Today is one of the biggest days in my whole entire career. Today I'll be attending an event in the bloody Buckingham palace?! What?! When did that happen?

I got ready almost an hour ago, I just don't have the courage to go out of my room. Alex is waiting for me downstairs. He booked a limousine to take us there so we could look extra elegant tonight. I finally gather up the courage and I go out of my room. My heels make a noise on the wooden floors and Alex appears at the bottom of the staircase.

He looks like a film star. But, in the best way imaginable. His dark brown suit really matches my green dress. He also made sure to put a handkerchief with flowers on it. It matches the flowers on my dress. His eyes go up and down on my body and I feel amazing.

"You look godly." he says smiling at me.

I take his hand and he kisses it softly.

"You look rather dashing." I mimic him.

"Thank you madam." I giggle at his goofiness.

"Children. I need to take a picture of you. You both look amazing together." Miriam says running out with a camera in her hand.

"Miriam we should really head out." I say

"This will only take a minute." We comply and she starts snapping photos. She takes some with just me in them and some with just Alex in them. Then Richard comes out and he wants a picture with me. I of course say yes and Miriam takes the picture.

"How about I take a photo of you three now?" Alex offers taking the camera from Miriam's hands. She looks up at him and then to me. Sort of surprised. She runs to Richard and I and we smile at the camera. Richard stands next to Alex and smiles at the two of us. I hug Miriam and Alex takes a picture right away.

"We should really head out now." I say

"Have fun and good luck darling." Miriam says cupping my cheek.

"Thank you and I will." I say looking at Alex.

"You keep her safe." Richard says to Alex.

"I will sir, I will." Alex says looking at me now.

We get into the limo and I can feel nervousness surfacing my body. Thankfully Alex noticed and drew circles on my shoulders to calm me down. I took his hand and we stayed quiet until we arrived to the palace. We showed the invitation to the guards and we were let through immediately.

We got out of the vehicle and walked inside. There was a stage and also seats lining all around. We found a seat and waited for the ceremony to begin. I read that first there will be an awarding ceremony for some of the chosen people. And then there will be a royal dance in the ballroom.

Prince Charles gets onto the stage and greats everyone. He gives a speech about their tradition of holding this specific event. I feel like this is all a dream. I couldn't possibly be attending this, can I? He starts to talk a bit more and calls the Queen to the stage. We all stand up to show our respect to her and another man joins her on stage. He carries a huge suitcase and then another runs in with a table. They open the suitcase and lay it onto the table. The Queen starts calling names and people starts getting up onto the stage with queen Elizabeth herself. She names the reason for the medal and all of these people are scientists or some huge influences of the world. I didn't think she would put me in the same category as them, but she did.

"Lena Agnes Adams. Please join us on stage to accept medals for bravery, generosity and patriotism." A man stays into the mic.

"Thats amazing" Alex says hugging me. I separate from him and walk down to the stage. I walk up the stairs and I can feel the tears of joy welling up in my eyes. I feel like I'm going to faint.

"It's a pleasure to meet you your majesty." I say and bow my head at her.

"The pleasure is all mine dear." She says and the man from before gives her two pins and a medal. I crouch in front of her and she puts the pins onto my chest. I bow my head and she puts the medal on me.

"Thank you for this your majesty." I say crying.

"You're welcome. You deserve it the most out of all the people in this room." I nod and I go back to my seat. Alex takes my hands and kisses them both.

"I am so bloody proud of you Lena." He says quietly.

"Thank you."

"here." He says and gives me his handkerchief. I pat down my tears and look ahead. Alex kisses my cheek and I lean my head onto him. The feeling his lips on my cheek gave me is something I've only felt once. Oh no.

The remaining of the ceremony we stay seated until it is time to go to the ballroom. We are welcomed by tables with drinks and food and all sort of treats. The middle of the room is empty hence the dance floor. Soft music starts to play on the speakers and Alex guides us to the middle of the dance floor.

"May I have this dance?" he asks with his hand in front of me.

"Yes you may." I say and we clasp our hands together. We dance softly to the song and I can't even begin to comprehend what just happened.

"I must say the medal on your neck really goes with the colour of your eyes." He says

"Oh you don't say? Hm. Maybe it is meant to be." I joke.

"It really is." He says softly smiling at me.

The music changes to waltz and we change where our hands stay. We dance and laugh at the funny faces he makes during it. The song finishes and we go to get some drinks. I can't be doing any of this sober. Not anymore at least.

"Ms Adams would you like to join Queen Elizabeth for tea?" A man walks up to me.

"Of course let me just get Alex." I walk over to him and tell him to leave the drinks. I tell him where we're going and he just looks at me excited. I think I brought just the right person with me.

We follow the man and he leads us to a private room. We enter behind him and there she is. She is sitting in the middle of the room leaning back. Prince Charles is sitting the seat next to her, alongside Camilla.

"Oh wonderful. Come sit." Charles says as soon as he sees us. We sit down opposite of the three of them.

"What's your name young man?" Camilla asks Alex.

"I'm Alex Dentré, I'm a friend of Lena's" He says

"Nice to meet you, I'm Charles." Charles says standing up and shaking his hand.

"Lena, I'm pleased to finally meet you." Charles says and shakes my hand. I smile at him and he returns to his seat.

"Thank you for joining us Lena. I was very happy when I found out you'll be coming here as well." The queen says

"I wouldn't miss this for anything." I say smiling at all of them.

"I was very inspired by your work. I find you quite interesting. You were out of the public eye for six years and when you decided to how up you made all of us very proud of you. You wore our flag on you chest while you were helping out those poor people. I congratulate you on that." Elizabeth says.

We spent over an hour talking with the royal family members and we said our goodbyes and joined the rest of the people in the ballroom. We danced and drank and if we're being honest I was just waiting to wake up. It felt like a dream come true. I had an amazing man dancing with me. I just got three awards from the Royal family and I am in a beautiful dress on a dance floor. We took pictures and laughed for the rest of the night. Alex called the driver and we went outside to get some fresh air.

"How was your night?" I ask him.

"One of the most amazing ones yet." He says.

"I'm glad to hear that."

"Thank you Lena. For inviting me. I know there were countless options." He says

"There will always be countless options. The difference is I chose you. So stop it." I say putting a hand to his chest.

"Thank you for blessing my life." He says

The car arrived soon and we decided to sleep at my place. It was the closest to where we were so why not?I got inside and closed the door behind Alex. We both climbed the stairs and went to our own rooms. I got changed into some shorts and a t shirt and started taking off my makeup.

I heard Alex come inside and I turned to see him in a tank top and some shorts as well.

"Hey you." I say.

"Hey." He says quietly.

"Whats going on with you?" I ask

"Nothing. I'm just happy." He says smiling at me.

We go to my room and he lays next to me. He falls asleep as soon as he relaxes his body. I lay there until I too fall asleep.

I woke up with a weight on my stomach. I turn to the side to see the back of Alex's arm laying on me. His legs and mine are basically tangled together. I lay back down to try and adjust to the sunlight thats coming from the windows. I watch Alex sleep and he looks peaceful. I could watch this all day.

"Good morning creep." He says opening his eyes.

"Morning. How did you sleep?" I say leaning on my side.

"Good. I didn't wake up at all." He says

"Yeah I think you fell asleep in a matter of seconds." I say.

"Can I tell you something?" He asks turning to his side too.

"Always. What is it?" I ask

"I... I love you." He says. Say what now?

"You- You just skipped a lot of steps." I say with my cheeks red form embarrassment.

"No, No I didn't mean it like that. I meant platonically. I love you." He reassures.

"Oh Alex." I say and roll over to hug him.

"I love you too."

"See, this just feels right. I feel like I met my soulmate." He whispers into my ear.

"I feel the same way." I say

"Are you ticklish?" He asks

"What noo Alex stop it!" He flips us and sits up. He tickles my sides as I fight for air.

"What so no?" He smiles devilishly.

"You're.. dead." I say between breaths.

"Not if you don't catch me." he says and bolts out of the room. I chase after him and jump him in the living room. I start tickling him and he laughs now. He sneaks his hands onto my sides and tickles me back. I fall back and he picks me up over his shoulder.

"Put me down Alex!" I yell

"Not yet." he says and spins me around.

I laugh and he walks over to the back door.

"No Alex put me down." I say hitting his back

"In a minute." He says and walks outside. He walks to the pool and throws me inside.

I swim to the surface to find him im fits of laughter.

"Ha ha very funny. Now could you please help me?" I say extending my arm to him.

"Sure, grab on." He says offering his hand. I take his hand tightly and pull on it really hard. He loses his balance and falls into the pool with me. I laugh at him and be just glares at me.

"Look at you two!" Miriam says coming outside.

"Hello Miriam." I say

"Are you two hungry?" She asks

"Kind of, yeah." I say

"Get dried and come to the kitchen." She says amused. We smile at her and she leaves back inside.

"The water is freezing." he says

"No shit sherlock, come on, let's get changed." I say and pull myself up the wall of the pool.

Miriam returns with two big fluffy robes for the two of us.

"Thank you, you're a lifesaver Miriam." Alex says putting it on him.

"You're welcome dear." she says and we head up the stairs.
