This is the fourth time I've called her.

It's getting hotter,

and this giant tree is the only marker I have of my

relative

location.

She's probably in her own Wonderland

again,

staying true to her namesake.

My body temperature is slowly increasing and I'm keenly aware of

the sweat

ripping

down

my forehead,

and my parched throat,

and my suffocating lungs.

I only want to feel like this when it's that intimate

skin-to-skin contact

and not

heat.
