"Where's Gem," Mom asked.

"She's still in her room." Four weeks after the funeral, Gem has shut everyone, except Golly, out. I began to worry. When I urged her to come, she dismissed me.

So, I ended bringing her dinner. Today, it was a pizza slice with "the works". "Hey, in case you're hungry, I brought you pizza."

"Thanks." I left it at the door. I went to Rylee for help. "How was she?"

"Still in her room."

"How long has it been?"

"As of now, four weeks."

"Maybe she is in mourning."

"Mourning?"

"It's grieving over a person's loss."

"How long would it last?"

"It takes time. Why?"

"Mom wants her out. She thinks Gem's seeking attention now."

"Mourning is no joke. Is your mom always like this?"

"Only with Gem."

"Why?" I couldn't take it. So, I told Rylee that Gem doesn't know about the divorce.
