《Cold》1

I met him outside of a movie theater. It was cold, freezing really and I can still feel the air numbing my skin, my exhales like smoke from a cigarette.
I was waiting again.
My supposed boyfriend had promised to be here yet he wasn't. Again. I wasn't surprised this time. I didn't feel anything except shame for hoping this time would be different... But I still stood there waiting, like the little girl I was, hoping she wouldn't be alone again for the night. Frozen outside waiting for the sun to rise and free her.
Until I heard a voice.
"What's a beautiful girl like you doing out here in the cold?" He asked and I turned seeing a beautiful boy. A boy I would later fall hopesly in love with.
"Oh you know, waiting." I said and he gave me a smile walking over to stand next to me.
"I guess I'll wait with you then." He said looking out into the frost covered street.
Nothing. No one was coming.
I looked at him from the corner of my eye, his tan skin looking out of place in a town filled with people who never seemed to see the sun. His cheeks were tinted red and I had the impression that if I put my hands on his cheeks it would feel warm.
We stood there. Silently. Watching the empty street when we could have been having a conversation, but for some reason this felt better than any words he could have spoken to me.
His lips parted to speak, a piece of snow falling into his mass of brown hair.
"What's your name sunflower?" He turned towards me then, hands shoved in his thick jacket pockets. I wanted to touch his cheeks, and his lips. They were so pink. I looked down at my jacket, a little embarrassed of the bright sunflowers decorating the fabric. It was a present.

"It's a month." I said only moving my head to the side slightly before looking back at the empty street.
"It's an ocean." He replied and I humed thinking of which one his name would be.
"August." He whispered and I turned towards him with a raised brow knowing we both have seen each other around town.
"Atlantic." I said quietly and the smile on his lips grew.
"Perfect." Atlantic mumbled before facing the street again.
I had always loved his name.
Atlantic.
A wide, deep ocean, home to lost treasures and people's dirty secrets.
Atlantic turned away from the street for a moment, the wind picking up and moving a few of my light colored waves onto my face.
His soft fingers moved them away. God his fingers against my skin felt incredible. Warmer than any sweater I could've worn.

Hinterland
Simon sincerely believed he was saving Morgan's life when he pushed her off the second-story roof of her family farmhouse. To be fair, his mother was burning it to the ground at the time. But Morgan Mumford, a lonely outcast with a chip on her shoulder and a full skeleton of remarkably unbroken bones, is not particularly convinced of his good intentions. Because the instant he pushed her over Simon also whisked Morgan into the realm of Hinterland: a shadowy world that is a perfect replica of their home town of Coching. But Hinterland is a hungry and dangerous place, where ordinary objects have taken on a life of their own. In Hinterland you might be ambushed by a gang of motorcycles or eaten alive by a duplex. And by god, you run from scissors. Morgan is now trapped in this hostile realm, unable to find a way home. Hunted relentlessly by Aqualung, an evil-minded Buick Skylark with a love for Jethro Tull and hatred for all things on two legs, she is forced to join a ragtag band of fellow castaways to ensure her survival. But the embittered leader of these children has plans of his own, and before long Morgan finds herself swept into his vendetta against Hinterland's imperious ruler: Simon's mother, who commands the living, breathing town to do her bidding and schemes to transform it into something worse than it is now. Something ravenous. It's time for Morgan to decide whether to ditch her new allies and find her own way out of the belly of the beast, or stay and help her fellow outcasts weather the violent feud that brews on the horizon.

To live is to Dream (LitRPG; First Draft)
A new Power has come into the World and seeks to change it. Being on the last dregs of sanity and full of alcohol Daniel West receives an opportunity to seek revenge. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To live is to Dream is the second book of the Just a Dream series. You do not have to read the first to enjoy the second, but there will be recurring characters along the line. The first book features Mir, a man that dislikes how his current world appears and hence wants to change it. The second book will feature other people and how the changes implemented by Mir affect their lives. For those interested in my first book, it's easy to find it. Just beware that with the first book, it was my first time writing and there are a lot of grammar errors despite lots of editing, at least at the beginning of the book. The cover was done by Lmarief. I had requested something bizarre and she delivered. I have even used it as part of the story since her interpretation of my imagination was a bit different. Still, I loved it. As a thank you gift, I posted a link to her profile here for others who want a unique cover. https://www.royalroad.com/profile/220043
