"I'm so happy that you made it! I got some snacks for us already and I found this great movie that I thought we could watch together!" Yeji grinned as she closed the front door behind you.

"That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the evening." You said and she nodded her head in agreement.

"What's the movie called?" You asked as you took a seat on the sofa and stared at her as she did the same.

"I don't remember." She said as she pressed play. "But I think it will be good."

"Well, I'm excited to see it."

You turned your attention to the tv and put your head on the back of the sofa as you got comfortable next to your best friend for the first time in what feels like forever.

You've been friends for as long as you can remember and since she's so busy these days, your time together is scarce.

But it's always worth the wait. Even if you don't see her every day, it's as though you haven't even been apart. You're as close as can be and nothing in the world can ever separate you or break your friendship.

Yeji reached for a bowl on a snack she prepared and you happily reached into it to steal a little of it, your hand brushing against hers for a second.

It didn't faze either of you. You just looked at each other and chuckled a little before returning your attention to the film.

So far, it seemed to be pretty good. You were enjoying yourself, finding that it was hard to take your eyes off of the screen for the most part.

But then... things got a little uncomfortable.

You shifted uncomfortably as the words falling from their lips became cringy to listen to.

On top of that, the way they kissed and the sound of their lips brushing against each other's made only made you wish you could crawl into a hole and hide away.

It seemed as if they were trying to actually suck each other's faces off and the cringe you felt as they awkwardly made out was inexpressible.

And judging by the way Yeji was clenching her teeth and looking anywhere but at the tv, you knew she felt the same.

"Uh, Yeji?"

"Yeah?" She asked.

Your eyes met and you both tried to focus on each other rather than the awkward scene continuing to play.

"Can you, uh,...." You cleared your throat and closed your eyes, cringing over the sound of the characters continuing to kiss.

"Fast forward it?"

"Yeah." You answered.

She grabbed the remote and looked back at the screen, only to shake her head and exit out of it entirely.

"You know what? Better idea, let's find something else to watch!" She awkwardly chuckled.

"Good idea."

This time, she handed you the remote and let you choose whatever it was that you wanted.

"I'm sorry for putting that film on. I had no idea it involved a scene that weird. I feel bad about it. We were both so uncomfortable." She said and you just chuckled, seeming to be much more relaxed now.

The intro of the new film began and Yeji put her head back against the sofa with a sigh of relief.

"Thank gosh. Now I can look at the tv again."

"Yeah." You giggled. "Yeji, don't worry about the movie. It's no big deal. We've got something better to watch now."

"Okay." She smiled.

"Besides," you paused and took her hand into yours, softly brushing your thumb across her knuckles which made her heart skip. "I can handle encountering that awkward scene. We're still together, so that's all that matters."

"You're right."

You put your head on her shoulder and curled up to her, watching the film you turned on together.

It was a romantic comedy and each time you giggled, she'd find herself grinning from ear to ear. She decided to watch you watch the movie instead. It was a better view.
