It had been week since Ash and Dawn had left Jubilife City after Dawn's first contest. The travel so far to Oreburgh had been fine without any troubles except Dawn's continuous complaints related to walking and camping as all this was a new experience for her.

"Alright, Oreburgh city is just 2 miles away!" Ash exclaimed as he saw a signboard which showed directions to Oreburgh City entitled as the 'City of Energy'.

"Finally, we can get out of this forest and rest in a Pokemon center!" Dawn exclaimed. It was late afternoon, by the time they reach Oreburgh it would be evening so, Ash decided that he would have his gym battle tomorrow.

"Yeah, it has been a while since we have been to a Pokemon Center." Ash said and they started walking again. The friendship between Ash and Dawn had grew a lot stronger and they could trust each other though Ash enjoyed annoying her every now and then.

After a brisk walk of about two-hours they finally reached Oreburgh City. With what Ash could notice it wasn't as modern and appealing as Jubilife City, the main reason being it was a mining town were majority of the region's most precious stones were mined along with coal – Sinnoh's main source of energy.

"This place surely gives me the vibes of some old-fashioned cowboy movies." Ash said taking a closer look of the city details. Dawn couldn't help but chuckle at his comment.

"Nurse Joy we would like to stay here for tonight, could you provide us with a room for two?" Ash inquired.

"Of course, just give me a second." Nurse Joy said as she took the basic details required for a trainer to book a room. "Here you go." She said handing over the room key to Ash.

They both went to their room placed all their belongings and refreshed themselves. "Oh man! Its just 6:30 and we have nothing in general to do." Ash exclaimed in a disappointing voice.

"Hmm, we could visit the museum if you want. There is going to be a special fossil regeneration event today at 7." Dawn suggested as she was going through the city events tab on her Poketch.

"Fossil regeneration? huh sure sounds interesting." Ash said getting a little excited on the fact how Sinnoh's fossil Pokemon would look like.

They both made their way out of the center and started walking towards the museum, Dawn leading the group of Ash, Pikachu, Eevee and Piplup with the direction through her Poketch. They made it to the museum after a brisk walk of 15 mins. By appearance it was huge purplish color building.

They entered the building and the first thing which caught their eye was a bunch of people wearing lab coats probably scientists arranging a certain equipment. It surely had to be for today's event.

Ash quickly made note of the people present there, majority of them were businessmen and research students. Ash felt a little uncomfortable as there weren't many trainers present there maybe he and Dawn were the only ones present. The businessmen were probably here to invest in their research and stuff like that.

"Ladies and gentleman, your attention here we are going to start with today's special event." one of the senior scientists announced. People started gathering nearing the specified area.

"I have a skull and an armor fossil here with me and we're going to regenerate them for you." the scientist said as he placed the fossils in a machine which caused them to glow in turn forming two small Pokemon resembling a Dino and shielded mammal like appearance.

Everyone present there had shocked expressions on their face, except Ash who already had seen regeneration of fossils way back on Wales Island during his journey in Hoenn.

"Meet the regenerated forms of Sinnoh's fossil Pokemon, Cranidos and Shieldon!" one of the scientists exclaimed which lead to debates.

"Aww! they're so cute!" Dawn exclaimed as she saw the newly born or say regenerated fossil Pokemon. She then saw Ash who took out his Pokedex and pointed it towards the huge skull Pokemon

- 'Cranidos - A lifelong jungle dweller from 100 million years ago, it would snap obstructing trees with head butts.' the Pokedex explained causing Dawn to chuckle a bit at the last part.

Dawn then took her Pokedex and pointed it towards the other Pokemon

- 'Shieldon- It is outstandingly armoured. As a result, it can eat grass and berries without having to fight.' the Pokedex explained.

After an hour of exploring those Pokemon closely and the entire museum infact Ash and Dawn heard a scientist making a certain announcement.

"Everyone specially for today's occassion we have a rare fossil right from Kanto." the scientist said as he took a bright yellowish-orange stone in his hand.

"This is called the Old Amber and is the fossil of the mighty Aerodactyl that dominated the Kantonian skies thousands of years ago." the scientist said as he placed the fossil inside the regeneration machine.

However, Ash had a bad feeling here. As soon as he heard the word Aerodactyl his minded shifted towards the scene that had happened years ago in Kanto, an Aerodactyl carrying him and his newly evolved Charizard chasing it. It definitely was a thing not be imagined again.

Ash was drifted away from his thoughts as soon as he heard an explosion and shocked to see the prehistoric creature going berserk, firing multiple Hyper Beams. The regeneration machine was completely destroyed causing a lot of commotion.

"Everyone please make your way out fast! The situation is out of control." one of the scientists said nearly everyone dispersed just leaving Ash and Dawn.

"Ash I think we should get going." Dawn said as she was dragging out a stubborn Ash by her hand.

"No Dawn! It's our duty as trainers to help these people." Ash said as he removed a Pokeball out. "Heracross I choose you!" Ash exclaimed.

"Heracross use Protect!" Ash exclaimed as the prehistoric creature fired a Hyper Beam towards the group of scientists but they were saved in time due to Protect.

An angry expression was formed on Aerodactyl's face and it roared in response as if challenging Ash to Battle.

"So, you want to fight. I see." Ash said understanding what Aerodactyl intended. "Alright Heracross get ready!" Ash exclaimed getting ready for the battle.

Aerodactyl flew downwards with sparks of fire starting to get formed in its mouth. "Heracross dodge it quick and then use Brick Break." Ash commanded as the bug type dodged the Fire Fang and landed a Brick Break on the fossil Pokemon's back.

"Nice one Heracross, now use Leer." Ash ordered which lowered down Aerodactyl's defence a bit.

The prehistoric creature began to charge downwards again only this time its wings began to glow. "Heracross use Protect." Ash ordered as the bug blocked the incoming Steel Wing by its Protect.

"Heracross use Horn Attack!" Ash ordered but was surprised when Heracross didn't move from it's place instead gave Ash a comforting nod which he immediately understood and smirked which kind of scared Dawn.

"Heracross use Stone Edge!" Ash exclaimed as the bug type jumped with great power using its newly learned move which emerged out big stones and knocked out Aerodactyl from the battle and it collapsed on the ground.

"Heracross you did a great job, return." the raven-haired trainer said as he returned the strong bug type back to its Pokeball.

Ash was about to leave along with Dawn, he was interrupted by someone. "Young man why don't you catch this Aerodactyl, after all you've defeated it." one of the scientists suggested and the others nodded.

"You sure I can?" Ash asked a little confused over the offer.

"Why not? This Pokemon has been regenerated after thousands of years, it won't be nice to trap it in a museum instead it could prove as a good battler given its aggressive nature and you seem to be a strong trainer." The scientist explained clearing all of Ash's doubts.

Ash threw a Pokeball at the still semi-unconscious Pokemon and it got captured in three clicks. He took the Pokeball in his hands, moved his cap backwards, raised his hands forward and exclaimed "Alright! I just caught an Aerodactyl!"

Dawn chuckled at his antics even after being such a strong battler he still had quite a bunch of childish attributes which made him even more unique according to Dawn.

Ash was once again thanked by the scientists and he made his leave shortly along with Dawn. They had their dinner at the Pokemon Center, talked for a while before jumping on their respective beds to get some sleep, Ash had to wake up early for training, as he had his first gym battle in Sinnoh tomorrow and to make things more interesting he signed a certain petition.

Right now, everyone was sleeping peacefully except Ash who was busy thinking. 'I had a perfect start in Sinnoh this time! Within a week, Cyndaquil and Starly evolved, I caught an Aerodactyl and got a sweet and cheerful travelling companion.' The last thought made him blush a bit. This time he is serious, he is mature, he is ready for all challenges, this time he's here to win!

Ash caught an Aerodactyl and Dawn got to learn about fossils, tomorrow Ash will have his first gym battle in Sinnoh with a certain twist, stay tuned and find out what happens as the Journey Continues!
