After the crowning ceremony was over, I went back to our old chamber before taking Osman with me to our new chamber.

Mehmed insisted we share the same room even though it was against the Ottoman law. But when did we even follow the rules.

Iskender Pasha, who was appointed the new Hasoda Basi, bowed to me and I smiled and nodded at him. "Sultanam."

I went inside to see Mehmed pacing around the room but stopped as soon as he saw us. He came to us and hugged me before placing a kiss on my lips and a kiss on Osman's forehead.

He placed Osman on the bed before grabbing my hands. He slid a familiar ring into my ring finger and I shot him a confused look.

I look down at the ring again and finally recognised it. This was the famous ring that I've read about in one of the book. It was the ring of Hürrem Sultan. "Its . . . Handan Sultan's ring?"

"Yes," he replied. "This ring once belonged to my mother but now it's yours. This ring has been passed down from generations in our dynasty. The first and the real owner of this ring was the first Haseki Sultan of the Ottoman dynasty, Haseki Hürrem Sultan."

Then he shoved another ring on my index finger and I instantly recognised it again.

"I hope you remember this." He asked more like stated and I nodded. It was the ring I found under the bed the next day after I came here.

"It ring was gifted to my Valide by my Sultan father. Then she gave it to Selim on her death bed and asked him to give it to the next Haseki Sultan." He whispered as he drew circles on the back of my hand, looking down at out hands.

"Mehmed," I called and he look up. I cupped his face before placing a kiss on the tip of his nose. "Don't be sad. You are not alone. Osman and I, we are with you."

He smiled. "Of course, my love. I don't know what I'd do without you. I thank Allah everyday for sending you to me."

He took my hand and pulled me towards his study table where he did all his works. There was a something placed on the table covered by a silk cloth. He took it off revealing a gorgeous, magnificent crown.

"This crown belong to Hürrem Sultan but now it's yours." He said as he placed the crown on my hand. He lead me towards the mirror before adjusting it on my head. It for perfectly on my head.

"Throne of my lonely niche, my wealth, my love, my moonlight.

My most sincere friend, my confidant, my very existence, my Sultan

The most beautiful among the beautiful.

My springtime, my merry faced love, my daytime, my sweetheart, laughing leaf.

My plants, my sweet, my rose, the one only who does not distress me in this world.

My Istanbul, my Caraman, the earth of my Anatolia

My Badakhshan, my Baghdad and Khorasan

My woman of the beautiful hair, my love of the slanted brow, my love of eyes full of mischief…

I'll sing your praises always

I, lover of the tormented heart, Mehmed of the eyes full of tears, I am happy."

"It's beautiful." I whispered as I smiled at him. "Who wrote it?"

"Sultan Süleyman wrote this for his beloved wife Haseki Hürrem Sultan." He explained.

"He must have madly been in love with her." I mumbled and he nodded.

"He was. So madly that he went against all the laws, broke the tradition and married Hürrem Sultan." He said. "May Allah give us the same love they shared."

"Inshallah."

Osman started to cry and I pulled away from Mehmed before going towards Osman making Mehmed groan.

I picked Osman before rocking him back and forth while Mehmed glared at Osman playfully, pointing his fingers at Osman accusingly. "It's only been some days and you already stole my wife from me."

"Stop it Mehmed." I giggled at Mehmed before handing Osman to him.

Someone knocked on the door and Mehmed gave permission. Iskender walked inside before bowing, "Hünkarım, Sultanam."

"Yes, Iskender. What is it." Mehmed asked without moving his eyes away from Osman who was looking at his father with those big adorable eyes.

"The concubines from the Konya palace have arrived and the new Harem treasurer, Afife Hatun has also arrived." He informed and Mehmed nodded before dismissing him.

"Halime, I forgot to tell you. Hümaşah wanted to return to her palace so I send her back. Now, you are the new ruler of the Harem, you can choose whoever you want to be the Harem Kalfa." He explained as I took Osman from him and he wrapped his arms around me.

"What?" I asked in confusion. "Why did Hümaşah Sultan went away?"

"She didn't want to stay in the palace that took away both our parents and our brother. And the other reason is, she wants to be in her own palace with Zülfiker Pasha." He said and I nodded. Without Hümaşah Sultan, this palace will be so boring.

I handed Osman to Gülnihal and walked down towards the Harem. "Attention. Her Highness Haseki Halime Sultan." The door man announced my arrival as I walked inside the Harem where all the concubines stood in line.

My gaze fell on the new girls that stood in the front.

"Sumbul agha," I called out and he came running towards me.

"Sultanam." He bowed with a smily face.

"Who are these girls?" I asked referring to those girls.

"Those are Hünkarım's concubines who were in the Konya Palace." He explained and I nodded. I didn't know any of them because when I was there, I was either with Mehmed or Sumbul agha and not in the Harem.

I just ignored them and ask for the Harem aghas to bring in the boxes I asked for and they brought in. "Sumbul, I bought some gifts for the girls. Distribute it to them later."

"As you wish Sultanam."

"Girls, from today Firuze Kalfa will be the head Harem Kalfa and Afife Hatun will be the treasurer." I informed them before turning towards Sumbul again.

"Clean up the room Hümaşah Sultan was staying in before locking it up, understood?" I asked and he nodded. Some girls brought in the food and drinks that I ordered for and they started distrubing it.

I sat down and motioned Gülnihal and Esma to sit too before taking Osman for Gülnihal.

"Gülnihal, do you know who's that girl. The one with that butterfly broach." I said, eying the girl who kept on looking towards my side.

Gülnihal nodded. "Yes, Sultanam. She is Ayşe Hatun. She was one of Şehza- I mean Hünkarım's favourite when he was in Konya. That was long before you came. She went to Halvet thrice."

"Ayşe Hatun?" I asked one more time and she nodded. Ayşe. The one whom Sultan Mehmed married and had 2 sons with.

What if Mehmed started to take interest in her again?

No. He can't. He better not.

But what if he?

After all, we can't really change the whole history. Can we?
