"So we've talked to his Homeroom, Math, Science, English, History, and Art teachers," Fili says as he reviewed the map of the school that they had marked Ahmet's classes on, "who's left?"

Adalet looked at the map, "I think it's just his Gym teacher, Mr. Johnson. Ahmet talks about him a lot, I hope he has good things to say."

"Don't worry love, all of Ahmet's teachers have said good about our boy, I'm sure this one will too," he assured.

As they made their way to the gymnasium, they saw a sign set up near a set of double doors with the teacher's name and the classes they taught outside of a doorway. The couple entered the gymnasium and took a seat in the row of chairs set up just before the gym teacher's office and waited until Mr. Johnson had finished talking to the parents before them.

"Come in come in!" Mr.Johnson ushered them into his small office, "you must be Ahmet's parents."

"How'd you know?" Fili questioned, cocking his head to the side.

The teacher shrugged, "just a hunch, you get a sort of sixth sense for these things as a teacher. But biological parents, adopted parents doesn't matter, all that matters is that you two are raising a wonderful boy, and doing a great job might I add."

"Oh, well thank you very much," Adalet flushed, "we're trying to do our best."

"Just keep doing what you're doing and I think you'll all be fine," he smiled, "now, I believe we're here to discuss how Ahmet is doing in my class?"

"Yes, when we got his report card we noticed that this was his highest grade," Fili says, "he's doing well in all his other classes, but he almost has a hundred in yours!"

Mr.Johnson laughed, "well that's because he is a natural athlete! Your boy's got a talent for fitness, he had the highest score on the PACER test, and it was his first time doing it! Left the other kids in his dust!"

"Oh, I hated that test in school," Adalet groaned, "my legs are cramping just thinking about it!"

"Well Ahmet's obviously weren't," he joked, "I think he might have set a new school record for his age class, I haven't checked into it yet though... But anyway, he is doing very well, participating in all the activities, helping to set up and put away equipment, and helping the other students who struggle with some tasks."

"How is he getting along with the other kids?" she inquired, "he talks about a few for his classmates, but it took him a while to..."

"At first, Ahmet didn't talk to the other kids and stayed by himself most of the time," the teacher sighed, "then one of the older kids started to bully him, nothing physically just crude or insulting remarks. We tried to help, but nothing we did would stop the bullying."

"Ahmet never mentioned this," Fili commented, "but, he seems happy when he talks about school."

Mr.Johnson grinned, "that's probably because he managed to teach his bullies a lesson."

"Oh?" Adalet asked nervously.

"Nothing bad, I assure you," he replies, "the bully insulted his capabilities because of his, er, lack of prior schooling, so Ahmet challenged him to a simple race."

"A race?" Fili asked, sensing where this might be going.

Mr.Johnson nodded, "around the track field three times, first one to cross the finish line wins. The older boy was cocky and accepted, he didn't realize just how fast Ahmet could run. Beat him by a whole lap! If I hadn't been there to see it, I might not have believed it!"

"Ah! That's my boy!" Fili boasted.

"The bully backed off after that, couldn't believe he'd been beaten by a 12-year-old," he laughed, "the other kids warmed up to Ahmet after that, they wanted him to teach them to run like that!"

"Yeah, that sounds like something Ahmet would do," Adalet shook her head but had a smile on her face, "thank you, Mr.Johnson. Now I know why you're Ahmet's favourite teacher!"

"Oh am I?" Mr.Johnson smirked, "well, looks like I'm going to need to rub that in some teachers' faces!"

Fili laughed, "ha! I'll drink to that!"

"No, you have work tomorrow," Adalet teased, "and you're not allowed to call in "sick" again!"

"Yes ma'am!" he saluted, "can you tell she's the boss?"

"I can," Mr.Johnson stage whispered back, "well, you two are very lucky to have such a fine young man like Ahmet. I'm sure he will grow up to do great things."

"Yeah," Adalet smiled as she took Fili's hand, "we know he will."
