~~ dreams pov ~~
she sat on her couch with some broken glasses, and some hairstyle that was basically all fallen out, but she still looked like the most beautiful girl i'd ever seen. something about her just radiated joy and warmth.
a big grin spread on my face. i started to say something but nothing came out.
jesus clay, get it together. its just a girl.
"nice to see you! im surprised youre not a creepy old man catfishing me." i finally said to her and she rolled her eyes with a smile.
"i could say the same for you ." she said and stuck her tounge out. i chuckled and returned the gesture.
"i know youre apprecating the view loser dont deny it" i teased at her and her face flushed. it was that easy? this was gonna be fun.
~~ y/n's pov ~~
this was clay, looking at me with a giant smile on his face. i noticed his soft green eyes with a small twinkle as we looked at eachother.
" nice to see you! im surprised youre not a creepy old man catfishing me." he said with a laugh. i joking rolled my eyes and said,
"i could say the same for you" sticking my tounge out. he did the same and said,
"i know youre apprecating the view loser dont deny it". i blushed slightly then remembered he could see me and reddened more. i tried to hide it but he saw. he laughed and shook his head.
"blushing looks nice on you."
a genuine compliment? my face was going to explode at this rate, i was smiling so hard. what is happening to me?
i took a deep breath and looked back up at my screen. he was sitting back in his chair, grin ever present.
"thank you dumbass. but as much as i love the never ending teasing, i kinda have some work to do" i said to him with a sad pout.
"alright alright ill let you work, i won this round though" he said and i grinned. ill let him think that.

i had worked for a couple hours, just listening to the rain outside and occasionally joking with dream. we clicked so easily it felt like we knew each other forever.
i finished the video for sapnap and sent it his way. as i waited for a text back i let out a sigh of relief.
"i'm finally done! thank lord i can take these stupid glasses off" i said and shook my hair out.
"dang it, you looked so pretty"
clay had muttered something under his breath, but i still heard it fine. an idea popped in my head and i grinned.
"did you say something? i heard muttering but couldn't make it out" i said innocently.
"what? oh no i didn't say anything" he said flustered.
"no please tell me, i'm sure it was important" i continued, trying to hide my amusement.
"seriously it was nothing, just move on y/n" he turned to the side and mouthed a few words to himself before turning back.
"alright if you say so. i'm glad you like the glasses though, you're probably the only one" i responded casually and watched as his face turned to suprise and then replaced with a mischievous grin.
"oh so you did hear me? well it stands true, i thought you looked amazing in those dirty glasses" he said unfazed as he leaned back.
my stomach did flips. he called me pretty? i shook my head. i looked like total shit, he had to be messing with me again.
"oh really, i'm sure you also love my paint stained sweatshirt" i said sarcastically, trying to hide the slight disappointment i had.
"yeah, as a matter of fact i do. the blue spot brings out your eyes." he said looking up at me.
i stared back at him.
"my eyes are brown." i deadpanned. however, as i stared into those green eyes, my heart skipped a beat.
"i know, i know!" he tensely laughed. "but jokes aside, you are really pretty." there was not a trace of joking in his voice this time.

"wait.. really? you're not just kidding with me?" i said in shock, trying not to accept the fact that this might actually be happening.
"you thought i was kidding? i would never joke about that, i really meant it."
my heart started racing. i'd gotten compliments from plenty of people before but this one was different. it felt more meaningful, more sincere than most.
"oh well, thank you so much. you're not so bad yourself you know" i said sincerely.
"yeahhhh, i thought so. also.. 2-0" he said, obviously proud he had turned my plan against me.
"not fair." i said sulking as i leaned back on my couch and crossed my arms. i finally remembered my phone and checked it quickly.
sapnaps video was blowing up, and he was gaining subscribers by the second. i beamed with pride and sent him a congratulatory text.
i then noticed a text from the one and only george.
george- alright y/n i give in, you can be my editor too. no need to hound me anymore
y/n- oh george you're TOO kind. what took you so long? jealous of sapnap?
george- as if! i just wanted to see if you had what it takes to live up to the george not found name. seriously though, you wanna help me out? :))))
y/n- of course i will you big dummy. let's call soon i've got some stuff to catch you up on.
"you really started a trend you know," i said to clay as i typed. he questioned me so i continued.
"you know, making the excellent choice of hiring me. many others have followed in your footsteps. i am now the proud editor of the whole dream team" i said in a joking manner and he laughed.
"i knew i was right about you, might as well make you an honorary member"
i started to speak but my response was cut by a loud knock on my door.
"wait just one second, someone's at my door." i said to clay and muted myself. i walked over and opened it, to see my landlord holding a slip of paper.
"hey y/n ive got some... bad news. the apartments are getting bought by a new owner, and they're raising rent by a lot. it's due in two weeks, just wanted to let you know." they said, and walked off.
i looked at the paper and all the joy i had got sucked out of me. even with working for all 3 of them, there was no way i could afford this. after two weeks i would have nowhere to live, what am i gonna do? i couldn't buy a new apartment by myself in 2 weeks!
i walked back to my computer, tears forming in my eyes. i tried blinking them away as i sat down, but dream noticed.
"y/n? are you alright, what happened?" he asked, concerned.
"yeah it's just, i'm getting kicked out of my apartments in a couple weeks. a new buyer is coming and there's absolutely no way i can afford it now." i said, defeated. i loved this apartment and in one minute, it got yanked from me. i crumpled the paper and threw it to the side, burying my head in my hands. i knew dream was seeing me cry, but for the first time in my life i didn't care.
"oh y/n i am so sorry. is there any way i can help?" i shook my head, unable to speak.
"wait, you might not believe me, but this is actually perfect." clay said and i lifted my head.
"perfect? no offense, but how is me getting kicked out of my apartment perfect to you." i said, trying to not get mad but failing.
"no i didn't mean it like that, wrong wording. i'm sorry. i just meant there's a way this can be fixed, maybe even better than what you have right now. can you hold on for a second?" he apologized and i nodded my head.

UPDATES TUES/THURS after chapter 5 Cover art by Tumblr User: @pigeon-princess This book features characters that are related to in many ways to my other novel "Grimoire". While both stories are their own stand alone series, Sun God's Corruption will add a good amount of depth to Grimoire, and Grimoire shows the unfoldings of the world that will eventually come from the events in Sun God's Corruption. I reccomend reading them both interchangably.
