"Anything planned for your day off, Adalet?" Hannah inquired as she played with a red rose, "Heather and I are heading to the Love Village, up in the mountains."

"Look Adalet, Hannah gave me a rose," Heather held up a matching one, "she's such a sweetheart! I can't wait to hit the Love Village!"

"Hey, I'm coming too!" Amy jumped in, "I'm such a fan of the Love Village!"

"A little bird told me you used to go there to smooch Bobby Prince when you were in high school, Amy," the reporter winked, "I bet you're still smitten with him..."

"Hey, it's not what you think!" she flushed, "I care about Bobby because he went through so much pain during our last case. He's very sensitive..."

"Sensitive? It sounds like you're in love, Amy!" she said in a sing-song voice.

"OK that's enough teasing," Hannah laughs, "we had better go, Adalet. Heather and I can't wait for some cheesy romance!"

At the Love Village...

"Oh my, this place hasn't changed a bit!" Amy remarked as they walked along the boardwalk of the village, "I'm glad they kept it as cute and romantic as it was. Now you can see why they call it the Love Village, Adalet!"

"I do..." Adalet breathed as she admired the ice sculptures.

"Hello and welcome, Capt. Adalet! Welcome to the Love Village! I am the Mayor of this lovely place!" Désiré appeared holding a bouquet of roses, "please accept this rose, may it help you find your soulmate!"

Adalet accepted the rose with a sad smile, "I had already found mine..."

"Ah, I can see you're here with Miss Young," he hummed, "she's such a good kid! I knew her as a teenager. She used to come here to cuddle with Bobby Prince, they were so cute together!"

"OK, now this is embarrassing..." Amy groans as her face turned a vivid shade of red, "anyway Adalet, this is the plaza, where lovers meet. There are also figure skating shows once a month. There's no better place in Pacific Bay for a date!"

"Amy, does that statue look weird to you?" Adalet asks pointing to the other end of the lake.

"What, Adalet?" Amy inquired, "you think you spotted something weird out there on the ice rink? Well, if you want to go have a look, please, be my guest!"

The partners strapped on their ice skates and took to the ice. They glided over to the statue and slammed to a stop just before it and, pun intended, froze. The body of a young, good-looking man was hanging limp in the arms of an ice angel statue. Adalet took a quick look around the scene and picked up a flyer off of the ice before it could absorb too much moisture.

"You found a body, Adalet? How could anyone murder someone in such a romantic place?!" Amy wondered with shock.

"I don't know, but we have to find the monster who did this!" Adalet declared, "We should start by sending the body to autopsy, Amy!"

"I'm on it!" she salutes, "this autographed picture you found at least gives us our victim's name: Juan Rodrigo. He seems to have been quite famous! What does the message say?"

"Juan Rodrigo, I loved you. But you had to go." she read, "this message must have been left by our killer! And there's a strange substance on the autograph!"

"I'll let you collect a sample from it!" she responds as Désiré came rushing over.

"WHAT! Juan Rodrigo is dead? I'm doomed! The Love Village is nothing without him! What will become of it now?!" Désiré cries panicking, "Juan Rodrigo attracted tourists from all Pacific Bay with his figure skating skills, he was our champion, our hero! This is a tragedy!"

"Don't worry Mayor Bower, Capt. Adalet is going to take charge of this case," Amy assured the mayor, "please stick around so that we can ask you a few questions."

Désiré walked back to the sideline to calm down while the cops continued working. Amy first called up Roxie to come and retrieve the body to take back to the lab. Meanwhile, Adalet took the flyer and swabbed the stained area to get a sample of it for Yann.

"Your skills keep getting better, Adalet!" Amy praised as she finished the phone call, "you succeeded in isolating some black substance off the note the killer left on the crime scene. Quick, let's send it to the lab!"

They waited for backup to arrive and take over the scene before Adalet and Amy could leave to continue their investigation. The first thing they did was walk over to where Désiré was waiting for them to question him about the murder and the victim.

"Oh, Capt. Adalet, who could have murdered the sweet Juan Rodrigo Vasquez?! He was like a son to me!" Désiré cried.

"Juan Rodrigo was like a son to you? You two were very close then, am I right?" Adalet inquired.

"Juan Rodrigo was everything here in the Love Village! He's the reason I got reelected five times. Every man looked up to him, and every lady desired him!" he boasted, "his ice skating was flawless, sheer elegance with textbook education. He spread so much love, so much love! And the tourists, they loved it!"

"So Juan Rodrigo was kind of popular around here? Could you tell Capt. Adalet about his whereabouts before the murder?" Amy asked pulling out her notebook.

"You should check his lavish chalet up in the mountains," Désiré advised, "Juan Rodrigo never left it, except for ice skating. And it was always crowded with people, women mostly."

"Got it, Adalet," she says writing it down, "if this chalet is where the victim used to spend his nights, we should check it immediately!"

Désiré gave them the address to the victim's chalet and they headed out there immediately. Once they arrived they began searching the front f the home for anything that could help their investigation. The first thing they picked up was a trone shirt that had fallen onto the snow-covered steps, the second was a faded document that Juan must have dropped on his way inside as it was lying on the front balcony.

"So, did you find anything interesting at the victim's chalet, Adalet?" Amy inquires.

"Take a look at these!" Adalet responds holding up the clues, "we'll need to piece this torn fabric back together first though!"

"And I see you've picked up a piece of paper!" she says taking it, "looks like the snow has gotten to it though. Can you retrieve what was written on it?"

"Sure can!" she said as she opened her case. Adalet began the slow process f sewing the torn shirt back together piece by piece. The minty-coloured shirt was an XXL and trimmed with a deep red. On the front was a logo for the White Peaks' weight loss camp and the name tag on it read "Vasquez".

"Well, I'll be... Adalet, this torn fabric you fixed turned out to be a t-shirt! It's from a weight loss camp, right here in White Peaks!" Amy remarked looking at the front of the shirt,

"And there's a "Vasquez" badge on it," Adalet tapped the plastic plate, "which is our victim's last name, but he didn't look like he needed to lose any weight to me, did he?"

She shook her head, "no, so let's send this puzzling mystery over to Hannah!"

Amy held on to the t-shirt while Adalet began dusting the faded document they had found. The document was a storyboard for a commercial being produced by a company called "Mon Petit Chocolat". Camera 1's box had a sketch of a man resembling their victim with a speech bubble that says "So much love!". Camera 2's box just had a drawing of a box of chocolates in it.

"Good job, Adalet! You revealed the content of this document in record time! So this is a storyboard for a commercial?" Amy says as she looked over Adalet's shoulder, "ah yes, I get it. A storyboard is what the filmmakers use to plan out the scene they're going to film... The man on this drawing looks familiar, don't you think?"

"It's our victim! I recognize the star on his right eye!" Adalet said pointing to the star, "there's also this logo... This document is a commercial for the "Mon Petit Chocolat" chocolates."

She squealed, "I adore them!"

"Hey, sorry for interrupting but did someone say the words: "Mon Petit Chocolat"? Where, where?" the cops looked over and saw Heather standing in the driveway of the chalet.

"Heather? Weren't you supposed to be hanging out with Hannah?" Adalet inquired as she descended the stairs.

"Yeah, but since she got called in for the murder, I decided to do a bit of investigating myself!" she beamed, "for my article, that is!"

"Oh," she nods in understanding, "well since you're asking, the chocolates seem to be linked to our investigation."

"Well if you had any clue related to this brand, maybe you should check in on Charlotte Fontaine," she suggested, "she's the one who created "Mon Petit Chocolat" and she's in the Love Village right now!"

She hummed in thought, "if our victim was supposed to star in a commercial for Mrs. Fontaine's chocolates, we should go see her!"

They thanked Heather for the information and ordered her not to tamper with the victim's chalet as they may come back to it later. Adalet and Amy drove back out to the Love Village and walked around looking for Charlotte. They eventually found her sweet shop where the woman herself was standing outside with a small stand displaying her chocolate and candies. After making the introductions, Adalet asked her about the victim acting in her commercial.

"It's true, Capt. Adalet. Juan Rodrigo was supposed to star in my commercial!" Charlotte confirmed, "I guess I should protect my investment and find another muse for my new line of chocolates, but I'm afraid I can never find someone as inspiring and enthralling as Juan Rodrigo."

"Wow, I'd never have thought Juan Rodrigo was so... awesome," Amy admitted.

"Oh, the women loved him! He was a real charmer and such a talented ice skater! With him as the poster boy for my brand, women would have brought my chocolates by the thousands!" she assured them, "of course, his beauty and skills also made him arrogant, and mean. But to be honest, Juan Rodrigo reminded me of myself at his age... Ah, we were of the same breed, him and I."

Autopsy Victim's Body...

"I know many girls who are crying over Juan Rodrigo's death. Everybody loved him in the Love Village. And I think I liked him too... He was a god on skates!" Roxie sighed sadly.

"Seriously, Roxie? You fell for Juan Rodrigo's looks, too?!" Amy deadpanned.

"His delicate face was cut in half by a sharp blade! How can anyone be cruel enough to ruin such perfect beauty! And there's worse," she continues, "I found out Juan Rodrigo's face was splattered with tiny bits of saliva, no doubt left there by the killer when they placed the victim on the statue! But the good part is, when I did a culture on the saliva I was able to isolate fresh residue of breath spray from it!"

"Amazing as always Roxie!" Adalet beamed, "now we know the killer uses breath spray."

"I guess at least they're hygienic!" Amy laughed.

They thanked Roxie for her new piece of evidence before leaving the morgue. They walked down the halls to the other side of the station and entered the forensic lab first.

"I analyzed the black substance you found on that autographed picture the killer left at the crime scene, Adalet. You might think the substance was ink because it was a signed autograph picture, but in fact, it was... chocolate!" Yann tells the pair, "I did a culture on the residue, which revealed traces of cherry liquor mixed in the compound. We're talking about cherry liquor chocolates, here."

"Cherry liquor chocolates? That's one funny thing to find in White Peaks. Usually, people here are more into fondue or gingerbread..." Amy says deep in thought.

"Think, Amy! This is the Love Village! Everyone is out on a date! And what better treat for a date than cherry liquor chocolates?" he questioned.

"Oh, of course!" she slapped her head, "thanks Yann, now we know the killer eats cherry liquor chocolates! Sweet!"

After making note of the new fact about the killer, Adalet and Amy crossed the hall to the tech lab to see how Hannah had made out with the t-shirt they had sent over.

"Thanks for bringing me this weight loss camp t-shirt, this will be the perfect gift if I ever want to break up with Heather," Hannah laughs.

"Hannah, your relationship with Heather is not something you shouldn't make jokes about!" Adalet scolds.

"Hey I'm just kidding here... Anyway, by hacking into the weight loss camp computers, I found out who was registered under the "Vasquez" name," she informed, "and guess what? It was not Juan Rodrigo! This t-shirt belonged to Roberto Vasquez, Juan Rodrigo's brother."

"Oh, so the victim had a brother? Well, he seems to have cared about Roberto's health, how nice of him!" Amy commented.

"And you know what they say, family often make the best suspects so we should go have a chat with this Roberto Vasquez!" Adalet decided.

They left the station and drove back out to the Love Village to looked for their victim's brother. With an image of who they were searching for in their head, they walked along the paths until they stumbled across Roberto Vasquez. They made some quick introductions before getting to the interview.

"Roberto, you're Juan Rodrigo's brother, right?" Adalet inquired, "you must have heard about the murder... We're so sorry for your loss."

"Bah," Roberto brushed them off, "Juan Rodrigo was a bad person, at his very core! And now you're telling me he was murdered? Call it karma! Capt. Adalet, this was bound to happen!"

"Roberto, this is your brother you're talking about!" Amy cried in clear shock.

"I'll tell you who my brother was! See this t-shirt?! It represents everything he was! He enlisted me in that fat camp just to make fun of me!" he yells, "I've always been fat Roberto, Juan Rodrigo's ugly brother. "Oh, JR is so perfect! Why can't his brother be just like him?" At least now I won't have to hear this ever again!"

Later at the station...

"If we don't catch Juan Rodrigo's killer soon, the Love Village might have to change its name to "Murder Village"!" Adalet says as they sat down at their desks.

"That's the Mayor's greatest fear. He said himself Juan Rodrigo made this place come alive, and things may go downhill now that he's gone," Amy repeated, "so far, only Roberto Vasquez seems to be rejoicing over his brother's death. Do you think Juan Rodrigo's fat camp joke could have triggered the murder?"

"I've met a lot of people who would kill because of their looks being made fun of," Adalet quipped, "so it would surprise me very much if he did."

"As for Charlotte Fontaine, the chocolate designer, it sounds like she now needs a replacement to star in her "Mon Petit Chocolat" commercial," she pondered.

"And she has!" they looked over and saw Heather approaching them, "it's all over the fashion blogs, Adalet. Charlotte has found a new muse for her "Mon Petit Chocolat" campaign!"

"You have a knack for popping up out of nowhere, don't you?" Adalet smirked at the reporter.

"Wait a second..." Amy spoke up, "you're saying Charlotte's already replaced Juan Rodrigo for her commercial?"

"Oh yeah, it sounds like she'd had a plan for after he died!" she agreed.

"And what a replacement!" Heather showed them a picture of another male skater, "she's hired another ice skater to star in her commercial, a stud named Dimitrios Moustaki! He's quite the eye-candy!"

"Well, this is getting fishier and fisher!" Adalet remarks, "we'd better go talk to this Dimitrios about this string of events! Heather, since you seem to know everything, do you know where we could find him?"

"Well, I heard he was at the Candy Shop to promote "Mon Petit Chocolat"!" she answered with a wink.

"Perfect Adalet," Amy said making a note of that fact, "we can go talk to Dimitrios when you're ready. And we'd better have a look around the Candy Shop while we're at it!"

At the Candy Shop...

"The famous Capt. Adalet! Wow, I've never seen such good-looking cops! Everything about you is fa-bu-lous!" Dimitrios sang, "so what can I do for you, Capt. Adalet? Excuse me for a sec, now that I'm Mister "Mon Petit Chocolat", I must keep my breath fresh at all times."

"Ah yes, now that Juan Rodrigo's dead, you get to star in the "Mon Petit Chocolat" commercial, right?" Adalet smirked, "this is quite a lucky turn of events for you!"

"I know, right! I'm so honoured to be a part of this adventure, it's such a fabulous brand and now I am going to be the poster boy for it! And these liquor chocolates, they're so moreish!" he sighed as he took a bite of one, "White Peaks today, Ivywood tomorrow! Bring me all this glitz and glamour, I was born ready for this!"

They left Dimitrios alone and began searching the Candy Shop for clues. They found a faded flyer tacked up on the corkboard, Juan's face was printed on it so it would be a good lead to follow. The second item they found was a romantic gift basket on the shop counter overflowing with goodies. The last thing that they found was a broken chocolate piece that Dean and Hunter almost managed to lick before Adalet swooped in and gather it up.

"Your instincts were right, Adalet! Here's our victim's face on a flyer and I'm sure it won't take you much time to retrieve the faded message on it!" Amy said confidently, "and that basket is so cute! Who knows what we might find inside, but I'm sure it'll be adorable! But I do hope you don't intend to eat all those bits of chocolate by yourself, Adalet. You'll get a stomachache!"

Adalet laughed, "I'm not planning on eating them, Amy!"

"Oh of course," she flushed "you're not going to eat them, you're going to piece them back together! I still have so much trouble recognizing clues from treats! Let's get to work then!"

Adalet set everything down on the counter and decided to search through the basket first. She began pulling out all of the goodies one by one until she reached the bottom of the basket. She pulled out the item hidden under all of the chocolates, flowers, and stuffies and saw that it was a skate covered in blood and a yellow stain.

"Oh my gosh, is that ice skate covered in blood? What was it doing in such an adorable basket?" Amy gasped.

"No clue! But Roxie mentioned the victim had been killed by some kind of sharp blade! And this ice skate looks pretty sharp!" Adalet remarking looking at the gleaming blade.

"But wait, this means you've just found our murder weapon! Well done, Adalet!" she celebrated, "there's more than blood on this ice skate. Do you think you can collect a sample from this weird yellowish substance?"

Adalet took a closer look at the yellow stain on the leather of the skate. She swabbed off a good-sized sample of it and placed it onto a micro slide to keep it safe from contamination.

"Amazing as always, Adalet! You gathered enough of this yellowish substance from the murder weapon for Yann to run a proper analysis!" Amy grinned taking the sample.

With that done and out of the way, Adalet began working on the faded flyer. She dusted the corner of the flyer where the writing had faded the most. It turned out to be a short message accompanied by a small cherub outline.

"Well done Adalet, the message on this flyer reads: "Juan Rodrigo's last call for love"? What could that be?" Amy wondered.

Adalet shrugged, "don't look at me, let's just send this message to Hannah, she'll be able to tell us what this is about!"
