How was your Valentine's Day?
Athena's POV
It's already been a week since Lucy came by to talk about our wedding preparations. It's actually been a pretty nice and calm week. Max took me out on a few dates and he never fails to amaze me.
For now, I am very bored so I have been drawing for the past two hours. "Well that looks okay," I said as I examined my drawing. I need to clean the edges a little bit and shade the corners a little better.
"Miss Athena, would you like me to make you something for lunch," Bea, Max's personal chef, asked me. "Oh yes Bea. What about a chicken burger and fries also cucumber salad with capsicum," I said while my mouth started watering from the thought of food. "Whatever you desire Miss Athena. It will be ready in less than an hour," she said. I thanked her just before she left for the kitchen.
Gathering all my pencils from the table and into my pencil case, I started thinking of things to do so that I don't get bored. I could clean my closet.
Deciding to organize my closet, I started walking up the stairs. Just as I was about to go into my room, my attention was directed to the door at the end of the hall, which opened to Max's room.
Walking up to the door, I realised that I have never been in his room before. As a matter of fact, we always sleep in my room. I remember he even told me at first not to go in his room. One peek won't hurt, right?
"Maybe I shouldn't," I thought to myself as I pulled my hand away from the door knob. Maybe there is something that he is hiding. My hand is itching to twist the knob.
"Remember Delia, curiosity killed the cat," I said to myself as I turned and walked into my room. Sighing, I decided to occupy myself for a bit. I went into my closet with my laptop in my hand.
Putting on Jane the virgin, I started to fold my clothes while watching the show. Well it seemed to be distracting me pretty well.
Shortly after, there was a knock on my bedroom door. Getting up and walking back into my room, I walked to the door and opened it.

"Hello Maria," I greeted her as I saw her standing in front of me. "Hello Athena, I am sorry to disturb you," she said making me shake my head. "Oh not at all. You don't need to say sorry," I said with a smile. "I wanted to give you this so that you can go put it in Mr Knight's closet. It is his tuxedo that was sent to dry cleaning," she said as she handed me the tuxedo which was in those huge black clothe cover. I am not really sure what they are called.
"Well can't you put it yourself," I asked as I was confused to why she was asking me to do it. That turned out to sound rude. "I didn't mean to sound rude," I said quickly. She looked at me with a smile while shaking her head.
"No worries. It's just that none of the maids are allowed in Mr Knight's room in his absence. So since you are his fiancee, you could go in," she said. "Yes of course," I said. We talked a little more before she went back to work since we didn't really get time to hang out lately.
Now I have to go in to put his tuxedo in, right? Walking out of my room, I made my way to the end of the hall. "Why am I making such a big deal out of it," I asked to myself.
I grabbed the knob and twisted it to open the door. As I entered his room, I was hit by a wave of his musky fragrance. The decor in here is mind blowing. It screamed masculinity and sophistication.
The dark gray wood covered the entire wall where the bed was against and the other walls were painted a shade lighter than the wood wall. Walking in, I could hear the sound of my footsteps on the wooden floor with every step I took. The windows sported huge plain black curtains that draped to the floor.
Looking around, my attention was drawn to canvases covered with pieces of cloth. I know that Max paints as well so it's probably his work. I should really put the tuxedo in his closet because it's weirdly heavy and my arms are starting to hurt.
After putting the tuxedo in, I came out of his closet and walked to the curtains. Pushing them open, I saw that there was no window but glass wall which were hidden behind the huge curtains. The view from here is just amazing. I would love waking up to this.

Closing the curtains, I decided that it was time for me to go as I did enough exploring. Just as I was about to leave, I saw the silk cloth glide down revealing the painting of a body. It was a woman's body, portrayed in a very sensual way. She was dressed in a big shirt but you could see the outline of her breast peeking through the shirt. Her face was not in view as she had her head thrown back.
I walked closer to the painting to examine it when something caught my eyes. On her left hand, there was a ring around her middle finger. Looking down at my hand, I was not sure if what I was thinking was right. There was enough details on the painting for me to confirm that the ring in the painting and the ancient ring that I always wear.
"Is that me," I muttered in a low voice as I contemplated the painting. Pulling off the silk cloth from the other canvas standing right beside the first one, I gasped when I saw a close up painting of my side profile where I looked like I was sleeping.
I started looking at the rest of the paintings that were pilled up behind and there were a lot of paintings of me. At that moment, I was completely baffled by all this. I unknowingly started to smile as I looked at the paintings. I guess I was not the only one drawing the person I fell in love with.
Putting the cloth on the canvases, I decided that I spent more than enough time in his room already so I better leave. Turning towards the door, I jumped in fright when I saw that there was someone standing at the door. Placing my hand against my chest, I felt my heart racing.
"You scared me, Max," I said as I breathed heavily. "I was looking all over for you," he said as he walked towards me. He pulled his hands out of his pant pockets and snaked them around my waist. Well good thing that he doesn't sound mad. Maybe he is not mad that I came here.
"I came to put your tuxedo in your closet," I said not really sure how to react as I was just caught red-handed. "Did you like the paintings," he asked me making my eyes widened. Oh shit he saw.
"I didn't mean to invade your privacy, Max. The cloth fell down and I just saw the painting," I said feeling ashamed. "No no little dove, why would you say that. You are my fiancee and this room is equally yours so don't say that," he said making me frown.
"But you said I wasn't allowed here," I said as I was confused. "Well that was at first and also I wanted to surprise you with paintings later. That is why I didn't want you to come here. Anyways so do you like them," Max asked me as he stroked my cheek with his thumb.
"They are beautiful," I whispered as I looked into his gorgeous brown orbs. "I also love your room," I said as I looked around. "It suits you a lot," I added. He chuckled as he cupped my face.
"I missed you," he whispered in my ear. I could feel my cheeks heating up. "Wait a minute, aren't you supposed to be at work," I said as I composed myself. I swear this man makes me lose my senses.
"Well I wanted to have lunch with my fiancee," he said as he pushed a strand of hair away from my face. "But that is going to have to wait because there is something else that my loving fiancee needs to take care of," he said as he pushed the door close with his feet. He then picked me up and started walking towards the bed.
"Max, Bea and the other maids are still here," I said as I knew exactly what he had in mind. "Oh love, the walls are soundproof," he said as he chuckled. This man is going to be the death of me.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
