i never wore makeup to hide my imperfections.

i just tried to cover my teary eyes,

the traces of sleepless nights.

i wished they would concentrate on

how bright my lips are

not on the corners of my mouth,

a bridge between how i feel and

what they see

i only ever wanted to look posh enough

because despite everything else

i am afraid that if i can't keep up

my friends will let me rott.

and i really don't think i can keep

myself from crumbling if i loose

someone again.
