《Fluttercord: Forging A New Life (Fluttercord Fanfic)》Chapter 8: Daisy's Birthday

--Fluttershy POV--
Discord and I were taking Daisy to Sugar Cube Corner for her birthday. We were excited. Daisy was 6 years old by dragonque standards. I couldn't believe how fast she was growing. Too soon she'd be gone.
We reached Sugar Cube Corner and walked in. Daisy was on my back but once we got inside she hopped off and ran up to Pinkie. I smiled, Daisy was so sweet. Personality wise she was nothing like Discord. She may look like him but she got my personality.
Sugar Cube Corner wasn't decorated yet. Weird.
"Pinkie, if you dot mind my asking, why isn't the room decorated?" I asked politely. Pinkie looked at me and giggled, "I was about to get to that. Daisy wants to pull the cord on my party cannon. Is that OK?"
I looked at Discord who nodded so I agreed. Daisy was so happy. She meant the world to me. A feeling of inevitable loss came into my heart. In two years she was you to be old enough to live on her own.
--Discord POV--
I glanced at my wife. She was worried, I was too. Dragonques age and mature a lot faster than ponies do and I know it's hurting Fluttershy that she wont have her baby girl soon.
I looked at Daisy, she was so perfect. The sun to mine and Fluttershy's life. We didn't know what we'd do if something ever happened to her. Daisy was the sweetest, most caring dragonques in our history. It was true, never was a dragonque so kind.
Daisy's other aunts came too. Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. We'd made an interesting friendship. They'd end up yelling at me as I laugh at whatever ridiculous thing they were doing. I looked for Spike but he was no where to be seen.

--Fluttershy POV--
All of my friends can. It was nice that they all cared about Daisy so much. Pinkie declared that it was time to dance so we all moved to the middle of the room. Discord took Daisy by the paw and claw and began to dance with her. He was singing her around, making her disappear then reappear on his shoulder. I smiled, I love Discord so much. I don't know what my life would be like without him.
Discord out Daisy down who started to fly around with Dash. He walked towards me and put his paw out.
"Could I have this dance m'lady," Discord cooed. I blushed but nodded. He led me out to the "dance floor" and spun me around. Discord began to teach me a dance. He had great patience with me I kept messing up.
"Stand on my feet. I'll take the lead," Discord instructed. I did as he said and we began to spin in elegant circles. We did this for a few minutes then once the song ended Discord dipped me and kissed me. We got woops and hollers from my friends which caused me to blush.
He put me down and smiled. We walked to the side to get a drink. It was pink lemonade, Pinkie's favorite party drink. After about half an hour, everypony was exhausted from dancing.
"Who's ready for the cake?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed then ran into the kitchen. Within seconds she returned with a three tier cake that was multicolored and had daisies on it. It suited our daughter perfectly. Pinkie served us each a piece and we all sat down.
"Discord," Twilight said, "I read that dragonques age faster than ponies. Is that correct?"
"Yes, we age six years to your one. So really Daisy is six years old now." Discord said. He had a smile on his face but I could tell that he didn't want Daisy to go. Just like I didn't.

"That means that in two years Daisy will be old enough to be on her own," Dash said. I nodded and tried to fight the tears that were beginning to form themselves in my eyes.
After that we all ate in silence. Daisy was old enough to understand when not to be trouble. I was going to hate having my daughter go. It was different having my own daughter than taking care of the animals babies. I didn't want to let my daughter go.
Daisy looked at me with tears in her eyes and hopped up from her seat. She ran over to me and hugged me.
"Please don't be sad mommy. I promise I won't ever leave you. I love you mommy, please be happy," Daisy said in her childish voice. It made me want to cry harder. Discord came over and hugged us both.
"Alright my dears, let's continue with the joyous celebrating!" Discord said excitedly once he let us go. Daisy smiled but still had tears in her eyes. I wiped them away and wiped away my own.
"Now it's time for presents!" Pinkie exclaimed and we all went over to the table with all of Daisy's presents on it. I smiled, I decided to cherish the time I had with my daughter instead of dreading her leaving.
--Discord POV--
I smiled along with Fluttershy. Yes, it was going to suck to have our daughter leave but we had to enjoy what time we did have with her. I heard Daisy,s thoughts.
"I love my parents so much. I'd do anything in Equestria to make them happy or safe."
That brought tears in my eyes. My little Daisy was so special. She and I were the only dragonques left in Equestria. We had a special connection, but Fluttershy had a connection with our amazing daughter too. Daisy and I could communicate telepathically. Daisy and Fluttershy were so close in their relationship.
My dear Fluttershy, what would I have done without you? My attention snapped back to the party once I heard Daisy whimper. She'd gotten a paper cut. I snapped and it went away.
Thank you daddy, Daisy said.
Anything for you my little Daisy, I replied.
Daisy continued to open her present. It was from Rarity. It was a dress. It ha was a pale yellow and had a white bow on the back. I smiled. The next was from Twilight, a collection of spells for beginners in magic. Applejack gave Daisy a Stenson just like the one she owned herself, just newer. Pinkie gave Daisy a banner that said "You're the superest niece ever!" Rainbow Dash gave Daisy a stunt.
We all went outside as Dash flew high up into the air. She came down at an amazing speed. The sonic rain boom... the ultimate gift for any pony.
It was beautiful. The rainbow shot across the sky and stayed there for a few minutes. I smiled, these ponies sure knew how to throw an amazing party. It was getting late and Daisy was tired. Fluttershy put Daisy on her back and I teleported all of her presents to her room. Including a picture of the sonic rain boom. I never wanted her to forget that.

Of Frost and Steel
After being kicked out of home by her own parents, Emily found herself living in the house of an old woman while working as a plumber to help pay the bills. Her slightly unusual but still very normal life came to an abrupt end one day when an incoming car crashed into hers. When she next opened her eyes, she found no ambulance or hospital room waiting for her. What she found were instead the faces of beings much larger than her who were not entirely human, and the opportunity to live a new life, free of her old one. WARNING: This fiction is dedicated to a friend of mine who spent twelve years of her life hiding who she was because she feared the reaction of her family. For this reason it contains LGBT themes, although they won't be the sole or main focus of the story. The story contains sexual themes, but I will try to keep them to a minimum or make them "fade to black". Chapters will be around 1000 words long and without a fixed release schedule, for the moment.

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.

God of Thieves
Matsumoto Kunio was just an average human living a boring life in Tokyo, Japan. That was the case until he died and was reincarnated to another world! Armed with a System and tasked with a mission to save the world, watch as Matou, the new name he was given, sets off on an epic adventure! …Or at least, that should have happened? “All right, hand me the thingamabob, you’re no longer the main character! Now, how does this thing work? Ah. “My name is Kayden, and witness my ascendance to the God of Thieves! None shall be safe from my hands, not even your beloved System! Muahahahaha!” This can’t be happening… Author’s note. Hi, this novel is a LitRPG novel. In case you are confused, both Kayden and Matou are main characters, but the ‘protagonist’ would be Kayden. The novel is pretty slow-paced (in my opinion), so do keep that in mind when reading. This is my first novel, so do leave reviews and comments on how to improve my writing. Be nice about it. Also, I recently added the profanity tag. There is some swearing but it's not excessive or anything. Adding it just in case. Taking a one week break! Basically until my exams are over.

Shadow Falls
If you wanted to protect someone you loved, how far would you go, and what would you be willing to sacrifice? This question is at the core of this emotional rollercoaster of the book, Shadow Falls: the Rise and Fall of Erida VanIsle. This book emerged from four years of collaborative storytelling centering on the main character, Erida VanIsle, written by author Myra VanIsle. In this book, VanIsle goes beyond the events that led to Erida's sacrifice and explores forty-five years of the cost she paid to protect the sister she loved more than life itself. Shadow Falls explores the family tragedy which led to the separation of two sisters on completely different paths polar opposite of each other. While Erida set upon a path of darkness and power, Myra set out to be a beacon of light and hope bringing justice and peace to others. Be warned, the story VanIsle tells is dark and not easy, because you can't have the light without the dark.
