Athena's POV

Waking up, I stretched my arms as I sat onto my bed. I reached out to the side and patted the spot where I expected to find Max sleeping but I was disappointed to find it empty. I must have overslept.

Just as I was about to get out of the bed, the door opened, revealing a fully dressed lover of mine. "He hasn't left yet," I said to myself as I felt little tingles of happiness on the insides. "Good morning love," he said as he made his way towards me.

"Good morning, Max," I said as I practically eye raped him. "You seem in a very good mood today," he said as he placed a small kiss on my forehead. "You could say that," I said.

"Go freshen up, so that we can have breakfast together," he said as he took my hands and pulled me up. Nodding, I ran into my bathroom and brushed teeth.

After finishing, I went to join Max who was waiting for me in the kitchen. As I was passing by him, he slipped his arm around my waist in one swift motion and pulled me into his chest. "Max," I said as I breathed heavily.

Looking up into his brown eyes, I caught him smirking at me. "You are so beautiful," he said as he caressed my cheek with him thumb. "Thank you, Mr Knight," I said as I slipped my hands behind his neck.

He started leaning towards my face and I got on my tiptoes to meet him half way. Just as I was about to close my eyes, I heard someone gasp behind me. As a reflex, I tried to push Max but in vain. His arms were holding me strongly in place, not giving me the chance to escape.

"Yes Maria, what is it," Max said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "I am deeply sorry to disturb you, sir, but your mother has just arrived and is requesting for your presence in the living room," Maria said. "Escort her in here, Maria," he said. Maria nodded before leaving.

"So where were we," Max said as he looked back down at me. "Let me go, Max. Your mom is going to be here," I said as I felt my cheeks heat up uncontrollably. "You are so adorable that I want to squeeze you tightly," he said. He then quickly leaned in and pecked my lips before letting me go.

Just then, Lucy appeared, walking through the doors. "Good morning, Mama," Max said as Lucy hugged him. "Good morning honey. It's been so long," she said as she placed a kiss on his cheek. They are just adorable.

"Athena sweetie," Lucy said as she came and hugged me. "Hello Lucy," I said as we pulled away. "It's great that I got to see the both of you guys together. I have been meaning to discuss this with you," she said seeming all excited.

"Why don't you sit down and have breakfast with us, mama? We could talk in the meantime," Max said and she nodded. Max called for the maids who served us all breakfast and then left shortly after.

"So I was wondering when you guys want to have your wedding," she said. At that moment, I nearly choked on my juice. Max gently patted my back. "Are you okay, sweetie," she asked and I nodded. "Yea so do you guys have a date in mind? Because you know organising a wedding takes a lot of time and-," she kept going on as I got lost in my thoughts.

Looking at Max, he didn't seem fazed by the conversation at all which is frustrating me even more. I mean we just confessed our love for each other but we never talked about what's next. I don't even know if I am still his fiancee. I don't even know if this is going too fast. What am I supposed to do?

"Mama, you don't need to worry about anything. We will hire the best wedding planner and also we don't have to rush things at all. So you don't have to do anything. Just worry about what you are going to wear," Max said calmly.

"Yes Lucy, you don't need to stress over this. I will let you know if there is anything I need help with," I said as I didn't know what else to say. "If that's what you people want. Anyways , look at the time. I need to get going," she said as she got up and placed a kiss on both of our cheeks. "Do come and visit more often, okay," she said to us before heading out.

My mind was still wandering around the wedding thing. "Max," I said as I watched him eat his fruits. "Yes love," he said. "About the wedding, do you want this? I mean there is no contract anymore and-," I started but was quickly interrupted by him.

"Do you not want to get married to me," he suddenly asked. I could sense the slight sadness in his voice. "That's not what I meant," I said as I rubbed my forehead with my hand. "Don't you think that it's going too quickly? Marriage is a huge commitment and I don't want you to regret it," I said. For some reasons, my voice cracked when I said that. Maybe I was scared that he actually regrets it.

He chuckled while shaking his head. "Little dove, do you really think that I would regret it? You are the woman that I am in love with. I am not letting you go when I finally got you. So Athena Demetrius would you still marry me," he said.

"Of course I want to marry you, you dumdum. It was just that since we didn't really clear it out earlier so I didn't really know what to really say," I said as I closed my eyes and cupped my face with my hands.

"You do not have to complicate things in your head. As simple as it is, I love you and you love me. Nothing in between. Simple," he said as he slipped his hand under my chin and pulled it up to make me look at him.

"It's not that simple Max. I do agree that I tend to overthink things but I really can't help it. I mean come on, this doesn't involves just us. It has my mom and your parents involved. They all cared about us and if they knew that we were pretending, it would be hurtful to them," I said as I felt a pang of guilt wash over me.

"Hey, love, you need to stop beating yourself about this, okay," he said as he rubbed his thumb against my cheek. I somehow found comfort while being his arms. "Whatever happened was for the best. Now I have you in my life and this surely makes me the happiest man on Earth. The thought of having you next to me for the rest of my life is something I am really looking forward to," he said.

"Oh no, love. Why are you crying," he said as he started panicking. I didn't realise that tears were sliding down my cheeks until he said so. "It's just happy tears, Max. I love you," I said as he wiped the tears away with his thumb.

"I love you too, little dove," he said before claiming my lips into a kiss filled with emotions. I couldn't help but smile against his lips as he was really opening up to me and telling me what he thinks and feel.

"Oh. Not good timing," I heard someone say, making me push Max away. He almost fell off the chair due to my swift movement. I heard him groan in frustration. "Sorry to disturb you sir. I'll come back later," John, who was the person who interrupted us, said before leaving

"What is it with everyone bursting in? I can't even kiss my fiancee in peace in my own house," he said as he looked angry. I started laughing at him. "You are impossible," I said as I squeezed his cheek childishly.

"Aren't you getting late by the way," I said as I looked at the wall clock. "I might as well just stay home today and we take this upstairs. I'll make sure no one disturbs us there," he said. I looked at him as my eyes widened.

I felt my cheeks heating up so I quickly looked away. He started laughing at me, making me glare at him. "You are so adorable. I actually need to get going now. I'll be back early though, love," he said as he placed a kiss on my forehead.

"I love you," I yelled out as he walked out. "I love you too," he screamed back, making me smile like crazy.
