Y/N and the others had made it to Shizuka's friend's apartment and had settled in for the night. They gathered up all the weapons and ammo Shizuka's friend had as well as other supplies they would need. The plan was that they were going to stay there for the night and get some sleep. After that, they would head out to the evacuation site at Tokyo Bay where Y/N's sister Remi was in the morning. Unfortunately for all of them, it appeared as though plans were going to change. Takashi and Kohta had heard a dog barking in the middle of the night which was attracting the attention of the undead.

Y/N told them to warn the others that they might be leaving early, while they did that, Y/N heard the screams of a girl in trouble. Looking out in the distance and down the street, Y/N saw a little girl crying in front of a house. While she cried the undead tried to get through the gate that was keeping them out to get to her. Seeing that she needed help and didn't have much long before the undead got to her, Y/N sprung into action. He slid down the drain pipe to the street and rushed to go and save the little girl from the undead.

Y/N was cutting down all of the undead in his path as he tried to get to the young girl and save her. As Y/N continued to cut down the undead, he noticed that more and more where coming his way. He wouldn't be able to take them all on, so Y/N found climb a stone wall and staid there. Only a few of the undead had noticed him as most of them were being drawn to the little girl as she cried loudly. Seeing that he was high up away from the undead, Y/N got an idea of what he could do to save the little girl faster. Running along the top of the brick wall, Y/N avoided all of the undead bellow him.

Out of nowhere one of the undead grabbed Y/N's leg and tried to pull him down. Suddenly the head of that undead exploded, Y/N looked over and saw that Kohta has shot it with the sniper rifle. He was being Y/N's point man and providing him with the cover that he needed while he went to save the little girl.

"Thank you Mr. Gun Otaku" Y/N said to himself as he continued along the brick wall

Quickly Y/N ran to the location of the crying girl as Kohta killed any of the undead that tried to stop Y/N. Eventually Y/N made it to the house and jumped down from the brick wall into the yard. He quickly killed the undead that were banging up against the metal gate trying to get inside. Once they were dead he sheathed his wakizashi and turned his attention towards the crying girl. Laying on the ground next to a dead body of a man was a young girl with purple eyes and short pink hair. Standing next to her was a little dog that was growling with the hair on the back of its neck standing up.

"Hey there, are you okay?" Y/N asked the crying girl in a calm manner

The girl looked up at Y/N and wiped away the tears from her eyes

"Who...Who are you?" The girl asked Y/N

"The name is Y/N and I'm here to help you" Y/N answered

The little girl didn't trust Y/N all that much but she did see that he had killed the undead that were trying to get through the gate

"Can you tell me your name?" Y/N asked the little girl wanting to know her name

"Alice...Alice Maresato" the girl answered still wiping tears out of her eyes

"Well then Alice, why don't you come with me, my friends and I are going to a safe place" Y/N said to Alice

Alice wasn't sure but she could see that Y/N was a good person and that she could truly trust him

"Okay" Alice said getting up

The little dog next to Alice began to bark at Y/N getting his attention

"Don't worry little guy, I definitely didn't forget about you" Y/N said to the dog as he pat its head

"What about my daddy?" Alice asked Y/N

"Your dad?" Y/N asked confused

Alice then pointed over towards the body of a man laying on the ground across from her. Y/N walked over to the body of the man and saw a stab wound in his chest. Y/N had a good feeling that the people staying in this house were the ones responsible for killing him. That angered Y/N, he was sure the man was just trying to keep his daughter safe and they killed him. Y/N had half a mind to get Alice and the dog out of here and let the undead kill the people in the house. However, Y/N figured they were probably afraid and didn't want to kill the man.

Y/N knew he couldn't leave Alice's dad like that so he carried the body and sat it down on the grass. He took a white linen sheet and placed it over the body of Alice's dad. Once he did that, Y/N picked some flowers from the garden and sat them down on the covered body.

"You did all that you could to keep your daughter safe and I commend you for that, know that I will take responsibility for her and keep her safe and protect her no matter what" Y/N said to the body of Alice's father

Alice walked up to the covered body and fell to her knees crying, Y/N let the young girl cry and grieve over her loss. Once more undead started to gather outside of the gate, Y/N decided that now would be the best time if they left.

"We need to get out of here and get back to the others" Y/N said

"Where are your friends" Alice asked Y/N

Y/N lifted Alice up and pointed towards Rika's apartment where Kohta was still out on the balcony sniping undead

"That's my friend Hirano and that apartment is where my other friends are" Y/N answered

More and more undead began to push up on the metal gate, trying to get through it. Y/N could see that the gate wasn't going to hold for much longer so he needed to come up with a plan to get out of there quickly. Thinking about it, Y/N decided to use the way he got here to get out. All he had to do was carry Alice on his back and somehow keep his balance on the brick wall.

"Okay Alice, here is the plan and what I need you to do, you're gonna hop on my back and then we're gonna walk along the brick wall to where my friends are" Y/N told Alice

"Okay" Alice said

Y/N then kneeled down as Alice crawled on his back and held on to him around his neck. Before the two climbed the wall and left, the little dog barked at Y/N.

"Don't worry, I didn't forget about you" Y/N told the dog

The little dog barked and then ran up to Y/N as he bent down and picked it up, setting it inside of his shirt. Now with Alice on his back and the little dog hanging out of his shirt, Y/N was going to be able to climb back up the wall and get out of there. It didn't take Y/N long to get up to the top of the brick wall and as he did the undead managed to push down the gate, flooding the yard. Y/N could feel Alice squeeze tightly around his neck giving away to him that she was scared.

"Look Alice, you don't have to be scared as long as I am around, I won't let anything hurt you, I promise" Y/N told Alice

"You..You promise?" Alice asked Y/N

"I promise, I give you my word" Y/N answered

Hearing that, Alice began to relax just a little bit but she was still a bit fearful of the undead bellow them. Y/N continued to walk along the top of the brick wall avoiding the undead. Now with Alice and the little dog with him, Y/N couldn't be as fast as he wanted. Y/N continued until he got to a point where he would have to jump to the next wall.

"This isn't looking good" Y/N said looking at the jump

"Can you make it?" Alice asked Y/N worried

The little dog barked and Y/N could feel it wagging its tail in his shirt

"I can make it, you can trust in your big brother Alice" Y/N answered with a grin on his face

Y/N slowly took a few steps back, giving him some room to run so he could pick up speed before he attempted to run and jump to the next brick wall. Once Y/N sure he had plenty of room, he ran along the top of the wall as fast as he could. Once he got to that point, Y/N jumped across the gap between the walls and made it. However as Y/N landed he almost lost his balance but out of nowhere an undead managed to grab Y/N by the leg and pull him down.

"Oh crap" Y/N said as he tried to kick the undead off of his leg

"No" Alice said crying

"Alice get on the wall, you too little guy" Y/N told Alice and the little dog

Before the undead could bite down on Y/N's leg Hirano shot its head off and before Y/N could fall to the street, a hand reached out and grabbed Y/N. Looking up, Y/N could see that it was Takashi who had saved him from falling to the street with all the undead.

"Thanks for the save Komuro" Y/N said thanking Takashi

"Don't mention it Tatagami, now who is this?" Takashi asked Y/N looking over at Alice

"That's Alice" Y/N answered

"You made it" Alice said running over to Y/N hugging him

"I'm not gonna leave you like that, besides I made a promise and I intend to keep it" Y/N said

"Okay, now we need to get back to others" Takashi said

"Where are they?" Y/N asked Takashi

"Busujima was getting all of them into the truck parked in miss Shizuka's friend's garage" Takashi answered

"A set of wheels can get us to the evacuation site faster before they leave" Y/N said

"Now all we have to worry about is getting back to the apartment" Takashi said looking out at the street

Zombies were everywhere all over the street, all of the noise Alice and the dog made as well as Hirano covering me with the sniper must have drawn them here. Things weren't looking all that good for us, all of us needed to get to the others so we could leave. I had to come up with a plan and come up with one quick.

"Looks like we are going to have to make a run for it" I said

"What about them?" Komuro asked pointing towards the zombies

"We all know they move towards sound and can smell us up close, so let's create a distraction and move towards the apartment without getting close to them" I answered

"Sounds like a good enough plan to me" Komuro said

"Are you sure it is safe?" Alice asked me worried

"Trust me, we will be safe" I answered

"You might want this then" Komuro said handing me the MP5

"Oh yeah, we'll definitely be safe" I said taking the MP5 from Komuro

Now with a new plan, Alice got back on my back and the little dog hopped into my shirt. Komuro jumped down first onto the street and killed the undead that were next to us. I jumped down next with Alice and the little dog and followed behind him. Both of us walked past the zombies and made sure they couldn't hear or smell us. We weren't anywhere near the apartment and had a bit a ways to go from where we were. We crept slowly, I ended up taking the lead as Komuro watched my back with his bat in hand. Eventually we came to a large open area on the street, there wasn't any zombies around us.

I thought we were in the clear but a zombie stumbled forwards and hit a car. The zombie bumping into the car caused the alarm to go off which then brought all the zombies towards us.

"They're coming" Alice said

Komuro pulled out his pistol and began to shoot the zombies that were coming towards us. I quickly shoot a large amount of them down with ease using the MP5. Unfortunately the more that we killed the more zombies came towards us.

"This isn't looking good" Komuro said as he reloaded

"I can see that" I replied as I continued to fire the MP5

The more zombies that came towards us the more Komuro and I were pushed back. We started to become surrounded and we didn't have anywhere we could run to. Alice was getting scared and the little dog was also getting scared of all the zombies. Things weren't looking all that good for Komuro and I as we became completely surrounded by zombies.

"Get on that truck" I told Komuro

Next to us was a fairly large white truck that could provide us with the high ground advantage and keep the zombies from getting us from behind

"On it" Komuro said as he ran towards the truck

I followed behind him and shot down any zombies that followed us

"Hold on Alice" I told Alice as I jumped into the bed of the truck and got on the top with Komuro

"I won't let go of you" Alice said

"Good girl" I said as I pat her on the head

Now on the top of the truck, Komuro and I had a vantage point and were somewhat safe but not all that much. The zombies had surrounded the truck and began to swarm it trying to get to us. Komuro and I began to kill all the zombies we could, especially the ones that tried to climb up on the truck to get us.

"I'm running out of ammo Tatagami" Komuro said as he reloaded one more time

"Me too" I replied as I fired the last rounds in the MP5

I then pulled out my revolver and began to use it to shoot and kill the zombies around us. I was starting to wish I had grabbed my other weapons so we wouldn't be in this position.

"I'm out" Komuro said

I had fired my last shot and saw that I was also out of ammo

"Now what do we do?" Komuro asked

"All that we can do, fight and survive" I answered unsheathing my wakizashi and stabbing a zombie in the head

All of a sudden off in the distance, Komuro and I heard a very loud noise

"What was that?" Komuro asked

"I don't know but it can't be good" I answered

The noise got even louder and then, all of a sudden a large black humvee burst through the garage door of the apartment building

"Look" Alice said pointing at it

The humvee drove down the street at fast speeds, running over zombies and pushing cars out of its way. Hirano was sticking out of the top of it, shooting down zombies like some sort of action hero.

"We're saved" Alice said sounding excited

"Looks like we are kid" I said

"Geesh, Hirano must be in heaven" Komuro said

"Or at least his version of it" I replied

Eventually the humvee pulled up next to the truck we were on and we could see that miss Shizuka was the one driving

"Thanks for the cover Hirnao" I said thanking Hirano

"Don't mention it" Hirano replied as he shot and killed a zombie trying to get on the truck Komuro and I were standing on

"Hurry up and get in, we don't have all day" Takagi told both us as she stuck her head out the window of the humvee

"On it" Komuro said jumping to the humvee and getting inside of it through the hatch on the roof

"Looks like we're next" I said following behind Komuro

Once we got inside of the humvee we were safe from the all the zombies, Alice got off my back and sat next to me as the dog jumped out of my shirt and into Alice's lap

"What were you two idiots thinking doing something stupid like that?" Takagi asked Komuro and I, scolding the both of us

"She needed my help" I answered looking down at Alice

"And he needed my help" Komuro answered

Takagi looked at Alice and didn't say anything else to us

"I see" Takagi said

"Alright miss Shizuka, punch it" Busujima told miss Shizuka

"On it" she replied as she stepped on the gas and drove off at fast speeds down the road

"You almost forgot these" Busujima said to me handing me my repeater and shotgun

"Who's this?" Miyamoto asked looking at Alice

"I'm Alice, Alice Maresato" Alice answered telling the others her name

"Well Alice you are safe with us" Miyamoto told Alice

"I know" Alice said grabbing my arm and holding it

"You better not think about doing weird things to that innocent little girl or there will be severe punishment" Takagi told me

"Don't worry Takagi, I made a promise to keep her safe that's all" I said trying to get her to calm down

"Who did you promise?" Busujima asked me

"I promised her father" I answered

It didn't take the others long to figure out that since Alice's father wasn't here that he was dead. Talking about Alice's father made her upset but before she could cry, Takagi and Miyamoto held her and comforted her. I knew that Alice would get along with the others and that they would also keep her safe. Soon the little dog barked at me, getting my attention before I lifted my arm up and let him nuzzle into my side.

"What are we going to do with you?" I asked the dog

"His name is Zeke" Alice said speaking up

"His name is Zeke?" I asked Alice confused

"Zeke is his name" Alice said

"I like it, Zeke is a good name" I said

As miss Shizuka continue to drive down the street, Hirano came back down and closed the hatch

"Now that we're safe and out of there, we need to come up with a plan on what we should do next" I said getting everyone's attention

"It's a little late, can't we just get some sleep?" Takagi asked

"Tatagami-san is right, we need to know what we are going to do next before we continue on" Busujima said agreeing with me

"We know getting to the JDF evacuation site is a must but is there anywhere else we need to stop before then?" Komuro asked

"Hey guys, we are going to need a lot more gas if I'm to get us to Tokyo and this thing could use a bit of tune up as well" miss Shizuka said speaking up

"I'm pretty handy when it comes to vehicles but I'd need the tools and a safe place to work on the thing" I said

"We'd also need a lot of gas for this thing and I'm sure most of the gas stations have been looted and destroyed" Miyamoto said

"We could always go to my house" Takagi suggested

"You didn't live far from here do you?" I asked Takagi

"My family's house is a bit a ways away but I'm sure we have enough gas to get us there" Takagi answered

"Does your father have a garage where I can work on this thing?" I asked Takagi

"You wouldn't have to do a thing, my family has a personal mechanic that works on our vehicles, I'm sure he's there and he can do all the work on this thing" Takagi answered

"I don't know about you but that definitely sounds like a plan to me" Hirano said

"Looks like it is all agreed then" Busujima said

"Miss Shizuka head towards the Takagi home" I told miss Shizuka

"Alright then, let's get going" miss Shizuka said

Now with a new destination set, all of us could relax and get some sleep for the time being. Alice slept on me, her head on my lap, Zeke also slept on my lap with Alice. The little girl had been through a lot and she deserved this moment of peace. I wasn't ready for Busujima to fall asleep and lean on my shoulder, that caught me off guard. I didn't want to wake her or Alice up so I just let it happen and went with it. We all wished we could have stayed at the apartment a little bit longer but plans changed and we had to leave. Now all we had to do was head to Takagi's house before we headed to Tokyo.

"I'm almost there sis, there's just one little pit stop that I have to make before I do" I said to myself looking out the window at the night sky
