The drill was the same every year for the past 3 yrs, his mother had made it her mission to get him to go to the annual ball without fail. Prof.McGonagall had been so nice to the Malfoys ever since the war, making people understand that the family is trustworthy again, and the only opponent Voldemort is forever gone.

She had only one condition though, Draco has to come attend the event every year. "It will help him heal internally and keep him from the guilt" she had said.

So there he was, getting ready for the event. The only thing he was looking forward is he would get to meet his friends and yes, the 'The Golden Trio' would be there but he wasn't bothered. He would go there for his mother and that was it.
