I ran my fingers through my hair as I stare at the starless, empty, dark sky. It's going to rain.

Mehmed wrapped his arm around me before placing a light kiss on the nape of my neck and I relaxed into his touch.

My due date was coming soon and I'm sacred. What if they try to kill my baby? What if something happens to the baby?

"I know what you are thinking Halime." Mehmed said and I turn around to face him. He kissed my forehead. "It's going to be okey. I'll protect you and our child with my life, I won't let anything happen to both of you."

I nodded. I know he will.

"Everything will be fine, Ok?" He whispered and I nodded. "Now, come on. Let's feed you and our baby." He pulled me inside and sat me down on a pillow infront of the table before settling himself beside me and I lean against him.

The maids laid the food out before bowing and going to, leaving us alone.

"I asked the chef to prepare your favourite sweet. Here." He said as he placed the red pastery infront of me and I grinned at him before placing a quick kiss on his lips but he wasn't satisfied. He grabbed my face before kissing me passionately leaving me flushed and breathless.

He smirked at me and I playfully glared at him before turning my gaze back my precious pastery.

I grabbed a spoon before digging in. As I took the first bite, I let out a moan at the heavenly texture of the pastery.

Another bite, another moan.

I turn my gaze back at Mehmed to see him staring at me, his honey brown eyes turned dark as he stare at me with his eyes full of lust.

I licked my lips and he let out a little growl before pressing his lips on mine and my hand instantly left the spoon before getting lost in Mehmed's soft hair.

I felt a burning sensation in my throat but ignored it since it wasn't that harsh.

Suddenly the baby kicked hard and I pulled away from Mehmed before groaning and rubbing my lower stomach.

"What happened!?" Mehmed asked in panic but I couldn't answer him. My head started to feel dizzy, my throat started to burn and that baby made it harder for me to breath by kicking and moving restlessly.

"Aghas! AGHAS!" Mehmed yelled and some aghas rushed inside. "Summon the physician and the midwife. NOW!" He yelled before kneeling down and picking me up before placing me on the bed.

"Mehmed." I whispered his name as my vision became blurry.

"I'm here, Halime. It's going to be okey. You'll be fine. Just. . . just stay with me." He grabbed my hand before squeezing it.

My eyes slowly started to close before I lost my consciousness.

"Halime." I slapped her cheeks light but she didn't move or respond. "Halime."

The physician and the midwife came in and bowed to me. "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!?" I growled at them in frustration and they flinched.

"I swear, if anything happens to her or my child, I'll BEHEAD YOU. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!?" They nodded quickly before rushing towards Halime. Just then Hümaşah rushed inside.

"Mehmed." She rushed towards me and instantly embraced me into a tight hug. "What happen? What's going on. What happen to Halime?" She asked as she pulled away.

"I. . . I don't know. She was fine and the next minute. . . .I don't get it." I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.

"It's ok, Mehmed. It's going to be fine." She comforted.

"Şehzadem, our Sultana has been poisoned." The physician said as quickly took out a bottle from his case.

Hümaşah gasped before rushing towards them. She went on yelling at everyone but I couldn't hear anything.

It felt as if my whole world had shattered into pieces.

"Mehmed." Hümaşah cried out as she shook me. "Mehmed, get a hold of yourself. Nothing will happen to her. We won't let anything happen to her. Be strong."

"They poisoned her." I whispered as I turn my gaze at her with unshed tears, threatening to pour. "They poisoned her like they poisoned our Valide."

The history repeat itself. And I let it.

How can I let it happen? She kept on telling me but I didn't listen. I couldn't protect her.

"Mehmed. . . "

"I'LL KILL THEM WITH MY BARE HANDS!" I growled before marching towards the door just for Hümaşah to step infront of me, blocking my way.

"Calm down Mehmed. We still don't have any proof." She reasoned. "We need evidence."

"We need a bowl." The physician said catching my attention and I quickly took the bowl from the table and handed it to him before settling beside Halime.

"She'll live if she throws up." The physician explained and I glared at him.

"She better or I'll strangled you." I threatened before turning my gaze back at Halime. She look pale and if it wasn't for her low breathing I could have thought she was death.

She can't.

I won't let her die.

The physician rubbed some ointment on the tip of the cotton bud before bringing it under Halime's nose for her to inhale.

No reaction.

He rubbed some more ointment on cotton.

Halime jerked up and threw up and I let out a high of relieve.

Suddenly, she let out a high pitch scream before grabbing her bump and I turn towards the physician. "What's going on?"

"Şehzadem, the baby. It's coming." The midwife replied quickly. "Please go out." She said.

"No, I'm not leaving my wife. She needs me. I won't leave the room until and unless I'm make sure she's ok." I glared at the midwife who turn to Hümaşah.

"Mehmed, Şehzadem. Let them do their work. Come." She pulled me but I shook my head.

"No, Hümaşah."

"Mehmed let them do their work. Can't you see, Halime is in pain." She whisper-yelled at me. "Please."

I turn to look at Halime for the last time before marching out followed by others.

I almost lost it when I saw the murderers waiting outside.

"Şehzade, is everything alright." Şah Sultan asked as she took a step towards me but I stopped her.

"Take another step and see what I'll do with you." I gritted out before throwing a hard glare at all of them and they flinched.

"Go. Away. From. Here. NOW!" I growled at them and they stepped back but Şah Sultan didn't.

"Şehzade Mehmed, you can't talk like that to me." She glared at me and I turn my body fully towards her before talking a step forward and she took a step back.

"I know you were the one who did it." I said and she gulped. "Don't think I'll let you off easily. Be gone before I do something I'll regret."

She nodded.

The door of my chamber burst open and the midwife greeted us with a big grin. "Congratulations, Şehzadem. It's a Şehzade."

"And my wife? How's she?" I asked.

"Halime Sultan is fine now. We managed to take out all the poison before it was late." She replied.

I rushed in without wasting another minute. One of the maid was holding the baby but bowed to me and handed it to me as soon as she saw me. "Congratulations, Şehzadem." She said and I nodded.

Halime was still unconscious due to all the pain so, I just sat down beside her with our baby is my arms.

"Mashallah. He look just like you." Hümaşah said, looking down at the baby. "May Allah grant him all his wishes and a long, happy life with his parents."

"Amin." I whispered, without moving my gaze away from the baby.

The baby slowly opened his eyes revealing a pair of blue eyes. "And he got Halime Sultan's eyes." Ayşe giggled staring at the baby and I smiled at her.
