Kacey is asleep so I made pancakes with Syrup, her favourite and I made myself bread and eggs . After eating my breakfast I write a note for Kacey and stick it in the fridge .

I grabbed my car keys and left for work .

After I entered my cabin soon my assistant followed me and reminded me about the meeting in the conference room . I nodded at her and walked toward my team member when I saw Tristen coming toward my direction . I smiled at his direction but he held his famous poker face passing me while glancing at me . I felt something sting my heart as I realised whatever I thought yesterday was true .

I was just a time pass for him but I won’t let my self respect smash under his feet anymore . I will have my distance with him now on.

“ Sir and Ma'am we need to meet the investor. There is a problem we are facing ……” one of our team members started explaining the situation to us as we all nodded our heads and came to a conclusion .

All this while I could feel Tristen's eyes on me but I kept looking at Brandon who was giving us ideas on how to solve this issue which was rising right now .

After discussing everything I excused myself just then my phone rang . A smile appeared on my face as I saw mom's name flashing on the caller ID .

“ Finally you got the time to remember me “ I taunted her .

Our relationship is like friends , we tease each other a lot but I love her to death . She is my everything and I can do anything for my parents .

“ Well your father kept me busy, what can I do? “ I heard her say and my eyes widened.

“ Mom I didn’t need to know that “ I shrieked and heard her laughing.

“ I was talking about your father asking me to cook different cookies , What did you thought “ she laugh at her word and I closed my eyes knowing very well that she is always be upper hand with me .

“ sorry I forgot after all you are my mother “ I chuckled, shaking my head .

“ How are you, your father and I miss you a lot?” Her voice was soft and I could hear the sadness in her tone .

“ Mom I miss you guys too and I promise as soon as I am done , I will come back home soon “ I pout and turn but my eyes widened as I saw Tristen was standing so close to me that the phone almost fell from my hand .

I frown at his behaviour “ Mom I will talk to you later , I am working right now “ I hung up.

I glared at him “ what the hell is wrong with you “

But he didn’t say anything and glared at me like I betrayed him or something .

“ Tristen “ I spoke again because he was staring at me with his angry expression .

I shook my head and was about to go when he held my wrist and pulled me to his chest making my eyes widen . He pulled so forcefully that if I didn’t balance myself our lips would have met . He was so close to my face that our nose touched .

“ Tristen “ this time my voice was soft and barely audible .

“ Where do you think you are going? “ he gritted his teeth angrily and his grip on my wrist tightened . It must leave a red mark for sure .

I hissed in pain “ Tristen what are you doing . You are hurting me “ I tried to push him but he pulled me back.

“ You will not go anywhere , I won’t let you go again “ he said with so much determination that I almost got scared .

With those words he left me bewildered . As I couldn’t help but think what the hell just happened.
