《Fluttercord: Forging A New Life (Fluttercord Fanfic)》Chatper 4: Things Changing

--Fluttershy POV--
After my friends had left I went downstairs searching for Discord. I found him sleeping on the couch. his face was relaxed and he was curled up in a ball. I loved watching him sleep because it was a whole new side of him I didn't get to see often.
I walked up to Discord and gently nudged him with my hoof. He stirred and opened his eyes halfway. Seeing me, his eyes opened all the way.
"What did they say my sweet?" Discord asked immediately though he was groggy. His voice was raspy and deeper than normal.
Discord sat up to allow me to sit down, which I instantly did. My hooves were starting to ache more. It was probably due to all the weight I'm putting on them due to my size.
"Well they were all very supportive. Twilight said she was going to do some research and tell us what she finds. Rarity, of course, is going to make some baby clothes. The rest are just going to be there for us," I said smiling. It was nice to have friends who cared about you so much. I hoped that they would grow to love Discord the same way. Afterall, he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Discord smiled, I knew he was starting to like my friends even though we did trap him back into stone. He understood that what he was doing was wrong. Discord, even after his second slip-up, has thanked me time and time again for making him see that being feared isn't the same as being loved.
"How about we go back to bed for awhile?" Discord offered. I nodded and he stood up. He was very gentle with me. He scooped me up and walked to our bedroom. It wasn't anything big or extravagant. It was simple, just like my life had been before Discord came in.

He laid me down and then climbed in himself. Discord rolled over and wrapped a paw around my waist. I smiled and then fell into a deep sleep.
--Discord POV--
I woke up and heard voices coming from the living room. Quickly I looked over to where Fluttershy normally sleeps, only to find her gone. I knew somepony had to be here. Fluttershy couldn't get out of bed or get off a couch without help.
I threw the blanket off and went downstairs. Twilight and the rest of the Mane 6 were there talking to Fluttershy who was sitting there smiling but had a nervous look on her face.
"Discord, you're up!" Twilight said, "I was just telling Fluttershy what I found. Female dragonques are in fact more powerful than males, but they tend to be more destructive. For example, you would only cause things to go haywire. If your foal isn't raised to know right from wrong she could potentially destroy all of Equestria. Even us four Princesses wouldn't stand a chance against her,"
My stomach dropped. It was all too much for me. I've never had the entire fate of Equestria rest on my shoulders before. Alright, I lied. I did but that turned out horribly. I can't even trust myself to make sure my daughter will grow up to be a good pony.
Fluttershy was watching me carefully. I looked over at my wife. Her face was strained but there was a determined look on her as well. She believed that we could do this. It made me feel better knowing the Fluttershy trusted me that much.
"So, this means that the fate of Equestria is going to be based on how your foal is raised," Rarity said, her voice echoing through my house.
Fluttershy and I nodded at the same time, causing us to smile. We would do the most random things together. Suddenly, Fluttershy burped and turned Twilight's book into daises. Everypony was stunned. Including myself.

"Oh my," Fluttershy squeked. I snapped my fingers and the book returned to normal. I'd forgotten that once the mother comes to a certain point the foal's magic will come through as burps. Fluttershy looked at me, "Is that normal?"
Twilight nodded, "It happens to all mothers who are carrying a dragonques."
I rolled my eyes. I liked Twilight but she was such, as Rainbow Dash would say, an egghead. Honestly, I've grown to like all of them. Applejack, Rarity, Spike, Twilight, Pinkie Pie (my favorite), and even Rainbow dash. They'd all grown on me like moss due to my love for their friend, my wife.
I smiled at Fluttershy, who smiled back. Pinkie Pie started babling and it was causing my head to hurt. I poofed up a cotton candy cloud to make her silent. Pinkie still tried to talk while drinking. I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration. The rest of the mane 6, including Fluttershy, laughed.
I smiled against my irritation. It was nice to have ponies who's willing to do anything to help you. I smiled and thought, "Friendship really is magic."

Dominion Expansion (a 4X LitRPG)
Clay is one of the world's top players of 4X games, a genre where the goal is to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. He's also one of the only players in the world to so stubbornly stick to the one city strategy, a favorite tactic of his that involves only ever using a single city or planet depending on the game's setting. All that matters to him is winning with his favorite strategy, but earning the respect of his fellow players for taking a sub-optimal strategy to its highest level has always been a nice bonus. And now it is because of his skill and entertaining determination that he has been chosen to represent a higher realm in a strategy game where the fate of Earth and dozens of other worlds are at stake. To the victor goes the spoils, and the spoils include entire worlds and billions of lives. That's how he ends up representing the ascended realm of Hell in a grand "game" between an entire pantheon of godly beings and other higher powers. But while it may just be a game to those overseeing it, it is a genuine war for survival to those participating in it where billions of real lives will go to the victor of whoever wins, and many will die before the game is over. Quick Author's Notes: System inspired by Civilization, Endless Legend, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings 2. Combat mechanics inspired by the Total War series. Slow-paced with many long-term plans. Protagonist has a personality heavily inspired by Ron Swanson. Know who that is and love him? You should like Clay. Know who Ron Swanson is and hate him? You'll probably hate Clay. Planning on writing every single day (turn). Days with important things happening will have the system/game mechanics be the priority of the chapter. Days where there isn't really anything important happening will be more slice-of-life and focused on character interactions. Designed a dice-based randomized map generator to create the world as the story goes on, so I don't even know myself exactly what's going to happen as a lot is dependent on world generation. Tech tree with hundreds of technologies already designed. There is a "harem," but it's not the main focus, the girls won't be cardboard cutouts, and I'm not going to completely forget about any previous women in the relationship whenever a new one comes along. One last thing. The "game" starts off with primitive technology level. The current plan is for the "endgame" tech level to be equivilent to WW2-era technology. After that and war just gets boring until you end up in space. Cover is temporary and made from royalty-free stock images while waiting for the real cover's commission to finish.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
