《One Moment, One Breath》Chapter Eight

Aleesia did her best not to be nervous as she pulled her car into the school parking lot a week later. She had only gotten home a few hours earlier, utterly exhausted from pushing her body to its limits in the forest. She was tired, but she felt a little more at peace. She had decided to talk to her mates. She just didn't know when or how. She wasn't sure she had the guts to do it just yet. With a heavy sigh she jumped out of the driver seat, slung her heavy bag over her shoulder and made her way to the school building.

Both her car and her bag were left at her house where she had found them when she arrived home earlier that morning. She didn't know who had left them and there was no note and whatever scent they would have left was washed away by the rain. She knew though. It had to have been one of them.

She got to her locker quick enough and put in the combination, tossing the items she wouldn't need for her first couple of classes inside. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she closed her locker to find a bronze haired vampire standing inches away with a determined look on his face.

"You need to tell them." He demanded, not beating around the bush for even a second.

"I'll tell them in my own time. Stay out of it." She replied, glaring at him.

"You're hurting them, you know. They both really care for you." He said with a frown making her flinch.

"They are better off without me." She whispered, trying to hide the hurt she felt and erasing her expression to a neutral one before walking away to her first class.

No one bothered her for the whole morning. Not even the teachers called on her in class. It was like a dark cloud was hanging over her making the students and faculty steer clear. When the lunch bell rang she headed there and grabbed an apple and a water before taking a seat at an empty table on the opposite side of the cafeteria from where the Cullen's sat.

She felt it when they entered. There was a shift in the air and she could feel their eyes burning into her but she ignored it.She knew if she looked at them now she would cave. She finished her apple and water quickly then left, heading for the library, planning to hide there until History class was over.

By the end of the day she was barely present even in her own mind, running on pure instinct as she made her way out to the parking lot and climbed into her car to drive home. As tired as she was, it had not escaped her notice that a particular black car was already missing from the parking lot.

She got home and began working on her makeup work while contemplating what to do about the group project she still needed to complete her part of. It's not like she could not do the project, it wouldn't just damage her grade but also Alice and Jasper's. Not that they hadn't already completed high school a billion times before.

She sat cross legged on her bed with her math book on one side and a notebook in her lap. She had changed from the t-shirt and leggings she had worn to school into a pair of boyshorts and a tank top, wanting to be comfortable while she worked. She was nearly done with the last problem for that particular homework assignment when she felt the air shift. That had been her only warning.

A millisecond later her whole body was being pushed down onto the mattress by a furious looking, blonde vampire. She grunted from the force of it as she felt his body settle over hers, resting between her legs and pressing her into the mattress. A light whimper left her throat as she looked into his narrowed coal black eyes.

"You've been keepin' a dirty secret Darlin'." He growled, leaning in so that his nose was almost touching hers. His accent was much thicker than it normally was.

She felt his breath rush over her, making her dizzy and she whimpered, "What? I-"

Jasper leaned in, trailing his lips up her neck and along her jaw before resting a haris width above her own, "For once I am grateful that my brother can read minds and can't keep a secret to save his own damn life. It came in handy in this particular instance."

Aleesia's body went rigid against Jasper's as she processed what he said.

"He's DEAD!" She hissed, "His ass is about to become a permanent fucking halloweeen ornament!"

There was a sharp smack to her thigh causing her to yelp and look as Jasper wide eyed.

"We'll get to that later, Darlin'. Right now we need to talk." His eyes flickered down to her lips then back up to her eyes and his furious expression softened a little, "Can I kiss you, Sweetheart? I've been dying to kiss you for weeks."

Her eyes searched his face while her mind went in a million different directions but the second he felt her acceptance his lips were on hers, sending a pool of lava though her body that settled between her legs. His kiss was demanding and it sent her already frazzled brain into a frenzy. A deep moan rumbled from his chest making her melt into him as she met his lips with just as much passion, their tongues battling for dominance with Jasper being the clear winner.

He pulled away slightly, letting her breath as he pecked her lips softly then trailed kisses along her neck. He pushed his hips forward a little, resting his core against hers.

"Oh good God!" She moaned, making Jasper chuckle at her response and puledl away slightly.

Jaspers smiled down at her before pushing himself off of her and pulling her up off the bed. She stumbled a little. Feeling slightly lightheaded but he caught her around the wait and held her steady.

"Must be a better kisser than I thought." He laughed at her slightly dazed and confused expression.

"You're an excellent kisser, Love." Alice said, popping up out of nowhere. She then turned to Aleesia and smiled, "We need to talk."

"Yeah," Aleesia mumbled, "Count vampaw over there already said that. Your brother is a dead man by the way." She added as an afterthought.

"Count vampaw?" Jasper asked with an amused chuckle.

"Yeah," She nodded, "Cuz you're ancient. Vampaw. Vampire Papaw."

"I'm not that old!-" Jasper protested.

"You're older than dirt." Aleesia shot back with a smirk.

"One hundred Seventy eight is not that old! Carlisle is older!" He argued.

"Yeah but Carlisle wasn't the one that just had his tongue in my mouth." She reminded him in an attempt to shut him up but he just smirked.

"Didn't hear you complaining Darlin'." He laughed, making her blush bright red.

"As amusing and incredibly attractive as this is, we really do need to discuss this. Why don't we go to the living room and sit down?" Alice cut in, gesturing toward the bedroom door.

Aleesia suddenly grew tense and her two vampires led her down stairs to her living room. Jasper plopped down on the couch and yanked her down into his lap, setting his hands on her hips so there was no escape. Alice settled next to them, resting against them with her head resting on her hand.

Aleesia's nerves were going haywire as they stared at her and she fidgeted, barely resisting the urge she had to bolt for the front door.

"We aren't mad Darlin', A little confused maybe but extremely happy just the same so calm down okay?" Jasper whispered, rubbing a soothing circle on her hips. She wiggled in his lap, trying to adjust herself as she liked that particular contact a little too much.

"How aren't you angry? I imprinted on you! Both of you! And you were already together! I'm a disgusting monster born from violence! You should hate me!" She cried, as tears began to sting her eyes.

Alice put her hands on either side of Aleesia's face and pulled her close, "I don't ever want to hear you say those things about yourself again. You are NOT disgusting. You are NOT a monster and we could NEVER hate you!"

Jasper's hold on Aleesia tightened as Alice continued, "Before you ever showed up, before we had even met you I had a vision. I couldn't see who it was at first but we were happy. All three of us were happy together and as we got to know you the vision became clearer. It was you in my vision Aleesia. It was you who I saw by our side. Do you know what my first reaction was when I saw a vision of you Aleesia?"

The teary eyed girl shook her head, turning to bury her face in Jasper's neck, afraid of what the answer would be.

"I was completely entranced and I ran to Jasper and told him right away that we would soon find a person to love us. We are happy we met you okay? Even if you hadn't imprinted on us we would still want you alright?" Alice whispered, gently brushing away a tear that had escaped down her cheek.

Aleesia Turned from Jasper, launching herself at the Pixie Vampire while quietly sobbing, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you! I'm just so scared! My whole life I was told I was worth less than dirt. I wanted better for you. For both of you!"

"We'll take things slow okay? We'll go at your pace. I think we need to work on trust and communication but sweetheart there is nothing in this world better for us than you." Alice whispered, placing a gentle kiss on Aleesia's head.

It took a few minutes of sweet whispers and gentle touches but eventually Aleesia pulled away and offered them both a watery smile. Her heart was thumping softly in her chest, mostly from pure happiness as she looked into the faces of the two people she adored.

Her stomach did a flip as Jasper leaned down and pressed a cool kiss to her shoulder, making her suddenly aware of just how little clothing she was actually wearing. She blushed furiously making the vampires laugh as she jumped up from the couch and dashed up the stairs. She emerged a few moments later wearing an oversized jumper and a pair of jean shorts that still left a decent amount of her legs exposed.

"We have REALLY got to work on your fashion sense, sweetheart." Alice said while playfully scowling but secretly happy.

Aleesia stuck her tongue out at the pixie and replied, "There's nothing wrong with my clothes. I like my clothes."

"You may just want to give in, Darlin'. Alice always gets to us eventually." Jasper laughed deeply, sending happy shudders through her body. He looked at her and smirked almost as if he knew exactly what he was doing to her.

Aleesia made her way to her small kitchen while they watched her with wide smiles that just wouldn't go away. She pulled out some ingredients and quickly made a ham sandwich before tossing the stuff back into her fridge and turning on them with her sandwich in hand.

"So, who's going to help me pin Eddie boy down and shove a stick up his ass?" She asked, taking a bite of her food while smirking at Jasper who narrowed his eyes at her.

"Why would we do that? His intrusiveness actually helped in this situation. Aren't you happier now that we know?" Alice asked, tilting her head slightly.

Aleesia swallowed her food and nodded, "Yes, I'm definitely happy you know. I'm relieved. Keeping away from you two was like drowning in tar. It sucked, and not in the fun way." She shrugged, "But it's the principle of the matter. He snitched so I need my revenge and I don't make idle threats. I warned him."

"Can you not think of a way to get revenge that would be less, ahh, Violent?" Alice asked, a sweet smile gracing her lips.

Aleesia smirked, "I mean I could. He seems to have a problem not listening to my thoughts. I could just make them REALLY annoying. Some of my thoughts seem to bother him more than others." She mumbled the last part to herself, forming her plan in her mind. She knew she probably couldn't really HURT Edward but she could make him feel VERY uncomfortable.

"What thoughts would that be?" Jasper asked, standing from the couch and coming to a stop in front of her with his arms crossed over his stupidly perfect chest. Why the hell did he have to be so damn attractive? His scent was scrambling her brain.

Alice giggled from her spot on the couch and Aleesia smirked, "Oh you know. Some of my naughtier thoughts. I can have quite a dirty mind when I want to."

Japer blinked a few times, staring down at her with a mildly shocked expression. She worried momentarily that she had broken the vamp somehow when he let out a loud laugh.

They spent the rest of the night talking, discussing boundaries and expectations, all of them becoming extremely happy to discover they all wanted pretty much the same thing. Aleesia made it clear that she in no way favored one of them over the other. They both held an equal amount of her heart. They also took the time to help her finish up her makeup work, not wanting their mate to fall behind. It was a very good night and for the first time in weeks, Aleesia fell asleep with a smile on her face and true happiness in her heart.
