《THE RUNNING》7

---------------------------------------------
Third Person POV.
A thunderous roar shook the forest.
Thundering paws and 2 stampeding wolves came out into the clearing, one a mix of blacks, whites, tans, and browns, the other a solid, muscular black. All of a sudden, a howl, one full of pain and suffering, pierced the thick air. It came from a She-Wolf. The one in front, obviously the female to cause the sound, was sprinting faster than any other She-Wolf that day, heading straight towards the Border while sporting what looked like a broken front leg. The Wolf in back, a male, was gaining on her and about to tackle her to the ground when the female suddenly leaped into the air.
Time seemed to slow to a halt as she leapt through the air, extending her front legs to the Border. The females holding clothes and first aid kits watched with slack jaws and wide eyes as the She-Wolf hit the ground with a thud, her head bouncing off the dirt and leaves, shifting involuntarily.
From her breast up, she was past the border, but from then down..she was still in Neutral Territory. The other females rushed towards her, planning to clothe her and repair minor cuts and scrapes.
"Did I make it?", she asked in barely a whisper, too exhausted to even lift her head.
The male behind her shifted also, not seeming to care that his body was bare, kneeling down next to her shaking and sweating figure. "Mate", he growled lowly, before draping a blanket over her clammy body, picking her up bridal style, and taking her away.
*Elenore's POV. *
"Mmm", I moaned. I snuggled deeper into the soft pillows, relaxing in the clean scent and fluffy blankets wrapped around me. I curled up in the fetal position, burrowing even deeper into the bed before I came to my senses.
Wait, a bed?
My eyes snapped oven and I sat up quickly, causing my head to swim for a moment. Taking a look around the room, I began to get scared, feeling my heart pick up speed and hearing blood rushing in my eardrums. Where am I? What happened?
I tried to remember why I was here, or even the last thing I remember. Trying to dig through my last memories, I found it to be no use. Why can't I remember?!, I mentally screamed at myself.
Suddenly, it all came rushing back. The Running, Haley, my arm, the black Wolf, 'mate'.
Oh. My. God. I got taken. How could I let this happen?! After all the running I did, after Haley telling me to make it to the Border for her..
'Haley?', I tried through mild-link. 'Haley, are you there? Answer me!'. No answer.
I tried a different approach. 'Nikita?', I asked worriedly. Immediately, she replied.
'Ellie! Oh my goddess, I'm so glad you're okay! Wait, are you okay?', she replied, worry and relief clear in her tone.
'Yea, but, where are we? How long have I been out?', I asked, glancing to look out the window to my right.

'From what I can gather, about 2 days. You over exhausted yourself and passed out as soon as you fell to the ground 2 days ago. And you also broke your left arm, but the werewolf healing healed it sometime when we were out.'
2 days? I've been sitting in this bed for 2 days since the running? I began to think. I'm human now, and when we shift back, we're naked..
I gasped, looking down at my.. clean and fully clothed body? I was dressed in gray sweatpants and a boys plain T-shirt, my silky chestnut locks flowing past my shoulder blades. I took the time to fully inspect my left arm. Nothing showed I had ever broken it except for a faint silver scar running across the middle of my forearm.
'Okay, well do you know who took us?', I asked, hoping she knew whose house we were in.
Nikita sighed in defeat. 'I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling I do.'
I waited for her to finish, but she never did. 'And that iss..?' I trailed off, hearing fast footsteps coming closer to my door.
I leapt off the bed and ran behind the door, planning on pouncing whoever opened it and getting some answers from them.
The footsteps stopped right outside the door, a heavy knocking sounding from the other side. After a few moments, the knob turned and someone quietly walked in, revealing..
HALEY!
"OH MY GODDESS HALEY!", I screamed, tackling her to the ground in a big bear hug, completely forgetting about my previous intentions.
"ELLIE!", she screamed back, looking up at me and returning the warm embrace. After a few minutes, I sat up and pulled her with me. She had on a pair of skinny jeans and a button up plaid shirt with light makeup on her face.
"I'm so happy right now! Haley, why are you here? Where are we? What happened at the Running? Who took yo-", I started firing question after question, not noticing how fast I was talking, until Haley interrupted me with a laugh, slapping her hand over my mouth.
"Ellie, deep breaths", she told me, breathing deeply as an example. I did as she said, and felt my heart beat slow down.
"Good, now I will answer all of your questions, but first," she said, walking over to a door on the far left side of my room. All together there are 3. "You need to take a shower and get changed. It's 11:46 AM right now, so after we'll get you some food."
She disappeared in the closet, I'm guessing, and pulled out a purple button up shirt and a pair of skinny jeans, holding them up in the air and showing them to me. I scrunched up my nose and furrowed my brows.
"I don't like that shirt. You know I never liked button up's, Haley, unless it's absolutely adorable. That," I said, pointing to the top,"is not." She sighed and dropped her hands, motioning for me to pick out a shirt for myself.

Smiling happily, I walked into the closet. More like my entire bedroom at home! The walk-in closet was huge, at least 15 feet long and wide, with dressers and draws covering the walls. In a daze, I examined all the clothes I had. I saw all different kinds of high heels, boots, sneakers, dresses, hoodies, T-shirts, jeans, tights, underwear, bras, and beautiful necklaces.
"These are all mine?", I asked Haley, looking back to see her leaning against the doorframe, nodding and laughing quietly at my expression.
"Oh my goddess," I breathed. Grabbing a cute sweater from a hanger, some underwear and a bra, and the jeans from Haley, I made my way to a door on the far right side of my room. Opening it slowly and peering in, I saw a beautiful bathroom, tile covering the hard surfaces and a big shiny white tub with matching glass shower. This guy must be rich!
Setting my clothes on the sink, I turned to the shower and figured out how to turn on the hot water, making sure I had Shampoo, Conditioner, a rag, and body wash before I got in. Once the water heated up and I stepped in, I immediately tended to my hair to find in surprisingly tangle free.
Once I was done with my hair, I reached for the body wash and found it to be.. Green Apple and Vanilla scented..
Shrugging it off, I finished washing my body and blemish-less face and turned off the water. Wrapping a towel around myself, I relaxed in the steamy room and tried to keep my mind off of whoever took me-and Haley-?
After searching through the drawers to find makeup, hair care items, and bath salts, I finally found a hair brush and began running it through my damp hair. I found a toothbrush and scrubbed my teeth clean, leaving a minty chill on my lips.
Slipping on my clothes and walking out of the bathroom while finishing the french braid I was doing in my hair, I saw Haley laying on my bed flipping through the TV channels.
"About time!" she points at me jokingly and sits up. I smile sweetly, and sit on the edge.
"So, will you answer my questions now?" I ask hopefully, using my big eyes on her and pouting my lip for good measure. She sighs, running a hand down her face. "Alright, but let's go get breakfast first." I smile brightly, and my stomach growls in agreement.
Haley laughs and shakes her head, leading me out of the room from the middle door. Turning right into a long hallway, I looked at my surroundings. Delicate paintings hung on the walls, and an intricate white and red rug lay beneath us, muffling our footsteps. We passed a few doors on our left and right, each one looking the same. A long window suddenly started on our left, and I looked out.
I gasped, my eyes going wide with awe.
Below us, a magnificent concrete fountain lay in the middle of a paved driveway coming up to the big house. As my eyes followed the driveway down, I spotted a large black metal gate with letters on them, but they were backwards. What does it say?
I squinted my eyes to see better, but Haley gently took hold of my upper arm and guided me down a sparkling white marble staircase. Reaching the bottom, we turned into an impressive kitchen, the counters shining and cabinets spotless.
When Haley let my arm go, I took a seat at the bar that could fit 8, and watched Haley gather a pan, some eggs, and vegetables from the fridge. "Are omlets okay?", she asked with raised eyebrows. I nodded, and she began to cook.
"So," I started. "What happened to you at the Running? Who took you?"
Slightly looking up at me from beating the eggs in a small bowl, she blushed, a loving look crossing her face.
"Beta Gail Moore.", she said, returning to her bowl. I almost choked on my own spit.
"After you ran off and I saw that other wolf coming after you, Gail brought me back here and got me cleaned up, and you showed up here a little later. Oh, he's so sweet Ellie! He cooked for me the next morning, and we talked all day. Around checking up on and caring for you, of course." She grinned contagiously, and I immediately returned it.
"That's so amazing, Haley! I'm happy for you two!" she thanked me, and began chopping vegetables for our breakfast. "So you cleaned me up?", I asked to clear things up. "Yup!", she chirped back happily.
"Well thank you Hay-Hay," I say, getting up to give her a fat, wet kiss on her cheek, using the nickname a gave her long ago. She jokingly growled in response, wiping the spit from her cheek.
"Hey, why didn't you answer me earlier when I called to you through mind-link?", I asked, remembering what happened when I woke up.
"Oh, I had to inject a small amount of Wolfsbane in you to prevent Nikita from waking you up and hurting the healing process. You were already weak as it was." I nodded, silently thanking her while she chopped the ingredients.
After a few moments of listening to the eggs and vegetables pop and sizzle in comfortable silence, I asked another question.
"So, if Beta Gail took you, who took me?"Haley visibly stiffened, her fingers gripping the knife in her hand a little harder.
"Uhh..I-I-,"she studdered, but was interrputed by a deep, soothing voice behind me. I've heard that voice before..
Turning around slowly, I got a sudden case of Déjà vu. This happened before.
"I did," was all Alpha Connall said before I blacked out.
