it. I saw her smile", I could hear the smugness in Julian's voice even from here.

I giggled.

"Happy by just a teddy, babygirl?", someone asked.

I looked up and saw Ace standing there.

"Wh-what are you doing her-here...?", I asked him, the bewilderment clear in my voice.

"Why so shocked? You know you can't run away from me", he said with his signature smirk, his arms folded on his chest.
