ZEUS

I come up behind Nikolai and grab him around the neck, wanting to snap it off, but he grabs my hand and yanks me over his back, flipping me over. I grunt and growl as I land on the ground.

I yell in frustration as I get back up only to get tackled to the ground. Nikolai grabs me around the neck and I grab him by the sides of his head and smash it against a rock. Blood seeps out of his forehead.

He touches his head and sees the blood on his hand. He shakes his head and looks dazed. He kicks me away. I get up and jump back. This was my chance. I step forward to take the last attack.

Somebody help! Donny is hurt badly! I heard Lily mind link everybody. I faltered and my knuckles only grazed Nikolai's cheek which still made him stumble. I cut his cheek too. But I wasn't thinking about that right now. Lily was in trouble. She needed me.

"You see now," Nikolai said as he stumbles back up with a smirk, "You will not win."

LILY

We were running hard down the hill when we heard a loud snap of a branch to our left side. We saw nothing there when out of no where one of those shadow demons, Wraiths, jumps out of the darkness to our right. With it's metal claws it tackles Donny. I ran to Donny, but the wraith stabs his side. Donny shifts into his wolf form and began to writhe in pain.

I whimpered, scared for Donny's life. He laid on the snow, bleeding out. I went to tackle the demon to the ground, but it only stared at me from the darkness of it's black hood. And then it ran back into the darkness of the forest.

I shifted back into my human form, "Donny!" I shouted in fear. Quickly putting on my ripped clothing. I skidded to my knees beside Donny, he was hyperventilating.

I grabbed a ripped up piece of material. I saw the wound. It was deep. Very deep. Donny was getting paler by the second. I pressed the material to the injury. He yells in pain.

Look down at his wound and frowned, "Why isn't it healing? Shouldn't it be healing?"

Donny looked at the wound and growls, "It must've been poisoned." He lays back down and closes his eyes.

"Donny! Look at me!" His eyes were dulled, he was dazed.

"Lily," He groans through the pain, "You need to run. Leave me here. You need to go. You can't die. Zeus left you in my protection," A wave of pain overtakes him, and he growls through it, "Leave me here and go!" He yells.

I felt my eyes sting with tears, "I'm not leaving you. You're too important to me." I get up and grab unto Donny's arm. I force him to get up. He yells in pain, but he gets to his feet. I looked behind him and saw the invading horde catching up.

"We BOTH need to go. Get up Donny! I'm not leaving you!" I shout. Donny looks at me in adoration. He leans his weight on me. I put his arm around my shoulder and my other arm around his waist. He was heavy, but I didn't care. Donny is not going to die.

"We're not going to be fast enough, Lil." I ignore what he was saying.

I look back at the army and felt my hope dwindling by the minute. I ignored the pending doom we seem to face.

Donny couldn't run. We jogged with most of his weight on me. He kept groaning and moaning as he held the piece of material to his bleeding wound.

I felt myself getting more tired and tired by the minute.

"Lily, stop," Donny said, "I can't let you die for me. If you stay we both die. At least one of us needs to live."

"Shut up, Donny!" I shouted at him as tears streamed down my face because I think I knew...I might have to leave him. But I refuse to do that. I can't do it!

I mind linked anybody who could hear me

Somebody help! Donny is badly hurt!

I stumbled slightly and my bad ankle twisted. I yelped in pain as we both fell unto the snow. Donny groans.

I cried as I looked at Donny. His own tears filled his eyes as he stared at me and smiled sadly, "It's okay, Lil. I'm gonna be okay...you go. Go!"

I cried, "No! I can't leave you!" The horde was nearing more and more. I looked upon them and saw my death.

He smiles at me, "I love you like a little sister, Lil. I hope you know that. You're probably the best thing that's ever happened to us damned boys." I sobbed as he said that. I can't handle the thought of leaving him.

I looked down at Donny and back at the army. I'm not going to leave him.

"Zeus put me in your care. I can't leave you, Donny...it's against orders." I was going to stay with him whether that means my death or not.

Donny smiles through his tears, "You can't die for me Lil!"

"It's not your choice, It's mine."

But I stood back up and faced the army. I wasn't going down without a fight. I could hear their cries of war. We were all doomed.

I took a deep breathe. This was it.

"I'll see them all in the next life." I told myself because I knew that everybody will grieve for me, especially Zeus. But who would I be if I left a friend to die?

ZEUS

I looked at Nikolai. Killing him was so tempting. But if I take the time to fight him...Lily could get killed. That is something I CANNOT risk. She is my life. I have waited centuries to be with her. I won't ruin this.

I looked over Nikolai's shoulder and saw the wave upon wave of the horde of soldiers he had that was just flooding over the hills endlessly. We weren't gonna win. But that doesn't mean I can't save the people I love before it all ends.

I growled at him and started to back away.

Nikolai looked angry that I was backing away, "We are not done here, Zeus! I am going to kill you and take your blood! I will destroy everything you hold dear!" He began to shout.

I growled, "And I will be waiting."

I turned around and I sprinted.

LILY

I saw the army coming closer and closer. It was like watching my death come closer and closer. I was scared out of my mind. But I knew this was what I was supposed to do.

I looked up at the tower, I needed the flower, but the explosion at the bar ruined everything. I never had the chance to even use it.

I take a deep breathe. There was nothing I can do about it now as I prepared myself for the fight of my life.

"Lily!"

My eyes widened and my ears tingled at the voice I thought I wasn't going to ever hear again. I turned around and saw Zeus and Dylan running at us.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing!" Zeus shouts.

I had no words. I was completely speechless. Dylan came and helped up Donny up, looking at his wounds, "This is bad guys! Donny isn't looking good!" Dread was something welcomed inside of me. We needed to get somewhere Donny could get help and rest.

Zeus rushed over to me and cups my face. I had scratches on my face and hip.

I knew he thought the worst. I shook my head, "No, I'm okay. Just a few bruises and scrapes. Wait what're you doing? What happened to Nikolai?"

"Thank goodness," Zeus said relieved. He looked the horde of vampires coming down the hill. He grabs my hand, "We need to run!"

All four of us began running down the hill.

"What happened?!" I shouted at Zeus. He never answered me but he gave me a look. No. He didn't kill him.

Everybody retreat

Zeus mindlinked everybody. I looked at Zeus wide eyed. Retreat? We had lost the battle? I didn't how we could have lost. I had so much hope for this to come through. I felt disorientated. What are we going to do now?

We sprinted back through the woods and into the castle. Dylan took Donny to his room to help him quickly get his things. Zeus carries me and jumps up the stairs in seconds.

We rush into our bed room and he lays me on the bed. He goes to the closet and throws a bag on the bed. He start frantically grabbing any random piece of clothing around and shoving it into the bag. I tip over the bed and look under. I saw the bag with the flower inside. I grab it and tied it secure around me shoulders.

"We need to leave." Zeus said while running around the whole bedroom, "We all do."

I looked at my book under my pillow. I grabbed it and shoved it into the bag too.

We heard glass breaking downstairs. Zeus freezes and his eyes switch to me. They were in the castle. He grabs the bag.

"Put the bag on," He tells me. I put it on as well and he picks me up with his one arm.

He opens the balcony door.

We saw Dylan and Donny at the tree line ahead. They're eyes were on us. Dylan waved for us to hurry.

Zeus looks at me, "Don't look." I close my eyes, knowing I might feel sick. Zeus jumps off the high balcony from the tower that is our bedroom. I felt butterflies in my stomach. A strong gush of wind getting blowing in my face and then we were on the ground.

We ran to Donny and Dylan.

"We need to get out of here," Zeus said.

Suddenly an explosion went off and we saw a fire was set inside the castle. Zeus stopped. He looked furious. This had been his home for hundreds of years. He growls, but keeps moving.

We ran into the forest. One of the wraiths came out of the darkness straight at us. Zeus grabs it by it's neck and snaps it. We keep moving on.

We needed somewhere safe to be to figure out what to do next. I could hear the moaning and groaning of Donny as we were running hard.

I looked over my shoulder, he wasn't looking good. He was so pale. Dylan gave me a look, it wasn't a good one. We don't know how long Donny can hang on for.

We kept running as hard and as fast as we could. Blood had stained the forest. Dead bodies were lying everywhere as people were still fight as they were running away.

two vampire and one of those beasts came charging out, tackling Zeus to the ground, I went to help, but someone grabs me from behind.

I was yanked back.

"Lily!" Dylan shouts. I was spun around to see a tall vampire. I growled as I head butt him. He snarls in anger. I knee him straight where the sun don't shine. He collapses to his knees while cupping him crotch. I climb unto his shoulders and I rip his head off.

I look ahead, Zeus was still fighting all of the on coming vampires that were charging. I looked over my shoulder and saw Dylan fighting off a beast. Where's Donny!?

I looked and saw he was lying on a tree holding his wound. He stares at me and gives me an assuring smile, but then his eyes focused on something behind me. They were filled with terror, "Lily watch out!"

I spun around but was immediately tackled to the ground. I groaned as the air was kicked out of me. I got punched in the face, which made my head spin even more. I saw it was another vampire, bigger, stronger. I got up and punched the guy in the face. I went to knee him but he caught it and swung me around, causing my body to hit a tree. I land on the ground hard, my skull smacking the hard forest floor. I felt the warm flow of blood pouring.

Zeus's eyes widened as he saw this giant vampire beating me in this fight. He turned to help me, but three vampires drags him to the ground. He roars in anger and tries to fight them off as more of them were coming. He kept shoving them off and killing them to try and get to me, "Lily! Lily run!" He yells.

I heard what he was saying, but I couldn't run even if I wanted to. This vampire had the desire to kill. I tried to get up, I ran in a direction, but I was yanked back by my hair.

I screamed in pain.

The vampire smiled as it eyed my neck. It had a sharpened stick, similar to a spear. I grabbed the hand holding my neck and tried with all my strength to get him off. I was wiggling and kicking, but nothing was working. This vampire was too strong.

But I saw an vulnerable opening. I turned the slightest bit, making him put more pressure on my neck. I felt my head beginning to get dizzy.

"No, Lily!" I heard Dylan shout, he was trying to get to me, but more creatures were ganging up on him.

I felt my vision beginning to get smaller. I looked to me left and I saw Donny, he had angry tears in his eyes as he got up weakly, he roars as he charged the vampire, jumping on him and making him loose the grip on my neck. I gasped for air as he released me.

I fell unto the ground, beaten and bleeding. I tried to get up, but my legs did not move. No! Donny. I saw Donny on top of the vampire punching him, making his wounds worse.

The vampire kicks him, causing him to fly.

"No, Donny stop!" I yelled at him. Donny landed against the tree. He was coughing up blood. The vampire got up, his eyes blazing with anger. He grabbed his spear and approached Donny.

"No no no!" I yelled. I used all my strength to get up. I grabbed the vampire by his arm and tried so hard to yank him back, "Not him! Please don't! Take me! Kill me instead!" But he simply kicks me off. There was no interest in me anymore.

I tried to get back up again. Donny looked at the vampire in the eyes. No fear in them. Tears were overflowing.

From the corner of my eye I saw Zeus saw what was happening. His eyes blazing as he threw all the vampires off of him and was sprinted as hard as he could toward the vampire.

The vampire grabbed Donny.

"Zeus!" I shouted in a panic. I could see the agonising feeling of panic and worry in Zeus's eyes as he was running.

Donny looked at me, his body totally limp. He was so weak. He couldn't fight back. He stares straight at me. He gives me a bloody smile and his cheeky wink. The vampire plunges the spear straight into Donny's chest, and right at that moment, Zeus tackles the vampire so hard that they both went flying for meters.

I was screaming and crying as Donny fell against the tree with a spear stuck in his chest. I crawled with all my might to him. I cried as I came to his side and stroked his hair, "Donny?! Donny?"

He was dazed, but he still looked at me and smiled, "Hey, Lil." He said weakly.

I cried hard, "Why didn't you just stay out of it! You shouldn't have fought him! Why did you do that! Look what you've done!"

He smiles at me and raises his hand shakily and runs it over my cheek, "Don't cry, Lil."

Dylan came and collapsed on Donny's other side. His eyes wide and shocked. I looked to him, "Dylan, can you do something? You're all magical right? Do something!" I screamed.

Dylan looks at me sadly and then down at Donny. Donny weakly, smirks, "It's okay, guys. I'm gonna be okay."

Zeus came running, blood drenching his clothes. He froze when he saw Donny. He stood there with one look stuck to his face, pain.

He comes to Donny's side. Donny began to cry as he saw Zeus. Zeus's jaws were clenched. Donny cries and said, "You know, I-I know you hate soppy shit...but I always looked up to you. You were like a big brother." I saw that in Donny. He always wanted Zeus's approval in what he did. Always did everything he asked without question.

Zeus was struggling to see Donny like this, "That's good," Zeus said, "Because I always thought of you as an annoying little brother." Donny sobs, but continues to try and be strong.

Zeus grabs Donny's hand tightly. He bends down and says in a raspy whisper to Donny, "I am proud of you, Donny. You did good." Donny smiles through his tears.

We heard roaring running up a head. They vampires were coming again. Zeus leans in and kisses Donny on his forehead.

"You guys need to go." Donny said in a shaky voice.

I cried, "No! We can carry him! We can still save him!" He's still alive.

Donny looks sadly at me and said, "My times up, Lil. You need to go. You have to leave me this time."

Zeus gets up with a hard look on his face. He nods down at Donny and Donny nods back at Zeus. Dylan was pale and silent.

Donny looked at him, "I never hated you Dylan, you were just a pain in my ass. Take care of Anna for me."

I grab Donny and kiss his cheek, "I love you." I cried. He smiles weakly. He was fading away.

"I love you too, Lil. You were all the best family I could ask for."

The stomping was coming closer.

"It's time to go, Lil." Zeus said. I was sobbing as Zeus came and gently lifts me up. I circle my arms around Zeus's neck and looked back at Donny. He gave me a weak cheeky wink before we all ran away.
