A Fractal Divide
Lesivar is a city in ascendancy. With recent innovations in magical crafting, the common people are experiencing a boom in comfort and wealth. The nobility, long used to being the stewards of knowledge and power, struggle to adapt to the new world in which they find themselves. A precarious balance has been maintained throughout, but forces stir beneath the surface threatening to send the city spiraling into chaos. This is my first attempt at writing anything longer than a short story, and I welcome any feedback or corrections. I'm posting this as I write, with each chapter going live upon completion. My current pace is about a chapter a day, which I expect to take my through the end of November. From there, I'm shooting for a chapter every two-three days until the book is completed, along with an editing pass of what is already up. I'm planning on three POV characters with unique insight into the story as it unfolds. Each chapter will contain only one POV. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Alex had every advantage anyone could ever want. He was growing up to be quite attractive, intelligent, charismatic, and of course, his parents left him with a fortune that made millionaires flush with envy. Everything would have been perfect, except for his genetics. Confined to the hospital for years, Alex never had the chance to truly live. And one night, he died in that hospital at the age of twenty-seven. But that wasn't the end of his story. Alex died, but he was... Definitely not chosen. he was quite frankly, grabbed at random. A Goddess from a different world had been asked to present a land of fantasy with heroes, five heroes as it happens to be. After having a interesting conversation with the surprisingly flighty Goddess, the five were then sent to this new world. However, for Alex, things were different. His story in this world, will be one of making his own second chance. His story will be one of making the best of whatever he can. He saw life pass him by once, and he never will again. He doesn´t know that one day he will be called “the Kaiser that dictated the future of the world” (This story shifts to other characters as well. It will not be told only by using one individual. But the actions of the main protagonist change the expiriences of the others.)
