"Electivire return. Here Ash give this berry to Pikachu, it will feel better soon." Gary said while handing over an Oran berry to Ash. He quickly gave it to Pikachu who ate it happily.
"I must say Gary you have gotten very strong." Ash said with a disappointed look on his face.
"Yeah, I know even if decided to become a Pokemon Researcher but I am still a strong trainer. But you have gotten strong as well beating the Battle Frontier is no joke." Gary said in a sarcastic tone.
"Thanks." Ash said chuckling at the compliment he received from Gary
"Hey Ash let's get moving fast, we are getting late and I am sure your mom and Gramps would be waiting for us." Gary suggested as their battle had taken a decent amount of time.
"Sure, Gary let's get moving." Ash said as both friends started moving towards Ash's home and Oak's Lab respectively which was about 20-25 minutes away.
They both were discussing about their adventures. Ash told Gary about how he won against Brandon in the final battle to win the Battle Frontier whereas Gary told him about his adventures and research that he did in Sinnoh.
"Hey Ashy-Boy I think you should definitely go to Sinnoh and try the League there." Gary suggested him.
"Why not Gary I will surely think about it." Ash answered.
"Ash can I give you one suggestion?" Gary asked Ash. Ash became a little confused as to what suggestion Gary had to give.
"Go on." Ash said.
"Ash, listen I know that you are a great trainer but if you really want to become a Pokemon Master or win a league you should change your strategy a little bit." Gary said becoming serious suddenly.

"What do you mean Gary? I don't understand." Ash asked getting confused not understanding what he meant by changing strategy.
"I mean to say that instead of leaving all your Pokemon from previous journeys at the lab before going to a new journey and not using them is sheer foolishness. I mean you should catch new Pokemon but also train the previous one so that they get enough experience!" Gary exclaimed in a serious tone.
Ash was shocked as well as had a feeling of guilt at what Gary said. He knew somewhere that Gary was right. He didn't even use a single Pokemon in Hoenn other than Pikachu and the rest of new Pokemon he caught there.
"If you had trained or used the other Pokemon which you caught in Kanto and Johto in Hoenn then you might have had the chance of winning the league there." Gary continued after pausing for a while. Ash just stood there with a hint of disappointment on his face.
"See Ash I am not telling you to give up your recklessness, excitement or passion when it comes to Pokemon battles, just become a little more mature, give equal importance to all your Pokemon and I am sure that no one will stop you from becoming the Sinnoh League Champion!" Gary exclaimed while giving Ash a thumbs up to lift his confidence.
"Thanks Gary, for making me realize where I was wrong. I was able to win the Battle Frontier as I used many of my Pokemon there." Ash stated. Gary just smiled at his statement feeling relieved as Ash understood his point.
"This time with help of all my Pokemon as well as the new ones I am surely going to bring that Sinnoh league trophy home!" Ash exclaimed while pumping his fists in air.

"Hey by the way I have a surprise for you." Gary said
"What surprise Gary?" Ash questioned getting excited like a little kid.
"For that you will have to wait until we reach the gramps lab Ashy boy." Gary said while Ash getting annoyed by his nickname.
They both were about to reach Ash's home. "Hey Gary why don't you come with me and visit my mom? She was asking about you that day." Ash suggested as it had been long since his mom had seen his former rival.
"Yeah, why not. After that we can go and meet gramps at the lab." Gary said while accepting Ash's offer.
They both could see Ash's house in a distance as he began to sprint towards his house to find his mom in the kitchen. "Hey mom guess what? I won the Kanto Battle Frontier and I'm the first trainer to do so!" he exclaimed while handing over a frame which contained all the symbols that he had won.
"Oh, my Ash! I am so proud of you." Delia exclaimed while giving a bear hug to her son.
"Thanks mom, I can't breathe." He said as his mother ended the hug.
"Pikachu, how are you?" she asked while placing Ash's recent achievement along with his previous 28 badges and Orange league trophy from the Kanto, Johto, Orange islands and Hoenn region respectively. "Pika, Pi" it cried happily responding to Delia's question.
"Hey Mrs. Ketchum, how are you? long time no see." Gary greeted her while he had just entered Ash's house as he had been left behind.
"Hey Gary, I am fine, sure it has been a long time. I last saw you before Ash left for Hoenn. How are you doing?" Delia greeted and asked her son's former rival.
"I am fine Mrs. Ketchum. I got a little busy working as an assistant of Prof. Rowan and travelling throughout Sinnoh doing different kinds of research. I came to visit as I got a break of few weeks from my project." Gary explained to her.
"Gary, I would like to invite you, Proffesor Oak and Tracey for lunch, kind of a Party as Ash won his Frontier challenge." Delia said inviting him and the others for the party.
"Sure, Mrs. Ketchum I would never miss an opportunity to taste your delicious food." Gary said accepting the invite.
"Mom I would like to inform you that I will be leaving for Sinnoh as I have decided to challenge the gyms out there and participate in the Sinnoh league." Ash explained his plans to his mother. "Come on Gary lets go and meet Prof. Oak and my Pokemon at the Lab." Ash said as he placed his bag on the couch and stormed out of his house along with Pikachu towards Prof. Oak's Lab.
"Bye Mrs. Ketchum see you later tonight." Garysaid before he stepped of the house and started walking towards the Lab.
