You heard many good things about Wanmin restaurant. Mostly because Hu Tao always praised its delectable cuisines, along with Xiangling's top tier unique cooking.
But you never really experienced the restaurant's food firsthand, until today.
Zhongli insisted on driving the both of you to the restaurant since Xiao refused to drive and you... well.
But nonetheless, Xiao eventually gave in and agreed to let his guardian drive you both.
Upon arriving, you observed the restaurant intently, noticing every detail. And you had to admit, you were excited to have your first date here.
The traditional style of the building did it justice, and you could only imagine how good the food would taste.
After entering, you both saw a familiar face approach you.
"Welcome!! I'll show you two where your table is!" Xiangling exclaimed as you both walked in, causing the two of you to shift your attention towards her.
You both simply nodded before following the female from behind. And after taking a seat across each other at the table, Xiangling waved to you both as she went off again.
"What will you order?" You asked Xiao, trying to prevent a silence atmosphere. Though, you already knew the answer.
"Almond tofu."
Of course. You gave him a small smile as you sighed. Andd it's awkward.

Hu Tao lead the group to the restaurant's entrance quietly, making sure you and Xiao didn't notice them.
"Alright, we will split up here so that they don't get suspicious when we go inside," the brunette explained.
Scaramouche crossed his arms while clicking his tongue. "I still don't think this is a good idea."
"Just do as I say."
She gestured for Heizou and Itto to go in first. Heizou simply shrugged his shoulders and went inside, while Itto was more hesitant but eventually gave in.
Scaramouche and Childe went in next, Keqing and Kaeya followed after them, and Hu Tao went in last.

She was more than confident about how this would turn out.
And certain that there was absolutely no way that you or Xiao would ever recognize them.

Xiao immediately recognized Itto the moment he walked in, despite his "alpha" disguise. And his alpha disguise was just a large black hat, a black coat, and dark tinted sunglasses. Completely not suspicious at all.
The male sighed and facepalmed himself, realizing that this was most likely Hu Tao's doing.
"What's wrong?" You asked him, where he then quickly shook it off. "It's nothing, don't worry."
"Oookay." You turned around in the hope of finding out whatever caused Xiao's sudden strange change in behavior, but sadly found nothing.
"Have you been to this restaurant before?" You asked, facing him again. Xiao nodded. "A few times, yeah."
The silence began surrounding you both once more. 'Archons. Please make this less awkward.'

Hu Tao noticed the awkward atmosphere and quickly thought of something to help you.
"Childe?" She spoke into her ear mic, which she had bought for everyone in the group so that they could all communicate better. "Yeah?" The ginger replied from the other end.
"Can you sing?"
"What..."
"Can you sing?"
"No, he can't sing for shit. Do you want everyone to go deaf?" Scaramouche joined in. Muffled laughter could be heard from both Itto and Kaeya.
"Actually. I can sing pretty well," Childe claimed, earning a scoff from the navy haired male.
"Perfect. Do you see that speaker and mic at the far left? Go use it to sing something."
"Alright!" Childe got up from his table and sneakily began walking to the speaker, while Scaramouche facepalmed himself.
"I thought we were supposed to stay hidden?" Heizou whispered into his mic. "Don't worry, Childe has a disguise!" Hu Tao responded confidently. "You want us to get caught, don't you?"

"Heh just watch how it goes, Heizou."

You saw an odd individual walking over to the speaker and mic, which caught your attention. They were wearing a black hat larger than Itto's, a longer black coat, and branded dark tinted sunglasses. "Hey Xiao, what do you think that person's doing?"
Xiao turned around to look at him and had to fight the urge to facepalm himself again. 'This idiot.'
Childe used the speaker to put on the only song he knew the full lyrics to. He picked up the mic and took in a deep breath before singing. "ᵀʰᵉ ᶜˡᵘᵇ ⁱˢⁿ'ᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇᵉˢᵗ ᵖˡᵃᶜᵉ ᵗᵒ ᶠⁱⁿᵈ ᵃ ˡᵒᵛᵉʳ, ˢᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇᵃʳ ⁱˢ ʷʰᵉʳᵉ ᴵ ᵍᵒ."
The look of pure terror was clear on both yours and Xiao's face. There was only one person who would willingly sing that song in public, you thought. Childe.
While you and Xiao were horrified, the other groud had a completely different reaction. Hu Tao was having a difficult time holding in her laugh, while you could hear Itto and Kaeya laughing their asses off from the back.
Even Heizou wasn't able to hold in his laughter. Though, Keqing went on her phone, pretending she wasn't hearing any of it. Scaramouche, on the other hand, was simply disgusted. His eyes were widened by the pure disbelief of what he was witnessing. Similar to Xiao.
"What are they doing here..." you asked Xiao, who was far too shocked to even give a proper response.
"Make it stop." Heizou spoke in a low tone as he tried to contain his laughter. "Trust meeee. They'll love it!" Hu Tao kept her confident tone.
Childe continued singing his heart out and all the two of you could do, was watch. Until eventually, the song came to an end. Finally.
You let out a sigh of relief. "It's finally over," you huffed as you placed your head on the table. Xiao sighed along with you.
○●○
"I think that went great, don't you guys think?" Hu Tao chuckled, enjoying every lasting moment of this. "I'm pretty sure Xiao wants Childe dead. Well, if he didn't already before," Heizou commented.
"He isn't the only one," Scaramouche added on.
"C'mon guys. It couldn't have been that bad," the ginger pouted. "I think I did great."
"Sure you did! At least we were able to kill the silence," Hu Tao responded proudly, completely satisfied. "Anyway. Heizou and Itto, you're up next."
She could hear Heizou choking on air while Itto gasped. "Is it my time to shine?" The giant asked, his eyes practically sparkling.
"What." It was now Heizou's turn to take Scaramouche's place and be embarrassed in front of everyone.
"Yes it is, big guy. Go for it!"
○●○
Your food finally arrived. You and Xiao decided to pretend whatever that was never happened and continued on with your date.
However, that was until you noticed two more figures walking past you. "What the hell are they doing now?" Xiao glared at them, he was absolutely done.
Itto and Heizou stood in the middle of the restaurant. Heizou had his arms crossed and wore a face that showed he didn't want to be there.
Itto, on the other hand, was shining with joy. Excited for what he was about to do next.
After Itto had told Heizou of his idea, the shorter male wanted to leave the restaurant immediately but chose not to, for the sake of Hu Tao's plan.
Meanwhile, Hu Tao suddenly felt a string of regret wrap around her after seeing the two stand next to each other.
Your eyes widened in disbelief. Just when you thought the embarrassment was finally over, something else came up.
Itto stood there proudly, wearing a wide grin. "Hello, ladies and gentlemen. The alpha has arrived."

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
