Tristen p.o.v

I looked at her sleeping figure beside me as the moonlight fell on her face , she looked absolutely breathtaking to me . It took all my strength not to make her mine right now.

I caressed her cheeks with my thumb .

But she said she wanted time so I am giving her but I don't know how long I will be able to handle this . I stood up and went to the window.

I don't understand if the girl I met one day can throw herself on me but the girl who has been in love with me since her whole life doesn't want to take this relationship further . Does Jade really love me ???

Thinking about it made my blood boil in anger ...

No this cannot happen Jade loves me a lot. It's been 5 years yet she loves me .

Then why does she want you to wait ?? My subconscious spoke .

Just then I heard a buzzing sound . My eyes immediately went to the Jade phone beside the table lamp . She was sound asleep .

Maybe it's Kacey ...

I went to pick it up but my whole demeanor changed when I saw the name of a man flashing on her caller ID .

Edward...

What the hell!!

Why is a man calling her so late? I glare at Jade sleeping figure then on the phone . I took the phone beside her quietly and went outside the room .

I received the phone and I waited for him to speak .

" Sorry Jade to call you so late , I hope you are not sleeping or I didn't disturb your sleep " he chuckled nervously as my blood boiled. If he were here I would have bruised his face badly .

" Yes she is sleeping , now who the hell are you " my voice held threateningly .

" Who is this? " he sounded curious . The nerve of this man.

" Her boyfriend " I gritted angrily .

" Ohh - s- sir - I - I - am Edward from Miss Petrikas department - I - wanted to - remind her - for - meeting " his shuttering made me satisfied somewhat . I am glad that he has fear in his heart for me.

" Listen to me carefully if I ever see your name flashing in my girlfriend's phone again. I will make sure you can never hold your phone in your entire life. " I hung up .

I breathe heavily I know Jade must have given him her number for work but these pathetic men won't leave any chance .

I know how many people want to ask Jade out when we weren't official but because of my fear they didn't but this guy has the nerve to call her this late .

Jade p.o.v

" Good morning " I kissed his cheek as I sat beside him .

" Good morning, " he said quietly . I look at his stiff composure .

" Tristen is everything alright " I asked, putting hand on his shoulder while he stood up angrily and the chair fell with a loud thud . I almost got a heart attack .

" What happened? " I stood up in shock .

" Why the hell did you give Edward your number? " he glared at me while I couldn't believe he would ask me such a ridiculous question.

" Because of work , he works under my team " I said like I am stating the fact .

He came closer as heat radiating from his body " what kind of work you do at 1 a.m. with you so called team member " he tilted his head in an accusing manner .

I look at him in disbelief " This is ridiculous , I am not arguing with you on such a nonsense thing , I am late for work so I am going " . I turned to leave when he grabbed my arm tightly and pulled me closer .

" Don't. You . Dare to do this ever again" he threatened, making me gulp in fear . Whenever he gets angry his whole demeanor changes into someone I don't even know of.

" When I am asking something then give an answer instead of turning your back on me do you get it " his grip on my arm tightly making me hiss in pain .

" Tristen " I whispered as hot tears burned my eyes .

He loosened his grip but didn't leave me .

" I am asking you something Jade " he gritted out again .

I knew he wouldn't let go so I answered in pain " I - I don't I just gave him my number to remind me of the meeting " I blinked and the year fell .

His eyes softened , he wiped my tears with his thumb .

" I am so sorry sweetheart but he called you so late and it's not professional , he has eyes on you " he cupped my face gently while wiping my tears one by one .

I wanted to argue with him but I thought it would be better not to .

" You are so innocent , you don't know men like him so stay away from him and all the men in the workplace okay " he tried to make me understand like a child and I looked at him like he lost his sense .

I didn't say anything and tried to push him softly. I felt tired of arguing with him . I love him and he will make me listen to it anyway .

I tried to release from his grip but he held on to me .

" Promise me Jade , you won't talk to any men in the workplace apart from work , do you understand " he ask me sternly and I stared at him one moment he behaves like old Tristen whom I love so much and the next moment he became someone I don't even know about .

" Promise me Jade " he asked again .

" I promise " I whispered softly, feeling tired .

Third person p.o.v

'' what happened ?? Why do you look so nervous dude? '' Tristen asked as soon as he entered Ryan's house .

'' Well I am going to meet her parents today '' Ryan was exercising his shoulder like he was going to war .

'' woah you are serious about this chick '' Tristen made himself comfortable on the couch .

Ryan glared at him '' she is not some chick , she is my girlfriend and I love her ''

'' She hates me, does she know that you are my best friend , she will break up with you? '' Tristen laughed, annoying Ryan .

''No she doesn't and I will tell her soon '' Ryan told him while fixing his tie .

'' Will you tell her the truth about who you are and what you do? '' he said with all seriousness, making Ryan freeze for a second .

'' did you told Jade who you are and what YOU do ??'' Ryan asked instead of answering, making Tristen clench his fist .

'' she will never know about me I won't let her " Tristen spoke determined
