I wipe my tears while cooking , Alex's words echoing in my head . How can he think I will do something like this?

I didn't realise when someone came behind and hugged me , I didn't freak out because I knew he was home .

Tristen..

" What are you cooking, little chef? " he teased me and I gave him a small smile .

" Nothing simple for dinner " I turned around.

" Where were you? I missed you at work " I hugged him. An unsettling feeling was bothering me .

" Hey , is everything okay? " he asked, getting worried . I wanted to tell him what happened today . Alex accused me of ruining his life but I was scared that if I told him . He might get angry . He doesn't like me talking to anyone at all .

" Nothing just " I sigh " not feeling well " I gave him a small smile look down .

" Then why the hell are you cooking , you should take some rest , where the hell is Lara " he shouted the last sentence angrily and I flinched at his tone .

" I gave a day off , it's not her fault " I held his arm to calm him down .

" Okay , I will cook and you will take some rest " he said and held my hand .

" No I want to coo- hey what happened to your knuckles " I frown and hold his hand to take a better look but he immediately moves his hand like a blink of an eye .

" Nothing ..." His whole body language changed as he took a water bottle from the refrigerator and went to the other room .

I frowned at his behaviour and lowered the flame and followed him .

" Tristen " I called him out but he ignored me .

" TRISTEN " I called again .

" WHAT " he shouted back .

" You tell me what .... What happened to your hand why your knuckles are so red like you beat someone badly or something " before I could stop myself word flew out from my mouth.

He narrowed his eyes at me and came closer , heat radiating from his body as I felt scared to even ask for something like that .

" What do you think of me ??? Am I some kind of monster to you " he gritted his teeth angrily, making my eyes widen .

" No no no Tristen you are getting me wrong " I tried to hold his hand but he pushed it away . I tried to blink back the tears .

" You are accusing me " he said bitterly and I felt stupid to say such word .

" No I am not, I am just worried about you, I don't want you to get hurt, that's it " I tried to explain .

He didn't say anything, just looked at me then cupped my hand and wiped my tears with his hand .

" I am sorry I didn't mean to hurt you " he kissed my forehead .

" I am sorry too I didn't mean something bad " with that I ran to another room and brought a first aid kit .

He looked at my hand and chuckled .

" Sweetheart I am fine , it's nothing alright " he put a hair strand behind my ear .

" Yeah yeah I know you are a big guy and need to pretend that this " I pointed out at his knuckle " doesn't hurt "

He shook his head with a handsome smile on his face .

I started cleaning his knuckle as I felt his eyes on me " if you don't want to get infected then stop staring at me and let me focus " I didn't look at him as blush crept on my cheeks .

" Did I tell you that you are beautiful and I love you? " he said with a teasing smile playing on his lips . Okay now I must look like a tomato .

" Ohh so you love me because I am beautiful not because of the person I am ??" Two can play the game .

I started covering his knuckle with a white bandage while he chuckles.

" No I love you because you are kind , caring , beautiful " I look up to see him so close to my face . A shy smile appeared on my lips .

" Keep talking, " I whispered, smiling .

" And you are funny , hot , and -" he leaned his face inches away .

" And ? " I whispered, totally mesmerized by his voice .

" And innocent " with that he kissed my forehead .
