Your POV
"Hey Fred!" You say as you give a smile at him. He was sitting on the stage, in his human form. The pizzeria just closed, and Freddy was unusually quiet. He looked up at you and smiled.
"Something wrong?" You asked as you sat beside him.
"Oh, nothing's wrong. I was just... thinking." He said as he put his hands together. He pushed himself back and laid against the stage floor.
"Long day?" You asked. He nodded. "Guess you can say that..."
You then notice Bon bon running to you.
"(Y/n)!" He shouts as he tackles you with a hug. You laugh as you pick him up and set him on your lap.
"I missed you!" He says
.
"It's only been two minutes." You chuckle.
"Still!"
He jumps onto the stage glanced at Freddy. "You ok, Fred?" He asks.
"Yeah, just thinking." He says. His voice sounded tired when he said thinking.
"Hey (y/n)?" Bon bon starts. You hum a response
.
"Caaaaaaaaan we borrow some money? Me and the others wanna go to the store."
"For what?"
"Oh, we just wannaaaaaaa... buy candy!" He finished. You thought he was lying, but didn't mind.
"Sure, just don't get killed." You say.
"I've already have." Bon bon said. He jumped off he stage when you remembered something.
"Wait Bon bon I forgot to give you something!"
"What?" He walked to you. You acted like you were about to whisper something in his ear, until you yelled "a tickle!".
"(Y-y/n)! Haha, stop! Ok, ok, stop, haha! I'm gonna pee!"
After a while, you stopped. Bon bon's face was red from the laughter. He sighed and looked at you.
"I'm gonna get you later!" He says, then walks away.
"Sure!" You call out before he was out of sight. You glance at Freddy, who was silent the whole time. He was on his side, his back towards you, breathing slowly. You had a feeling that something was wrong.

You put a hand on his arm, making him flinch.
"Fred?" You said quietly. He didn't respond. Now you were sure that something was wrong.
"Can you tell my what's wrong?"
Silence. Why was he acting like this?
You looked over him to see his face. His eyes were shut tight, tears streaming from his face.
"Freddy..." you whispered, which made him open his eyes. "Why are you crying?"
"N-no reason..." he sniffed. He sits up and wipe his eyes with the back of his hand. He looks at the floor.
"Was it something I did?" You asked. He shook his head and stood up. "No... I gotta go..." it sounded like he didn't want to be with you at that moment. When he started to walk away, it kinda broke a chip of your heart.
"Please don't leave me." You whimpered. He stopped in his tracks. The both of you didn't move for a while, until you took in a deep breath and stood up. You walked up to him and hugged him from behind. He hung his head.
"You know you can talk to me, right?" You whisper as your run one of your hands in his white hair. He does nothing. "I don't like it when you're sad, it makes me sad. You always have a smile on your face. Why not now?" You quietly said as you stroked strands of his hair.
There was a cold chill in the air. You stood there, waiting for a response. Freddy was motionless. After the long moment of silence, Freddy softly grabbed one of your arms.
"You were there..." he whispered. You guided him to the stage, and he sat down. You sat on his lap and wrapped his arms around you.
"...we were...somewhere. I don't know where, but it was in a house... it was empty. And dark. I was walking down the halls, searching for something. I went into one room where there were no windows. It was very dark. Then..." he took in a quivering breath and hugged you tighter.

"Then what?" You asked. He gulped then continued.
"Then I saw you. Youu had cuts and bruises and you were bleeding. You were trying to scream, but something covered your mouth, muffling them. You... you were crying, and trying to get as far away as you could but something was holding you back... it was me. I had one end of a rope in my hand, and the other... was wrapped around your neck...a-and there was a voice..."
"What did it say?" You asked. He opened his mouth, hesitated, then spoke.
"...it said I was a monster, and I always will be. I'm sorry, (y/n). I'm sorry!" He then started to burst into tears. He unwrapped his arms and buried his face in his hands.
"Shh, it's ok, Fred..." you pulled him close to you. He lays his head on your shoulder. "You just had a nightmare."
You were a bit confused, too. It was almost like your nightmare, but Freddy didn't have any good parts. You stroked his hair as he sobbed. You looked at a mirror nearby and saw Freddy's reflection. He was all in tears, muffling his sobs on your shoulder.
"Freddy, don't be sad. It's ok-"
"It's not. I know it's not." He stands up and sniffs. "People always tell me that. The gang always tell me that." He paces around, his arms crossed. He then looked at you. "Like when they left me in the breaker room, they said it's ok. It wasn't. I had a chance to live..." he walked up to the mirror and looked at his reflection. "And what did I get? STUCK UNDERGROUND!" He punches the mirror, leaving a smear of blood on the cracked surface. He then stood there, breathing heavily. You couldn't believe what he did, for you've never seen him like this. He falls to his knees and holds his bloody hand. Only his breathing filled the silence for a while.
What would you do? You were so scared that you thought that he could do something you would've never imagined him to do if you'd even said a word to him. But you knew you had to say something. He wouldn't hurt you, right?
You quietly walk up behind him. You see him holding his hand, his thumb putting pressure on the palm. The blood was rushing out pretty quick, which was making you quite light-headed. He gave a low-like growl, which sent chills down your spine. He then stood up and turned around. His eyes looked more colder, more dark.
"What?" He snarled. You were now scared by his rare emotion.
"Wh...what happened to you?" You whispered.
"Nothing. What makes you think of that?" He snapped.
"You're not acting like yourself."
"I'm ok."
"Are you su-!"
"IM FINE." He grabbed your wrist and gave you a cold stare. You stood there, terrified. When he noticed your expression, his face turned to yours. He quickly released your wrist and stepped back.
"He was right..." he whispered. He pulled his hands close to his chest. You were about to ask who "he" was, until you noticed Freddy pulling his hair, his eyes filled with terror. He looked up at you and whispered...
"...I am a monster."

Wander West, in Shadow
BOOK 1 COMPLETED A young wizard journeys west, through dark forests and dangerous lands, searching for something. Accompanied by a wild witch who has secrets of her own, they come across terrible creatures, hauntings, cursed villages, and memories from their past. Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.
