Have you ever been in love before?

Athena's POV

Slowly and reluctantly, I pulled the blanket off of my face. I blink, close my eyes and blink again. The rays of sunlight penetrates the room through the window and blinding me. I was about to sit up when I felt Max's arm on my stomach, pinning me to the bed.

Just then, I remember the events of that night. I can't believe that all of this happened. I told Max my deepest secret, the past that has been hunting me. Max's words kept playing in my mind. "You are the strongest woman I have ever met. I am proud to call you my fiancee," the words brought a smile on my face.

Max started to move, making me freeze in place. He was sleeping on his stomach and I couldn't see his face. Turning towards me, he smiled as he saw that I was awake. "Good morning, little dove," he said in a husky voice.

"Good morning, Max," I said with a wide smile. "Someone seems really happy today," Max said as he leaned his face towards me.

I quickly put my hand on my mouth, blocking his lips to make contact with mine. He looked at me with a frown. "I have morning breath," I said as pushed his arm from my stomach with my free hand and ran to the bathroom.

I could hear him laughing as I ran. While I was brushing my teeth, he joined me and started brushing his teeth. I kept seeing him staring at me a couple of times. When I would catch him, he would just smile at me with toothpaste foaming. I couldn't help but laugh at how cute he is being.

A few hours passed and Max already left for the meet up. I actually was just sitting around and drawing. I have taken a great interest in drawing Max and I have a feeling that it would be the creepiest thing if he finds my sketchbook.

It's just there is always his face floating around in my head. He is perfect from the depth of his brown orbs to his deep raspy morning voice. He has the kind of face which will make you stop and stare. Just one look from him makes me weak to the knees. His tousled dark brown hair, which was think and silky smooth, made my hands ache to touch it. This man will truly be the death of me.

I was brought out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. Opening it, I saw Ethan standing there with a smile. "Hey Ethan, I'm ready we can leave," I said as I grabbed my dear backpack and join Ethan out.

After a few minutes, we finally reached the place. Ethan opened the door for me and helped me out. After thanking him, I followed him through the back door as it was so crowded in the front.

As we got inside, I saw Max talking to some guys. Looking up, he finally saw me so he made his way to me. As he reached me, he grabbed my chin and pulled me into a sweet little kiss. I couldn't help but blush as he pulled away.

"Make yourself comfortable, little dove. I still have a lot of things to do," Max told me and I nodded. Ethan followed me and we both took a seat. Slowly, the front doors were opened and people made their way inside and took a seat. As everyone finally settled in, we all patiently waited for Pegasus' entrance.

Not even a few minutes later, he made his way up the small platform in front of us. I saw John standing near the platform for I guess protecting Pegasus. Pegasus greeted us before starting reading. His face was covered with the usual mask and voice modifier.

I found myself drowning in the words being spoken. Those are the words that brought me back to life. Those are the words that made me believe that there is love out there for me, for anyone. Those are the words that made me strong.

After the reading, the was the actual meet up where Pegasus would meet the people and talk to them. So I wanted to talk to him too, so I waited for my turn. Ethan kept telling me that I could go meet him because I was Max's fiancee but I denied because no one likes being cut in line so I'm now patiently waiting.

I was one of the last person who were waiting to meet Pegasus and it has been probably over an hour or even more. Finally it was my turn. I approached him with a big smile as I sat in front of him.

"I remember you from somewhere," he said. "I came to your meet up before and got all my books signed. I'm Athena by the way," I said as I looked at his oddly familiar brown eyes. A lot of people have brown eyes so maybe I'm just imagining things. Even Max has beautiful brown orbs like him.

"Yea of course I remember you. You are also the fiancee of my close friend, Max, right," he asked and I nodded. "I must say he is very lucky to have a woman as beautiful and strong woman like you," he said with his modulated robotic voice.

"I am the one who should feel lucky to have such a caring and amazing man like Max by my side," I said with a broad smile playing on my lips. "I'll see you on another meet up. I'm afraid that I'm holding up the line," I said and he simply nodded.

I got up from my seat and made my way to Ethan as I looked around, searching for Max. "Have you seen Max," I asked Ethan. "Sir is busy with the event at the moment," he said and I nodded.

I decided to go roam around with Ethan as I wanted to take the advantage of the free time that I have. As I was walking down the pavement when I realised something. I had booked a ticket to go back home. I should cancel it.

After last night, I just want to spend my time with Max and get to know him more. I don't care about his gorgeous ex-girlfriend who I don't know what is doing here. I mean she is the EX-girlfriend for a reason.

Soon, I saw that Max was calling me. I picked up as I was looking at the beautiful flower tree in front of me. Ethan was just standing next to me. "Mr Knight," I said as I picked up. "Athena," he groaned as I giggled.

"Where are you? I'll come pick you up," he said and then I told him where I was before hanging up. "They are coming to pick us up," I told Ethan and he nodded.

"Ethan, won't you miss your wife while you are away," I asked him as I gave him a small smile. "I miss her like crazy. Whenever I'm in the room, I facetime her ad talk to my kids and her," he said. I smile at adorable that is. "You know me and John know the real reason that you and Mr Knight is together. If you don't mind me asking this Athena, are you in love with Mr Knight," he said making my eyes widened.

I chuckled as I look at him. "Am I this easy to read," I asked as I shook my head. "Yes I'm in love with Max," I said as I felt my heart flutter as I uttered those words. "I'm hopelessly and completely in love with my fake fiancee," I said as I looked at the beautiful blue sky sprawling in front of my eyes.
