Everyone was very peacefully hanging out in the basement, until Jackie walked in.

"Guess what?!" she exclaimed.

"What!" Hyde said with fake enthusiasm.

"The cheerleading team is holding tryouts next week," she said excitedly.

"Oh wow yay," Donna said, again with fake enthusiasm.

"You two should totally try out," Jackie suggested.

"Totally," Emma said sarcastically. Jackie still didn't seem to be picking up the fact that they were all being sarcastic and really didn't care about the cheer team.

"You know on second thought, I'd really love to see Randall in a cheer uniform," Hyde said.

"Oh shut up," she said while putting her arm around his shoulder. "Also you see me in less all the time," she added.

"Ewww" Donna said.

"I have seen that too," Fez said.

"You've seen us do it," Hyde said with a disgusted look on his face.

"Maybe," Fez said.

"Fez! You perv," Emma exclaimed.

"There is a chair in my closet that Fez put in. I often catch him sitting in it," Donna said.

"Fez, you are so weird. I guess foreigners don't know how to act," Jackie said.

They all continued casual conversation like this for a while.

Emma and Hyde walked upstairs to a very unexpected surprise.

"Hey Steven," an older man said.

Emma had no idea that this was Bud, Hyde's dad.

"Dad?" he asked. He obviously knew it was his dad but he was still in shock.

"What's up, kid," he asked.

"A lot of confusion right now. Why are you here," Hyde asked.

"Well I ran into Kitty at the bar I work at" he started.

"And to be clear I was looking for something. I certainly wasn't drinking," she said.

"Right. So she told me about you living here and so here I am," he explained.

"Wait so you have a job. Which means you have been in town a while," Hyde said.

"Well, Yes."

"Why haven't you come sooner. Mom's gone," Hyde said.

"Steven I didn't know that," his dad.

"Yeah well now you do," after that there was a but of an awkward silence.

"Who is this," Bud asked Hyde, gesturing at Emma.

"This is my girlfriend," he said.

"My name's Emma," she said.

"Well I'm Bud. And Steven I'm proud of you for finding someone," he said.

"Oh don't act like you care. You're not proud, you're barely even my dad," Hyde said and walked out.

Emma knows Hyde very well and she knows he didn't want to be followed, so she didn't.

"So how is Steven doing. Is he all right," Bud asked.

"I think he'd be better if he had a dad. But what do I know. I don't have one either," Emma said and walked out.

She will always hold grudges to fathers who weren't there for their kids. She knew all too well the feeling of having sucky parents.

She saw that Hyde wasn't outside, so she went to find him at either the hub or maybe a park or something.

She checked the hub and didn't find him. She did end up checking a park that she knows people go to get high.

Hyde was sitting alone with a joint on a bench.

"Mind if I join you," she asked as she walked over.

"No problem," he said.

"How are you feeling," she asked.

"Light as air," he responded, holding up his joint.

"You can't just wave a joint in a girls face and not offer her any," she joked.

He passed it over and she rested her head on his shoulder. She knew he wouldn't want to talk about his dad just yet, so she just enjoyed her time, smoking with Hyde.

Most girls wound find what they were doing cool or romantic, but they were both screwed up kids who needed each other.
