《Fusion Online》Chapter 12: Christmas on Naboo
Advertisement
The date is December 24, 2021 with the time being 11:00 P.M. It's been almost two years since the Explosive Nebula have been killed in a dungeon, and three years since this horrific game launched. Ian still hasn't gotten over it. He just been more and more depressed, and the only thing he has to remember Jessie and the others by was by a mere picture and a recording of Jessie saying a few things and then humming a short song. This, however, hasn't stopped him from participating from any raids. Heather has been a huge help from keeping Ian from making idiotic decisions and becoming a loner once again. Once Ian thought about suicide, just a thought that popped into the back of his head. Heather gave him a slap of reality and stopped that thought from growing any bigger. Jackie also helps, from giving him moral support to trying to cheer him up, such as the time when Ian almost gave up on fighting. Jackie immediately told him how awesome he was at that and how he should keep ok fighting. Leif does her best in keeping Ian's self-esteem up by repeating the story of how he saved her. Nothing major happened, but Ian always had a sad and dark expression shown in his face. Just hearing about the story made Ian feel better at the way he viewed himself. Artie and Darcie...well...they always invite Ian to do a few raids. Ian always has fun while doing them but looses his spirit after the raid, no matter how big the reward was.
The Senate Commando's have been, by far, the most successful alliance. They had one of the best player's, The Swift Striker, also known as Heather Rogue. They have freed many planets from the clutches of the Empire, CIS, Covenant, and Prometheans. They have defeated one of the Deadly Seven, Asajj Ventress. She fell in combat in the planet Dothamir while fighting Heather's Company, the Soldiers of Freedom, and Ian Stalk. This battle was won two weeks ago, and ever since, progress has been slow. Since Christmas and other holidays are around the corner, not a lot of people wanted to fight. Other just gave up and decided to live in the game like if they have always lived in the game.
"Hey Ian." Heather says, smiling at him and sits next to him. Heather is outfitted with a white winter jacket with purple trimming on it, white sweatpants with same color trims. Her hair is pulled back to a ponytail. Ian is seated on a bench in Naboo's Capitol plaza, his clothing being a black and gold winter jacket with matching sweatpants. The city around him is covered in light snow, Christmas lights hanging and placed around shops, stores, restaurants, and even the Capitol. Ian and Heather have grown to become very close friends.
"Oh...hey Heather." Ian replies nonchalantly. "What? Are you not happy to see me?" Heather says, acting hurt. "W-what? N-no! Not at all. Not all." Ian quickly says, not wanting to upset the beautiful commander. "I see. So anyway, I brought you some hot chocolate." Heather replies and takes out two hot chocolates from her inventory and hands one to Ian.

"Thanks." Ian happily takes the mug and sips out of it. "What have you been up too?" Ian asks, sparking a conversation. "Not much. Ever since you defeated Ventress. Work has been slow. Not a lot of players want to fight anymore, the enemies haven't launched any attack, not even a skirmish." Heather yaks on about what's been going on. Ian closely listens, not missing a single detail. Most people would have lost tracked and stopped caring, but Ian keeps on listening. "So how's Jackie's weapon improvements coming along? She's my friend and so I want to know if she's been doing her job right." Heather asks her question. Ian takes another sip out of his hot chocolate before answering. "She's improving a lot. She has fixed all my weapons and managed to improve them even when they are supposedly at their highest." Ian tells about Jackie. Heather giggles a bit. "That's good to hear." She says, drinking her beverage. "Yea. Also, did you heard about the new Sword Update?" Ian asks, wanting to hear Heather's thought about it. "Yup! I even got a Commando Droid Vibroblade." She says, showing off a little. Ian chuckles, he enjoys talking with Heather. "How about you? Did you get a sword?" Heather curiously asks. "No. Not really." Ian replies, finishing his drink. "What do you mean 'not really', you probably have the best sword in the game! Is it an energy sword? I'm betting it's a golden sword." Heather speaks her mind, not holding back anything she has to say about his 'not really' answer. "Ok fine. You want a better answer, well here it is. I didn't get one cause I prefer range weapons." Ian states his reason, placing the mug inside his inventory. "See? How hard was that." Heather says in a 'ha I won't tone.
Ian abruptly stands up and begins to walk away. Heather looks at this in a confused expression and decides to follow him. "Are you ditching me?" Heather asks. "No, I just forgot I had to do something." Ian simply states, walking deeper into a forest with small trees. "Like what?" Heather keeps on asking questions. Before he can answer, two players appear in front of them, the male one wearing an orange jacket with black pants, while the girl is wearing a pink jacket with grey pants.
"Hi Ian, hey Heather." Artie says, smiling at Ian and Heather. "Hey Heather, hey Ian." Darcie says, not entirely happy to see Ian. "Hey." Heather and Ian reply in unison.
"What are you guys doing here?" Artie asks, walking a little closer to the two. "I really don't know. Ian was walking this way and I followed him." Heather says, not even sure why they where walking through the forest.
"Didn't you hear about the Christmas event?" Ian asks the people around him. Everyone looks at Ian confused of what he was talking about. "A crab droid is going to be dropped up ahead and the reward is a revival orb." Ian informs the three. "REALLY!!" The others say, totally shock and their voices could be heard from miles away. Ian bids in affirmation. "Then we better get-" Heather starts, but is curt off by two warp portals opening several meters behind them. Once the two blue Promethean portals open, 20 players come out, all wearing green locust armor.

"The Green Skulls!" Darcie says, drawing her Battlerifle out and aiming at the alliance in front of them. Heather takes a step back and pulls out her twin DC-17 blaster pistols as the same time Artie takes out his DC-15S blaster. "We do realize that we aren't wearing our armor right?" Artie whispers to his friends. "Yea. But we will get damage boost for giving up defense." Heather whispers back.
"Oh boss! Look who we have here!" One of the alliance members says, holding a DMR.
In case you haven't been inform, Green Skull is the second deadliest alliance. They are Player Killers, making them a black alliance. There sole purpose is to watch others suffer as they take away what's not theirs.
"It seems like four players have lost their way. Of course, we will be fair and tell you to leave." The boss says, his armor being green with steel markings. Heather looks at Ian, his face being emotionless and cold. It is obvious to her that he doesn't wants to miss this annual event. "Ian! You go up ahead, we will fend off here!" Heather tells him. "Are you sure?" Ian asks, not wanting to leave his friends against the PK alliance. "Yes now go!!" Heather commands. Ian bids as he runs deeper into the forest till he finds himself in a wide clear circle.

A certain crab droids falls from the heavens, creating a small crater in the ground as snow scatter in every direction. This isn't any ordinary crab droid from the CIS. This one is almost the size of an AT-TE. Ian opens his menu and puts on his armor. As he does so, four health bars start to appear around the boss.
Ian grabs a metal stick that's attached on his back. The staff is a red magmaguard electrostaff, the same on the one he used to defend himself at the bunker. Ian rushes at the droid and begins slashing at it, every strike he lands is a critical hit. Ian has donehis homework, he knows every weak point on this enemy. The crab droid screeches in agony as it attempts to squish Ian with its front legs.
Ian dodges all the crab droid's attempt at hurting him, and just goes faster with his attack. Once he has done enough damage on the legs, he jumps up to its back and stabs it multiple times with his weapon. The crab droid screeches as it shakes maniacally. Ian manages to keep his balance and checks the boss's health. 'Two health bars down, two to go.' Ian thinks as it runs up to its face, jabs his staff to the robot's eye, and leaves the staff there.
Now with one of its eyes disable, Ian draws his Battlerifle which is painted white and orange, the scope is the same as a DMR, and the barrel is orange energy like. Ian rains fire at the crab droid's weak spot. Ian checks his opponents health bar. 'Just a few more shots to go.' Ian thinks, getting distracted. The droid take the opportunity and fires at Ian's legs. Once Ian sees this, he rolls the the left, barely avoiding the shot but not the blast radius. Ian's health goes down by a bit, still in the green zone. The Mandalorian takes this personally as he holds his Battlerifle with his right hand and draws his left Westar. "Die!!!" Ian screams, running towards the droid. He opens fire. The droid yells in pain for the last time as it falls to the floor. Ian places one leg on it and goes for an overkill, shooting the droids head even though it's health bar was already going to hit zero. The droid can no longer fight for it shatters into pieces.
Ian quickly checks his reward. "It's here!" Ian half whispers in joy. He checks the description on it. Once he finishes, his heart gets shattered into a million pieces, like a glass vase being dropped.
"Hey Ian!" Heather calls, running towards him. Ian doesn't answers, he's in shock. "We defeated the alliance. I mean we didn't kill them, we just put all of them on the red zone till they fled." Heather says, announcing her victory with joy. Ian doesn't replies. "What's the matter?" Heather asks, now worried. The Mandalorian just shows her the item's description. "Orb of live...can revive players...only after...TEN SECONDS!" the description shocks her. What's the use of a revival item it can only be used ten seconds after a player dies.
"Ian I'm...so sorry." Heather says, feeling sad for her friend. Ian doesn't answers, he just gives her the item and walks away. "Wait! I was wondering if you want to...come over to...my house?" She awkwardly asks, shifting to her right and looking down.
"Sure." Ian says, walking away.
