The enormous palace of Abhiras was grandly decorated with golden silk materials while each and every pillar inside the palace was ornamented with several blooming flowers. Not only the palace but even the smallest of small villages in Abhiras had festive vibes, why? The one and only princess of Abhiras, Princess Nandhini was being married today.
When the news about their Princess being married came out in people, they expected the groom to be a king or least a crown prince of any nation, but when the information about their Senapati being the groom reached their ears, they could have been knocked down with a feather.
At first, they gossiped about why such a rich princess that too a sister of a king, is being married to a military head and when this gossip reached Nandhini she was furious, so she ordered her maids to silently spread the actual truths among the citizens and somehow her idea worked.
The fact that a princess has rejected several kings and countless princes to accept as her husband has caught everyone's attention, they started to wonder and die from curiosity to at least get a look of Senapati whom the princess has chosen. How breathtaking and great should he be that a princess has fallen for him?
Amid all the chaos inside and outside the palace, there in her royal chambers sat princess Nandhini in a red bridal lehenga and right beside her stood Queen Chitra who was choosing which ornaments to be worn by the bride.
"Bhabi, can you tell me something without lying?" Nandhini asked, peeking from her red veil which lay over her head.
Chitra felt a strong sense of nostalgia, Nandhini had once asked her the same question on her first at the palace.
Silently suppressing her laughter Chitra picked up a gold chain from the table and examined it's work as she nodded her head indicating the princes to ask.
"Am I not pretty?"
And those words made Chitra burst out laughing and she managed to speak in between her laughs, "Today is your wedding and all you had to ask is this, princess?"
Nandhini frowned as she pulled the gold necklace from Chitra's hand and tried to wear it herself.
"It's just that, this bridal lehenga is somehow making me feel short!" Huffing in annoyance she crossed her hands over her chest as she glared at herself through the mirror.

Chitra slowly leaned on the mirror as she spoke, "Okay then, the wedding can not be cancelled so I will just inform Vikram to find another bride-"
"Bhabi!" Nandhini cried as she gave Chitra a frustrated look.
Chitra laughed as she bent forward taking Nandhini's face in her hands, "Not everyone has the luck to find true love Nandhu, and now that you have got it, don't let your idiot of a brain cower your heart, okay?"
Somehow, Chitra's soothing words and her comforting touch helped and her confidence was back right on tracks.
Nodding her head Nandhini adjusted her blouse and legends saying, "Yes, you are correct, If Vikram has a problem with my height then I should just break his legs to my level. Right?"
Chitra almost fell down laughing hearing those words, just how does Nandhini manage to do this? Like trolling Vikram in each and every aspect.
Nandhini and Chitra were laughing and giggling as they chatted about the wedding and ornaments but their loud conversions were interrupted by Rajamatha as she strode inside.
"Enough of your gossips now, the pandit has requested the bride's presence." Rajamatha Padmaja informed them as she lovingly kissed her daughter's forehead in happiness
Soon Nandhini was taken to the dais where the marriage rituals were being held. Laughter, joy and love. There were the only feelings which everyone could feel as they watched the princesses wedding. Arjuna stood beside Chitra, his hand over her shoulder as they watched the wedding.
The wedding was on full fledged with excited relatives and troublemaking children running around. And right in between that chaos Arjuna and Chitra silently slipped away and had changed into a simpler set of commoner clothes.
It has been nearly four months since the sanitariums have begun but Arjuna couldn't personally visit them due to some issues and what time could be better to have a good assessment than this time where every villager was busily excited about the royal wedding?
Many royal spies have reported saying that each and every citizen was very impressed with this facility as they no longer needed to run anywhere with their sick family member. However, Arjuna was not satisfied, as he himself wanted to see how responsible were his officials.

So here they are, outside the palace. Chitra and Arjuna were passing through the heavy crowds hand in hand and Chitra abruptly stopped in her tracks, when asked why she said she wanted to eat some raw mangoes.
Arjuna quickly obliged as he bought her a small plate of raw mangoes from a fruit vendor.
"Do you want to eat ripe mangoes also? There's a-"
"Hm," Chitra made smacking sounds as she ate the raw mango, "No, no I just wanted to eat something sour."
"Sour? All of sudden?"
"Yes." Chitra blushed as she looked down at her feet.
"Why would you-" His sentence came to a halt as he understood the meaning behind her words, his eyes grew wide as excitement dripped down his voice, "You are pregnant!"
Chitra just nodded her head as her cheeks turned pink in happiness,
"Woohoo!" Arjuna shouted in excitement lifting Chitra in his hands twirling around in happiness.
"Arjuna! Put me down, everyone is staring at us!" Reluctantly Arjuna put her down as his face glowed in happiness.
"I am going to be a father!" He shouted excitedly as they walked towards the sanitariums.
Chitra leaned her head on his shoulder as they walked, how has her boring life turned so bright? She got a mother in Rajamatha, a friend in the form of Nandhini, a brother like Vikram and above all an amazing husband like Arjuna. Maybe the gods above have finally decided to compensate her for her sad childhood.
Yesterday when she got to know that she was pregnant she couldn't help but think of Sridhar. His mother was overjoyed to see her child alive, she has been almost dying thinking that her brute of a husband had killed their children. But she no longer fears anyone as Aditya and his sister were beheaded for their crimes.
She was no sadder about not being able to adopt Sridhar but was more than happy to know that he was growing up with his mother. And maybe after her child's birth she might visit them once.
The sanatoriums were huge and spacious with large windows which filled the rooms with an ample amount of light. A healer welcomed them and enquired the reason for their visit.
When Arjuna mentioned about pregnancy, the healer got more excited than them and made Chitra sit on a chair as she started checking her pulse.
As Arjuna was looking around he found two kids who sat near their grandfather's bed playing chess. But somehow more than playing they kept arguing about something and before his curiosity could choke him, Arjuna walked to them to see what the chaos was about.
"You have lost your queen, you are gonna lose now." The little girl proudly flipped her hair as she spoke.
"No way, a king does not need a queen to win! He is the most powerful one!" The little boy argued with an arrogant look.
Before that girl could argue anymore that boy spoke again, "Look at this huge sanitorium! Who has built this? Our king!"
"Really? Then who had killed the bandit and saved our kingdom, you stupid? Our queen!"
Arjuna couldn't help but laugh at their conversation, how adorable. He slowly walked towards them and moved the elephant on the chessboard forward from the little girl's side.
The boy frowned a little but nonetheless, he moved his king forward but Arjuna soon moved the Queen from the girl's side blocking the king.
"Check-mate," Arjuna gave him a mirth full smile as he noticed the confused look of the boy.
"H-how did you-"
"Listen up boy, not only in a chessboard but also in a real-life, a king is nothing without his queen."
The little boy and girl looked at him seriously, ready to hear anything from Arjuna.
"Then what about our king he-" The little boy still tried to argue.
"The reason your king has started these sanitariums is for his queen and moreover he himself belongs to the Queen." A huge smile took over his face as Arjuna spoke the truth, the second he saw her months ago his heart knew that Chitra, his queen, is his lifeline and he is nothing without her.
"Um," The boy hesitated as he spoke, " Like The Queen's King?"
"Yes." Arjuna chuckled answering as he looked at his angelic wife who was happily chatting with the healer.
