《The Will Of The Cat》Chapter Nine: The Demon Box

As they arrive Johny feels a small tingling sensation go up through his body. They step out of the vehicle and grab their suitcases. Masahiro just stands in front of the vehicle staring at the house. Johny's parents both head inside after unlocking the door, his father coming back outside to finish unloading.
"Everything alright Masahiro?", Johny questions from the cat's side.
"Hmm? Ah, yes. Everything is fine. I just expected something else", Masahiro replied continuing to examine the house.
"You expect something smaller? The cabin is about one-third the size of this. I bet this seems big to you when compared to your little cat house", Johny boasts with a smirk.
"You must have me confused with an ordinary cat that happens to have their own cat house. I, on the other hand, lived in a mansion with your grandfather previously. And if you must know, my very first estate was a castle. I'm just surprised that this small two-story suburban house is your estate. I expected much more. Am I really going to have to stay here? I only stayed at that pitiful cabin because it was for a short while. How will I live like this?", Masahiro cried.
Johny stood there dumbstruck.
"Now, now Masahiro, it just looks small on the outside. Wait until you get inside the house, you'll see", Johny's father responded.
With that they finished unloading and went inside. Johny went straight to his room so he could unpack. After unpacking and everyone was returning to their usual routines, except Masahiro who was touring the house, Johny set up a game in his room.
Turning on the console and television, he grabs a controller. Johny sits down on his bed and sets up a game. As soon as the start screen appears Masahiro walks into the room holding a plate with a teacup on top.

"Greetings young master. Pardon my intrusion, but would you like some refreshments?", Masahiro greets from the doorway.
Johny looks from the screen to Masahiro then back to the screen.
"What is it?", he questions.
"It's herbal tea, with a spoonful of honey and a few cubes of sugar", Masahiro replies holding the plate out towards Johny.
Johny grabs the cup.
"It's not poisoned, is it?", Johny intrigues.
"Yes, now drink it", Masahiro said with a suspicious grin.
Johny gave him an angry look then took a slow sip. His face flushes with color then he downs the entire drink.
Placing the empty cup on the plate, Johny finally responds, "Hmm... That wasn't too bad".
Masahiro stares at Johny for a moment then outstretches his paw, the plate and cup disappearing.
"May I?", Masahiro questions staring at the empty spot next to Johny.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah", Johny answers without averting his eyes from the screen.
Masahiro sits on the bed and watches Johny play.
He's walking around a seemingly empty house. In a window you can see outside it looks like an abandoned suburban town. The sky is covered with grey clouds. The only sound that could be heard was his own footsteps throughout the house.
"So what are you doing? What's happening?", Masahiro intrigued.
"Ermm... so, in the game, an apocalypse broke out and I just found this guy's family killed by infected. I'm currently grabbing a few items to take with me before I leave his house", Johny replies continuing to play the game.
Masahiro continued to watch with further interest. He explores the house, eventually getting to the basement. He starts going down the stairs towards the basement. The sound of something falling echoes below.
He reaches the bottom of the staircase and walks to the middle of the dark room. He pulls the chain dangling from the light above and the room is lit up. A box is on the floor with some of it's contents spilled around it. He looks towards the shelf it was on and sees a mouse scurry away.

"May I try?", Masahiro finally questions after about an hour.
"Yeah, go ahead", Johny replies passing him the controller.
Masahiro holds it on his lap for a moment before finally commenting to himself, "This is going to be hard to do with my paws".
He begins walking forward through the dark underground tunnel. He holds a flashlight while trying to navigate through the twist and turns. He reaches a corner and as he's about to turn a zombie lunges at him in a jumpscare.
All of Masahiro's fur stands up as he jumps back. He makes a hissing sound and curses as the button indicator on the screen appears. Masahiro moves his paws around the whole controller in a flurry and watches as the death screen appears.
Johny laughs as Masahiro screams, "Demon box!", at the tv and runs out of the room in a strange feline manner with his fur standing up.

The day goes on and Johny gets accustomed to being home again. Night falls and silence fills the air. Many things await us in the new day.

Descendants of Cosmia
Reefa, Wellor, Rozo and Auri are four teenagers trying to get through life living in a village surrounded by the barren sands of the Hariq Desert; a village isolated from the walls of the 9 Monarchs of Cosmia. The world that lies beyond the walls involves the social segregation between humans and Haaras. Haaras are people with the ability to control elements of water, air and earth, whilst humans cannot obtain this power at all. Reefa had always thought of herself to be a human with no type of elemental wielding. However, after many reoccurences throughout her childhood in which she hears the voices of people that speak in the future, she has doubts about who she really is inside. The same phenomenon happens when she is 15 years-old, but this time the voices she hears alerts her of a future attack that will happen to the people of her village. When the time had come, Reefa and her friends escape their predicament and travel to the east towards the land of dragons known as Tetranazia. Bearing in mind the last words her aunt told her with a heavy heart, she must protect her friends from the dangers ahead and venture into the walls to search for the answers of the attack. This is an original English light novel (OELN). There will be several visuals of characters and world-building as you read this novel. The story's genre is mainly Shonen-influenced Josei and Fantasy. Do note that the story is slow-paced in development, so it might not be to your liking. I'll be updating 2 new chapters every month on the 25th (SGT).(I'm doing it monthly because I have to consider the pile of college workload I have (;_;) and I'll need extra time on drawing the illustrations) Occasionally, I'll do Bonus Releases, where I release more than 2 chapter in the next monthly update Feel free to give me feedback on my story. I will very much appreciate it! (ノ´∀`) I created this story on Scribble Hub, so you can also check it out over at their platform.

The Hand of Sigmar. A Warhammer Fiction.
Adebar von Bolstedt was a normal young Aristocrat once. Third son of the middling von Bolstedt line of Altdorf, capital of the prestigious Empire at the heart of the Old World, but when a quarrel with his brother escalates he decides to leave his pampered home, and soon finds himself stranded in the countryside. When confronted about his presence he claims to be led by the God-King Sigmar, but with the name of the Protector of Mankind come his responsiblities. Soon Adebar finds himself tasked with ridding a town of a mad killer, and settling some lethal family quarrels.Word from the AuthorGreetings! The Hand of Sigmar plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
