《MLB Medieval Diaries》We Wait in Silence P.1

Marinette woke up with Adrien by her side.
She felt as if someone would have to drag her by her ankles to get her out of bed, especially at the sight of her kitten next to her.
She squealed when the blonde prince suddenly pulled her into a hug. He chuckled at her surprise.
However, they both shrieked when a guard knocked on the door.
Adrien pulled the bed sheets over his head and laid as still as possible.
The bluenette was bewildered when her chamber doors opened to reveal at least ten guards marching in. Her mother strode in followed by maids and more guards.
"Mom? What's going on?" Marinette questioned.
Her mother signaled to the maids who pulled Marinette out of bed and into her side room to get dressed.
"You can come out now Prince Adrien," Sabine spoke.
Adrien revealed himself, he wore a deep blush. "Your highness, I apologize for-"
"It's ok," Sabine stopped him. She peered worriedly out the window. "Just keep her safe." Adrien looked at the queen in confusion.
Marinette walked back into the main room in black riding boots, light brown pants and a white coat that ran longer in the back and had gold buttons and embroidery. Her raven blue hair was loose with two small braids running down the sides of her head and being tied in the back. Her hands were covered with white gloves and a sheathed sword wrapped around her waist.
"Why am I dressed like this? What's going on?!" Marinette asked with power in her voice.
"Ma fille, war is going to happen. You need to leave for your safety, I have your horse waiting and Adrien's as well," Sabine informed rapidly. "The Bourgeois have declared war on our kingdom. I have received word that Chloe demanded war after her marriage to Adrien collapsed. It may seem like a bad reason for war, but you know how she is. She'll use her father's power to get what she wants."

Marinette and Adrien glanced at each other.
The girl turned toward her mother, "What the hell? She'd kill people in war over that?"
"I know, but you need to leave . I don't want you here when the war starts."
"No."
"Marinette please!"
"Give me a battalion. I will fight for my people," Marinette demanded.
"If you are fighting, I will fight by your side." Adrien concluded. He ran to get dressed- thankful he put his nightgown on after last night. He left before Marinette could protest.
"Marinette, what if something happens to you? I won't take my chances."
"Our kingdom has been seen as one of the friendliest kingdoms in France. It has a good reputation but other rulers don't think we have the strength and supplies to fight a war and win. If kings and queens wanted war with us, they think we'll go down without a fight. This battle is a good chance to prove them wrong! Besides, I need to protect my home, my people! I need to try and stop her from doing that," Marinette ranted- her words leaving Sabine silent. "So yes, I'm fighting."
Marinette turned and walked toward the royal meeting room. Adrien walked in the room a few minutes later.
There, her father, general, guards, commander of war, and a few soldiers were gathered. On the table they surrounded lay a large map of the nearby areas. The men bickered and fought for their war plans but fell silent when Marinette entered the room.
"Marinette what are you doing in here? Your supposed to be evacuating for your safety," Tom questioned.
"No. I'm leading our war," The princess slammed her hands on the planning table. She stood tall and shouted,
"Chloe wants a war?- Well she'll get one."
