"T!" I shouted, tackling the antelope in a bear hug.
"R!
"Yeah! It's me!" I said.
"R! Is that really you? I missed you so much!" he said.
"By the way, I go by the name Trix now." I said.
"Cool! I'm Torin now." he said.
"Do you know what happened to I?" I asked.
"Well..." he started, his voice cracking. My eyes widened.
"Is she? You know..." I asked, tears pricking my eyes. The team had come over to see what was going on.
"Is this the guy you told us about? T?" Amy asked.
"Yeah! I can't believe he's here! In this very town. But... I didn't make it." I said.
"What do you mean, you didn't make it?" Tails asked.
"Oh, no. There was another test subject. She was Subject I. We addressed each other by our letters. I was R. Torin was T and I was... well, I.
"So you're I?" Knuckles asked scratching his head.
"No I's name was I." I said.
"But, that's what I said, isn't it? I'm confused." Knuckles said.
"But, I found this in her pocket." Torin said, handing me a worn out bracelet made of faded red string, a bolt and a nut. A tear rolled down my face. I rolled up my sleeve, revealing an identical bracelet, except that it was dark blue. I had also found it in my pocket.
"We made these with loose strings from our clothing and the nuts and bolts that we found lying around in dusty corners." I said choking on my words.
"I'm sorry." Amy said, putting a hand around me. I fished an item from my pocket. It was a folded piece of paper. I unfolded it, revealing a picture of the two of us.

"We took this when we secretly disassembled a robot guard and messed around with his built in camera." I said.
"You two must have been really close." Tails murmured.
"Yeah, especially since the only other person was this doofus!" I joked, elbowing Torin and smiling. I wiped a tear from my cheek. "At least she's someplace better now."
I took the bracelet from Torin and tied it onto my wrist along with the one that was already there.
"We'll defeat Chimera and avenge her." Sonic said.
"What the hell! Are you guys crazy? Only fools would attack Chimera willingly." Torin said.
"You can call it foolishness. We call it heroism." Tails said.
"We can't just stand around while he builds a mutant army!" Sticks said.
"Well, if you put it that way... I guess my time there really made me fear Chimera a lot more than I'm supposed to." Torin said.
"We have so much to catch up on! How about you come over to ours after lunch?" I asked.
"You live with these guys?" he asked, nodding towards my friends.
"Yeah, well, I live with Tails." I said, gesturing towards the yellow fox. They eyed each other in a not-so-friendly way. I wondered why.
Torin joined us at our table and we ate lunch together. Torin and Tails kept glaring at each other. It was really getting on my nerves. Why did they hate each other?! They barely met!
Tails P.O.V
Ok, I've got to admit. I've been a little bit if not overly obsessed with Trix lately. I was planning on asking her to go to the ball with me, and I felt pretty confident about it.
That is, until this slick, cloven-hooved Torin turns up.

Here's what really happened at Meh Burger...
Me, Sonic and Knuckles were at Meh Burger waiting for the girls. Amy texted me saying that getting across town was a bit tricky since Trix kept on sightseeing.
A lot of girls were harassing us in the meantime. They kept asking for a picture together or started flirting with us.
Sonic and Knuckles kept showing off to impress the ladies but I sat still in my chair, waiting for my order, despite the numerous teenage girls flirting with me. Like I said, I liked Trix a lot and I'm a loyal and faithful guy, even though we weren't in a relationship.
When Trix, Amy, and Sticks arrived, I shooed the crowd away so that Amy wouldn't get mad. She gets really mad when people flirt with Sonic. Amy still looked a bit suspicious but she didn't say anything.
Anyway, when they arrived, I was staring at Trix most of the time, and this guy at another table kept glaring daggers at me.
Then, when Trix saw him, she was ecstatic and tackled him in a hug. I felt a pang of jealousy hit me square in the chest as they laughed and chatted. As we were going back to our table, Torin pulled me aside.
"Listen carefully. Trix is my girlfriend. Stay away from her." he growled. We sat down at our table and glared at each other for the whole meal.
I had to admit I was really disappointed that Trix had a boyfriend. Why didn't she ever tell us?
Trix, Torin and I went back home. Trix asked me if Torin could stay in the workshop as well. I couldn't say no to her. I accepted and set up a mattress on the ground.
"Well, we're going for a walk in the woods to 'catch up'." Torin said, smirking as he put his arm around Trix's neck. I felt another pang of jealousy.
"Actually, I was planning on working on weapons to defeat Chimera with Tails. You should join us!" she said. This time, it was my turn to smirk. Inventing was my strong suit. I would be able to impress Trix. Torin scowled at me.
"Score one for Tails." I whispered under my breath.
"What was that, Tails?" Trix asked.
"Nothing, just trying to calculate the ideal mass of the projectile in this new energy canon I'm going to start making. I think I should write it down somewhere." I said.
Trix and I worked on the canon while Torin tried to look smart to no avail.
"I told you you should have read that book on mass, velocity, and gravity!" Trix joked.
"I told you, I don't like reading!" Torin said.
"But books are the fountain of knowledge in which-" Trix started, who was interrupted by Torin finishing her sentence.
"the mind can bathe to enrich itself and lead a better life." Torin said.
"So you do listen to me when I tell you those kinds of things?" Trix asked.
"Well, yeah! Of course I do! I always listen." he said. Maybe they actually were a couple. Well, only one way to find out...
"So, how long have you two been together? I bet the story is really romantic! Tell me all the details." I said. Torin looked at me wide-eyed before scowling, knowing the I had won that round.

Unlimited Evolution narrates the struggles of a young man from earth who gets the short end of the stick even in a different world. After a betrayal that resulted in his death, he wakes as a monster in a dungeon where even his fellow monsters saw him as nothing but food. The story will be a little slow-paced in the beginning and the battles will be calculated, brutal, and short. The litRPG element will be there and the system plays an important role in world-building. I'll try to explore each and every character I introduce as much as I can. Hopefully, I do a good job in that aspect. **I hope you enjoy this book of mine.**

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."
