Lena pov

Currently I am on a plane to Los Angeles with Chris. We're flying over there for Roberts birthday party. He's hosting it at a villa and it is the most extra and 'Robert' thing I've ever seen. He sent us the invitations and the pictures of the place. It is huge. Chris and I teamed up to buy him a present together. I bought him a vinyl player and about 20 vinyl records and Chris bought him a whiskey kit. We put it all in a big box and wrapped it up nice. Of course we put in a card and sent it over mail. Robert will get our present today I believe.

"I can't wait to see his reaction. He's been wanting that player for so long now." Chris says

"I know right. I just love getting gifts for people!"

"Will Scarlett be able to attend?" He asks me

"How would I know?" I ask him

"Well you two have made up. I thought you were going to go back to your old selves."

"We both know I can't do that."

"She'll only hurt you if you let her Lena." He says

"Yeah that is why I'm not letting her get any closer." I say

"She likes you for god sake!" He says

"But she loves him."

"You can't possibly know that."

"I can. She can like me for all she wants but I know that she's going to regret it."

"You don't know that. You think that." He says angry now.

"I am fine with it. I'll forget about her in no time." I say

"If so then hand me your wallet." He says

"Why do you need my wallet?" I ask him

"You're giving me that picture of her right now."

"How did you even know it was there?!" I say

"Give it back if you're so persistent that you're fine with not being with her."

"No. I'm keeping it and you can shut up." I say

"You love her don't you?" He asks

I hesitate for a second. I've never admitted those feelings about her. I've never talked about them to someone else in this depth. Chris knew everything but he chose to give me space and time to talk about it if I felt comfortable.

"With all my heart." I say looking down.

Chris puts a hand on my shoulder in a comforting matter and just lets me feel the emotions that are overflowing me.

"Get some rest. As soon as we land we'll need to be getting ready." He says shifting in his seat.

I put on my headphones and play some music and start to drift off to sleep. In a matter of seconds I am awoken by Chris softly shaking my shoulder. He buckles my seat belt and we land. We didn't bring too many things and we decided to pack just one suitcase. I wasn't too thrilled to stay here for a day and pack a whole thing. We also booked one room with two beds.

My nightmares are getting worse and Chris helps a lot. He hears me while I have those dreams and wakes me up. Then he plays me some music or makes me laugh so I can fall back to sleep. He's been staying at my place again and I'm really lucky to have him as my best friend. We get off the plane and call a taxi to take us to our hotel. We need to start getting ready as soon as we arrive there.

Chris opens the door to our room and we just hurry inside. I open up our bag and take out our outfits. He goes to the reception and asks for a steamer while I do my makeup. He steams our outfits and puts everything on a hanger. I do my hair and he does his. We finish everything off and he gives me the opportunity to change in the room while he goes to the bathroom. Selena is a lucky woman.

I put on some perfume and take out a watch for Chris. He liked my brown rolex a bit too much so I decided to surprise him and give it to him since it matches his outfit. I put it on his bed and when he saw it I thought he was going to cry. He looked so happy about it too. He hugs me and thanks me so many times that I have to stop him.

We take an uber to Robert's villa and we're kind of late. The party starts at 7pm and right now it is almost 8. I hope they don't mind. We tipped the driver and went inside. There were tons of people here. A lot of famous actors amd even a few singers. I finally found the man of the hour and ran his way

"Robbie! Happy birthday!" I say as I hug him tightly

"Thank you Lena. Glad you can make it."

"Happy birthday Robert! I wish you all the best." Chris says giving him a hug too.

"Thanks man. I really appreciate you two flew out here." Robert says

"Hey! You're not just anybody to us. Where is everyone?" I ask

"Mackie and Mark are inside eating. Scar and Colin were inside too. Renner is probably already wasted and oh Tom came too. He's with Zendaya now." He says pointing to the inside.

"Alright we'll go say hi." Chris says taking my hand

"I'll be fine don't worry." I say

"I'm here even if you won't" He says squeezing my hand.

Inside we're met with Renner. He hugs the both of us and walks over to the bar afterwards. Chris and I laugh at that and find Mackie finally.

"This place is like a maze dude." Chris says

"Sure is. But the food though. Fenomenal." Mackie says wiping his hands

"Hey Mackie how are you?" I say giving him a hug.

"I'm good. You know me. I'm always grindin, trying to find something else to do and more money to make." He says

"How the tum tum?" He asks pointing to mu stomach

"It's better. In a week or so I'll be off meds." I say

"And then you'll be able to drink?" He asks

"And then I'll be able to drink." I say

"Sweet! I'm so happy for youu." Mackie says all happy.

"Hey you guys! We just saw you across the room." Lizzie says and hugs us all.

"I'm Robbie I don't think we've met." A man with a beard offers me a hand to shake

"Lena, pleasure to meet you." I say shaking his hand

"How about I get you all some drinks. It's a free bar here." He offers to all of us.

"Sure, but make sure to bring a juice box on your way. She can't drink." Chris says pointing to me.

"Okay." Robbie says confused and heads back

"He probably thinks you're underage right about now." Mackie says and Chris starts laughing at that.

"Wait. I don't get it. Why can't you drink?" Lizze asks me

"Oh you don't know?" Mackie asks her and she shakes her head

"I had surgery in over a month so I am still on some meds and because of them I can't drink alcohol." I say simply.

"Oh. Oh I'm sorry I should've known." She says

"Don't worry. It's fine. I can go without alcohol for another week." I say

"Okay, have you seen Scarlett and Colin?" She says turning around to look for them.

"No, what about them?" Chris asks

"They are so cute! Those two have been here for an hour and they never stopped holding hands. How adorable is that!" She says

"I bet we'll see them soon." I say

"Here are the drinks everyone! I got Lena a Capri sun." He says handing drinks to everyone.

"Thank you. This is great." I say smiling at him.

"How old are you?" Robbie asks and Chris laughs again. This time Mackie joins him.

"I told yall." Mackie says

"I'm 29." I say smiling at him

"Oh. Sorry I thought you were twenty or something." Robbie says embarrassed.

"Oh thank you! I get that a lot." I say trying to lift his spirit.

We fall into nice chatter the five of us and we decide to sit on one of the sofas to talk properly. Our feet were getting tired pretty fast. When all of a sudden I hear a voice behind my back.

"Is that Lena I see?" Colin says walking up to me. Scarlett is following behind.

"Hello. How are you." I say and offer a hand. He pulls it towards him and hugs me.

"I'm great and you? How are you feeling?" He asks me

"I'm doing good." I smile at him.

He really is a nice guy. I know that fight with Scarlett happened a few weeks ago and I am not defending him. But, he seems fine with me. He's super nice to me every time we see each other.

"I see you're still drinking juice." He points to my capri sun on the table.

"Yeah. I still have some time until I can drink actual alcohol." I say

"Have you seen my gorgeous girlfriend Lena?! I mean look at her tonight." He says giving her a twirl.

My eyes scan her and she looks magnificent. Her eyes match the dress she's wearing and her heels are just making her legs look amazing. I notice the golden chain on her neck and smile lightly. Knowing where it comes from and the love I have for it. Along with the love I have for her.

"You look beautiful Scarlett." I say kindly.

"Thank you Lena. So do you." She says with a tint of red on her cheeks.

"Do you guys mind if we join you?" Colin asks taking me out of my trance.

"No. Go ahead. We'd love to have you guys here." I say and sit down on the couch next to Lizzie. I see my phone light up and Chris motions for me to take it.

Are you alright?

I'm fine don't you worry

We can take a walk if you want

I look ahead to Chris and he winks at me and smiles. I offer him one of my smiles and listen to the conversation that's happening at our table. I can feel eyes on me and I suddenly feel hot. I hope that doesn't continue long after. Robert comes in and tell us the party is moving outside where we'll be dancing. I need this. I can get my energy out on the dance floor since I'm going through this sober.

"We'll start off slow and pick it up as we go!" Robert yells through the speakers and Lord Huron plays.

"I love this song!" I say to Chris

"Care to join me for a dance?" He offers his hand to me. I take it and he guides me the the dance floor. We're one of the first one's there. I put my right hand into his and put my other hand onto his shoulder. He grips my waist and we sway to the music. I can see more people joining us on the dance floor.

One blonde catches my eye and I see her and Colin pressed together. They couldn't be more close to each other. He mutters something into her ear and that send her into pits of laughter. He kisses him and lays her head onto his chest. I didn't even realise my eyes started to water.

"Can we switch?" Roberts asks with Susan attached to him.

"Sure. Susan is a great dancer." Chris says letting go of me and Robert takes my hand instead.

"Are you sure you're alright?" He says quietly.

"Mhm." I say looking down. Just as I look down a tear falls from my eye and onto his shirt.

"And what is that then?" He says pointing to the tear stain.

"I'm sorry." I say quietly

"There is nothing to be sorry about. You don't choose who you fall for." He says quietly. I just nod

"The next song is for you so I came here before the first one ended."

The song ends and Ed Sheeran's Photograph plays through the speakers.

"Aww who knew you had such a heart." I say smiling at him

"Only when it comes to my daughter." He says hugging me. When we separate I can see the rest of the people are enjoying the song choice.

It is the only thing makes us feel alive" Robert sings to me and he gives me twirl. I feel choked up. I can't even mutter any words.

We all hug each other and Mark, Mackie, Lizzie and Robbie join us too. We sing and dance and there are tears and there are smiles on everyone's faces. It just fits everyone.

And time's forever frozen, still" We sing louder this time. It gives me an euphoric feeling I can't begin to describe.

I look over to where Scarlett and Colin were. I lock eyes with her and she almost purposely kisses Colin on the lips. I look away feeling dumb for even being nice to her.

The party calms down and we get something to drink. We sang and it was great fun. I drink some water and then Robert takes his microphone to speak.

"Thank you everyone for coming here. It's an honour to host this great party. With such amazing people. I would like to say a couple of words before most of you get wasted. I love my life. My life has changed drastically in this last decade and most of the people who are causes of that are here today."

Chris and I stand on the side with Mackie and Mark. Chris puts his hand over my shoulder and we listen in comfortable silence.

"I've been in dark places and thankfully I got out of there. I got out of there all because of my beautiful beautiful wife Susan Downey. Give it up for her. Woo. She really is a gem. I'm getting old and I am happy to have kids at this time. I can spoil them and be a role model to them as well. It's great honestly. I met a girl and claimed her as my daughter. My Lena. Oh I'm sorry our Lena. Susan just corrected me sorry guys." We all laugh at his silly self.

"She is someone I am most proud to know. The day I met her she saved my life and a few months ago she saved dozens of live's in the middle east! She's a hero to many people. To me. She's my daughter. I didn't adopt her, she's way too old for that but I do treat her as my own. Thank you Scarlett for giving me an opportunity to meet such a kind soul. She truly is a gift. And thank you Lena for being the weird kid you are. Let's have a toast. Lena grab your juice box." I laugh at that and grab my capri sun.

"To love and to friendship." He says and we all repeat after him. Everyone drinks and I sip on my juice. After everyone calms down Colin takes the mic from Robert and starts to speak.

"May I have your attention everyone." He speaks. What is he doing?

"A few months ago I started dating the most precious woman, I've ever met. We've known about each other but we never talked long enough. Not until she came to host SNL. I want to say a thank you to her. She's made me a better man and stood by me when no one did. She makes me happy, laughs at my sometimes horrible jokes and just supports me. So without further a do. Scarlett Ingrid Johansson will you do me a favour of making me happy for the rest of my life and possibly marry me?" He says getting on one knee in front of her. Oh no

She puts her hands on her mouth and cries as he opens the ring box. She nods and he jumps to his feet to kiss her.

"She said yes!" He yells and everyone cheers.

I think my heart just shattered. This is what I get for loving someone who didn't love me back. I'm such a fool. I'm such a fool for Scarlett..
