《Crystal Blue Disguise (Avenged Sevenfold)》Chapter 39

Brian's POV
I slowly open my eyes and look around at my surroundings. I'm laying in bed in a hospital room? Last thing I remember was being t-boned at an intersection. Well, at least I know I'm alive. I sigh and reach around for the nurse call button. When I find it, I click it maniacally. I'm eager to hear what the hell happened and how long I've been here. After a minute or so, the door swings open and a doctor comes running in with a couple of nurses trailing in behind him.
“Ah you're awake!”
“Yes. How long have I been here?”
“Well your coma lasted roughly a week and a half.”
“Coma?”
“Yes. Your injuries from the car accident were pretty bad. We had to send you into surgery immediately after getting you stable. You broke a few ribs and you had a pretty bad concussion. The concussion was what kept you in the coma for so long. We kept you monitored frequently to check for any changes. Everything else was good, but we were waiting to see how your brain scans went. No internal bleeding on the brain thankfully.”
“Well that's good to know. How long will it take me to heal?”
“I'd say you give it a month or two. If you're not feeling any better, come back and we'll do a couple more tests.”
“A month? But my band has a tour coming up.”
“They canceled it. They knew you weren't going to heal any time soon, so they had to.”
“Where are they now?”
“They were here not too long ago. I believe they went out for lunch. Would you like me to give them a call?”
“Yes please.”
“Alright I'll be back in a few minutes. These lovely nurses are just going to take your vitals to make sure you're all good.”

“Alright thank you.”
He nods and leaves the room. The nurses smile at me.
“We'll take your blood pressure first, then we'll check your lungs, your heart rate, your oxygen levels, and then your temperature.”
“Sounds good to me.”
I watch as they check everything and silently thank God that I'm alive. I probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for these doctors and nurses. I'll have to thank each and every one of them later. I can't wait to see everyone when they get back. They've probably been worried sick about me and to be quite honest, I miss them all so much. I can imagine how bad this affected them all. Probably worried that they were going to lose me. Luckily they didn't and that's all that matters. To be able to hug them all again will be the best feeling in the world.

The Tentacle of Fate
The tale of the Human Empire, the Demon Empire, and the Alliance of Beastmen is a tale as old as time itself. It was a tale of war, of love, of hatred -especial of the racial variety- and it was a tale that the races scattered across the globe thought would never end until a single species would reign supreme. Yet at times it seems that truth is stranger than fiction, they never expected the world would be united in the most unexpected of ways...
